  • These gentlemen were dreaming with regards to Iraq but still either would have been better than Bush or Kerry lolz

  • I don't know much about Nader. I went to the third party with Ron Paul and am still a supporter....can anyone give me the differences?

  • Five years later an Nader's words are even more painfully true now then they were then.

  • Duverger's so called "Law" ...Why is a French Political Scientist's creation being used in America as a law for us to be governed by?Economist Kenneth Arrow argued that designing a perfect voting system was futile, because his "impossibility theorem" proved that it's impossible to design a non-dictatorial voting system that fulfills five basic criteria of fairness. In other words...Duverger's "law" would make this election a Dictatership!!

  • 1) You are very presumptuous

    2) You don't know what the hell you are talking about

    3) Look up "plurality" and "majority" and think about how these concepts apply to American electoral procedure

    4) Try and write a coherent paragraph next time you post something

    Cheers.

  • Oh I am sorry, I should have dumbed that down for you so you could understand it better.

    Dictatership ...Bad

    Democrasy..Good..

    Here is a cookie...O

Now stop your crying just because you got owned.

Was that easier for you to understand? Or... do... I... need... to ...type... slower?

  • you spelled democracy wrong

  • I love Ralph Naiders way of expressing his views- He speaks so many truths

  • indeed

  • One thing Nader supporters all seem to have in common is, they all think they're smarter than everyone else. They all think they "get it" about American politics while everyone else is in a stupor. The reality is, Nader supporters are arrogant, and un-self-critical, like Nader himself. Nader claims there is no difference between Dems and Republicans. A ridiculous lie. Think you know about politics? Look up Duverger's Law, and tell me if a Nader candidacy makes the slightest bit of sense.

  • vistacruiser59: I have never once even thought about voting for Nader, and I don't think I am smarter than you. But in terms of the economy, foreign policy, and the ensuing impact on my right to life, liberty & a pursuit of happiness personally, I see ZERO difference between the GOP and the Democrats. Am I "arrogant?"

I'm not trying to diss you here vista, honestly. I'm just interested in your take on why it is that so many of us feel sick & tired of paying taxes for a system that is broken.

  • I probably know a lot more about Duverger's so called "Law" than you...Why is a French Political Scientist's creation being used in America as a law for us to be governed by?Economist Kenneth Arrow argued that designing a perfect voting system was futile, because his "impossibility theorem" proved that it's impossible to design a non-dictatorial voting system that fulfills five basic criteria of fairness. In other words...Duverger's "law" would make this election a Dictatership!!

  • That's because Nader supporters ARE infinitely smarter than all the Demopub supporters. We actually know and care about the consequences of actions. Demopub supporters LOVE having all their money taken away and given to the superrich and dying homeless without any medical treatment. That is FUN for them.

  • An extraordinary interview and the truth has been told - no politics; just concerned and decent citizens!

  • If you want to have a government of the people, by the people , and for the people vote for Nader/Gonzalez.

  • HELP ME MEET RALPH NADER ! The Nader campaign is running a contest for who can add the most people to their e-mail list. The winner gets to have dinner with Ralph and its my dream to meet my idol. Please help me reach my goal, it takes very little effort on your part, just email me at: workers_of_the_world@yahooDOTcom

  • So how is that Ron Paul just comes on stage say he will lower taxes and people love it but Nader takes about infrastructure and really issues and everyone ignores him. Paul would lead us to corporate run feudalism and bad roads.

  • I proudly voted for PEROUTKA in 04 as Constitution party nominee !

Anyone who voted for bush or Kerry should be ashamed of yourself, you were part of problem and not solution

  • Yeah voting for candidates who can't be elected it is the way to go. Remember republicans get elected by promising to cut social spending and keeping gays from marrying. We only have to look to Europe to see the importance of social spending and taxation.

  • Voting for someone based on pure popularity and attempting to determine who has a chance and who doesnt is being a gutless coward who has no principles.

If Hitler and Stalin are running against each other, i make another choice unlike you, i dont reason with ''well 1 of them is going to win, so i might as well just choose the least evil out of the 2 ''

that is being a total intellectual coward. Its not my job to determine who has a chance and who doesnt, DO THE RIGHT THING

  • Ralph Nader is more of a gift than we realize. IT'S NOT TOO LATE! NADER 08!

  • I Googled "Nader's Investment Portfolio" I didn't find one credible source that was claiming that Nader invests in Halliburton and other big oil companies. However, if you do find one by all means let me know because Nader is just as eligible for my criticism as is anyone else.

  • I've been keeping tabs on Nader for years. If it was ever revealed that Ralph had invested in oil companies I think I'd croak from shock.

Also, do you not think that his political opponents, who are essentially corporations, would expose any such investments made in their companies by Ralph?

Surely that would be the easiest way to dismiss his challenge to them?

Ralph is far too clean for politics, that's why they hate him so much. You'll find no dirt on Ralph. Just ask GM.

  • My understanding of Ralph Nader is that he is currently America's greatest and most present heroe. The stranglehold that corporations have on our government, on our democracy is profoundly real. VERY, VERY REAL! Ralph Nader has dedicated his entire adult life to breaking that stranglehold through unearthing and encouraging the natural strength and powers within our legal system. Ralph Nader is more of a gift than we realize. IT'S NOT TOO LATE! NADER 08!

