Landing on runway 24 is the most challenging and the most rewarding at PWK. On final app- u have the trees which are at 90ftAGL and you have to stay high till you cross over Milwaukee av-then chop n drop baby! I have touched down just over the numbers and made the turnoff on 16/34[800ft] a few times! My fave!!!
dude this video helped me landing piper 28 - 181 at dubai airport and in sharjah my long axis was not parallel to the rwy and i was doing side loadings with excessive rudder
There is a road that runs along the fence at the south end of lilydaly airfield where i fly. My instructor warned me not to come in too low because if a truck passes at that moment you will probably be low enough to clip it. gotta be spot on during short final
There's a little grass strip north of this that's really short. It has trees on one end, a road on the other, and a small hill in the middle of the strip. Right after the trees, you have to chop the power and get down fast to have any hope of making a landing in the distance provided. You know you're coming in low when you feel the urge to pick your feet up so they don't hit any branches. Then right your flare is about done, you come to the hill, and have to adjust so as not to hit the tail.
Haha, I guess some people can't detect exaggeration. I guess you also couldn't infer that I was a pilot when I said "It's always fun flying that approach."
Great Landing!

Exactly how far is Wheeling from Chicago. The runway starts really close to the road. Must be fun landing at that airport.

I have no idea. I'm not based out of Palwaukee, so I only go there every once in a while.

Nice landing. It's always fun flying that approach and coming 30 feet over Palatine Road.
