Great video man, real helpful. I'm a newbie and malfunctions always worry me at the range. I'm going to have the wife watch this video as well. Thank you sir.
Question about the failure to extract. I have a Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm, a high quality full frame gun on par with the Glocks from all I have read. I have about 2000 rounds through it, and when using the cheepo's from wallyworld for target practice, I have had casings both fail to eject and have expanded in the barrel or something. I had to dig them out with my swiss army knife. SHFT and this happens, would removing the clip, forcing the slide to close *Didn't on mine* and racking it work?
@vulpixgrant It should work. Even cheap rounds should extract if the extractor is intact and the spring is good. Ejecting is another issue. Generally, if the round is still in the chamber and has not come out at all, the extractor may be weak or chipped. Inspect it or have a gunsmith check it. If it is failing to eject, or is coming out fo the chamber, but, not flying out of the weapon, that is different. Check the rims on the rounds to see if they are damaged. Hard to tell in this forum.
@talontraininggroup - It only happened with the cheepo's from Wally world. And the Extractor and springs are good. The spent casings was getting stuck in the barrel, like they were expanding when fired. I literally had to dig them out with my knife to clear the chamber. Only happened that one time, took the gun out recently and put 200 rounds of White Box Winchester down the barrel without any incidents. Almost like how a .22 LR expands in a .22 Magnum cylinder when fired.
My S&W 9MM mod 6906 never had a problem until Jun 09. I had a stovepipe but had practiced malfunction drills before so got it fixed quick. Always practice malfunction drills, it could save your life. Again, Talon thanks for helping people understand weapon malfunctions. Semper Fi and Molon Labe!!!
Those are Hi-Vis sights. It takes a Glock tools to install them, but, they beat the nightsights hands down. They gather ambient light and light up really bright in daytime in any light conditions. At night, a flashlight can make them stand out also even if you are shining the light downrange. I don't use night sites much anymore as they are never bright enough to do any good unless you are hiding in the dark, shooting at a well lit person. Seldom does that happen.
Awesome drills, I've been practicing with dummy rounds with my Glock 19. Also they are great fun at the range when I mix them with live rounds to practice jam clearing.
are they easy to lose? Im always afraid that if I take them to the range ill lose them in the dirt. maybe ill like spray paint them bright orange or something.
The ones I got are red you can't miss them in the dirt (unless you stomp it in the ground) they are call "snap cap" you can just search for "snap cap 9mm"

What kind of sights are those on your Glock 19?
