no offense but you swear by no rubber bands and wax but 9 out of 10 peoples dreads in this video looked like shit at the roots and the tips.

to get rid of loose hair, i just put a rubberband on the roots and keep sliding it up over the new growth. im a genius but dont make the rubberband to tight OR YOU WILL SMALLIN THE KNOT YOU GOTTA HOLD THE DREAD AND SLIDE UP VERY GENTLY

i used wax on my first set for the first three months and couldn't get it out. two years later when i cut my locks off i still had wax and mildew in the last six inches. you might think wax will make your hair supa phat but in the long run it will rot inside your locks

wax all you want, just dont call them dreads DREADS, DREADLOCKS, LOCKS... are natural and your just trying to get the style witch is a huge insult to anyone with dreads, it looks and is 100% fake, if you do not have the patience and self confidence then dreads are not for you, move on to the next new supa phat look

This is garbage, no you don't need rubber bands but they help with loose hairs, knotty boy wax is light enough that it will wash out easily. (I used it for a year of my 2 year old locks and I have taken a few out to fix. loops no wax build up), new growth will NOT lock up by itself untill it is nolonger new growth and thats if your lucky, if you leave your dreads to just grow they will combine and start growing together. if you dont think cw rubbing works try it but not excessivly.

funny comments...most of u cut anyway...and most bought stuff from a INC. that lies we are a forum of people who have natural locks we didnt need to pay a salon to do them we didnt buy loads of wax and accelerators... we keep it natural and have many beautiful locks.

what a load of old rubbish !! ive had dreads twice (i got rid of the the first time for work related reasons) and i swear by knotty boy products... ESPECIALLY THE WAX ! ! and my dreads are not ''those waxy candles'' the only way they would even be the slightest bit waxey is if u where a total douche and put way too much on !!

I used wax and my dreads matured pretty quickly. I never had any problems and when I cut my hair the center of my dreads looked fine (2 years later). Just my experience.
