I made a small cover group some 15 years ago - I remember how difficult was this song to make it really work. I had more or less god technology on stage It looked to be possible to make it cool but it turned out that the lead voice is essential for this song (probably with all Duran songs is the same issue)

So what I have to say is that what we see now from Duran is a miracle, because these guys are not young on paper. I am a big fan again I guess!
