@BIgObelmont650 Depends what are you going to use it for. Like if you are going to use it for apps and video: iPod Touch 4. If you are going to use it for a lot of TV Shows and Movies, then iPod Classic. I have a 32gb iPod Touch and I have the iPod Classic 7. You can also buy apps for the iPod Classic on the iTunes Store. My Pod Classic has a lot of Movies and TV Shows and Music. So I save my videos on my iPod Classic and I play apps on my iPod Touch. You can buy both maybe. =) Heads up, message

yup i had my i-pod for one year and i only have 300 CDs on it which is 3000 songs and i currently have 135 GB left so thats with no video just AUDIO. Its worth the money only if you have alot of music.

Got the 80GB ipod classic for christmas back in 07. Sadly it broke in the summer of 2010. For those of you who are clumsy with handheld devices, i wouldnt get this ipod mainly due to the fact that it is a hard drive based ipod; that being the reason mine broke. Go with the touch : )

But If you don't care about the touch or a phone, this iPod Classic is the best for audio in all tests. The iPod Touch/iPhone has a little bit too high treble and the sound-frequenze is a bit of of there.

- Well.. the iPhone killing all other smartphone's out there when it comes to audio. (but the white headphones is pretty rubbish, a premium phone should come with some premium (black or white) headphones)

I've had 3 generations of the ipod, the 160GB being my latest acquisition, I own two now because I needed the space. It is advertised as being able to hold 40,000 songs which is an outright lie. I filled up my first 160GB with 25,000 songs and had to get another one to continue to gather all of my music. I do not have any videos or photos, just music. Since it is the biggest space holder I cannot criticize it but Apple is advertising it falsely.

"Song capacity is based on 4 minutes per song and 128-Kbps AAC encoding; in 256-Kbps AAC format, song capacity is up to 20,000 songs; actual capacity varies by encoding method and bit rate." every music player is the same. you probably have songs encoded at a higher bitrate. I know most of mine is 320kb/s so i wont get 40,000 songs on mine either. apple is not advertising wrong

@AnIntangibleBadge They say on the website that the 40,000 number is based on 3 minute 192 kbps MP3. Virtually no songs are exactly 3 minutes, and 192 kbps is borderline unlistenable so I would hope you don't use them. As a result, yes the actual capacity will be smaller for above average length, decent quality music. Even less for higher quality (e.g. Lossless). They're not lying, they're just using facts which work in their favor. Standard advertising tactic.

@cradleoflinkinpark That will never happen. The iPod classic is a hard drive, which makes it cheaper to implement more memory. The new iPods (shuffle, touch, nano) have flash, which can only handle up to 32gigs cheaply, anymore and it will be ridiculously expensive.

@giggidybdoto7 the 40,000 song quote is an average, probably for 3-4 minute tracks, so it is impossible to give a number that is accurate for just one person. Eg, if you music tracks are 12 minutes long then you might only be able to fit 10,000 on.