  • How refreshing is this guy? I know that its an old vid. but he simply makes sense. Listen to him on the subject of privatizing.

  • gravel kucinich paul nader

    dare speak truth

    demand peace

  • Strength through peace!

    The revolution is now.

  • When I was studing the law I thought I ran across a law that said during times of WAR (like we are in now) if a business tried to leave the US We the people/government could take over that business. Forbs ran for president under the theory that if everyone and business paid 10% of their income as tax. We would have more tax money than we could spend.

  • I like music!!! :D haha ahh...i hate politics...O.O too stressful

  • That's the essential problem. By standing by, we let fear-mongering politicians destroy get away literally with murder, and much more, without any accountability. I love music too, but I love to hate politics. If you thought 2004 was bad, 2008 and forward is going to be even worse. The large media conglomerates fail us. A few hours ago, CNN and FOX were both covering the NY Governor prostitution scandal. In that same period of time at least 13 American soldiers were killed in Iraq.

  • A vote for Nader is a vote for Nader. And a vote against getting shit on for the rest of your life.

  • I am a Right wing patriot, but I fully agree with Nader.

  • he can runn,,, but i hear he is pretty slow,,, given his age and all

  • Ralph Nader is hte man.

Wish the media gives a Debate between Nader, Obama and McCain.

  • Nader is one of the greatest Republicans of today. He runs a smart campaign. He works tirelessly to maintain Corporate power. Give the guy a break Democrats.

  • Republican? He is a member of the Green Party.

  • Hapet02 Nader may be a member of the Green party but he is heavily funded by the republicans. Google his stock portfolio. Ralph invests in occidental petroleum, Haliburton, (Dick Cheny's company) and many big oil corporations. When Nader opens his mouth about corporate greed he is being a hypocryte. He absolutely does not practice what he preaches. He is just trying to make money by having a platform to sell his new book. It is that simple. Please Google around and you will find the truth.

  • Such a credible source, Google!

  • I Googled "Nader's Investment Portfolio" I didn't find one credible source that was claiming that Nader invests in Halliburton and other big oil companies. However, if you do find one by all means let me know because Nader is just as eligible for my criticism as is anyone else.

  • there's no dirt to dig on nader

  • You have to hand it to him. Nader tells it like it is.

  • nader rocks! and the dems are resentful 'cuz he calls em out on their hypocrisy, and their move to the right.

  • For anyone who was thinking about voting for either of the two Dems, using a lesser of twon evils aproach -- then vote for Nader

  • Justify that; I don't understand. Democracy is a market of ideas and clearly Nader doesn't have the same ideas as McCain.

  • Because of the electoral system of delegates. Who wins even by just one vote in a given state, takes all the delegates of that state.

  • And? I think popular vote is a far better system in for voting but having an electoral system is not an excuse to only have two parties that stand for corporate interests representing over 300,000,000 individuals.

  • You are partially right in your proposal, but the present electoral system is the way it is, and there is not much popular support to change it in a meaningful way. So the result is forced two party system. It's just a matter of math.

  • Can Nader still run for president given half the primaries have already occurred? It seems late.

  • Yes, he is NOT a dem or rep.

  • ryanshaunkelly- thanks for your reply, but I mean from a practical point of view- surely a lot of voters in those states would have already given their votes to the GOP or the Dems and wouldn't they just see a Nader vote as a protest vote? I knew he was an independant.

  • yes.

  • Why FEAR SMEAR?

    Obama will win landslide...

    Right DNC?

    gravel kucinich paul nader

    The truth is powerful.

  • I was planning on voting for Obama in November but if Nadar runs I'm going Green!

  • Nader/Gravel anybody?

  • Nader/Gravel OR Nader/Kucinich

Everyone should watch Ralph Nader: The Unreasonable Man

  • i like Gravel better than Kucinich i think.

  • not a good idea. I'd prefer a woman or a person of color who is progressive.

  • You'd prefer those demographics in relation to what?

I hope you're not referring to the presidency, because we're supposed to elect candidates on the quality of their ideas, not their genetic circumstance.

  • i'm referring to the "quality of their ideas" + their demographic. Gravel is good but two old white men on the same ticket, regardless of how great they may be, would be a mistake.

  • Why?

  • because demographics can be important especially when you're trying to attract people who are on the fence and are undecided. My dream ticket would be Nader/Cornel West but thats not going to happen.

  • The fact that the candidate's gene expression even plays a factor at all is a problem with people needing to be more critical of who they vote for, not a problem with the race or sex of the candidates themselves.

  • whatever the reason buddy...

  • whatever the reason...

  • Great interview. Thanks for posting.

I had never heard his plan for Iraq before. Now, I want him to run again.

  • Both people here have a good point of view.

  • If Paul and Nader ran together....God, that would be incredible! It probably wouldn't work though...

    Paul/Nader '08

  • Paul wants a stronger private sector.

Nader wants a smaller private sector.

There are many things that they believe in that are opposite.

  • Ron Paul/Ralph Nader 2008, wouldn't that be great.

  • Edwards/Nader in 2008

  • I like Edwards but he never gets specific which makes me thing that he is bullshitting. But i don't know.

  • So this is what a president is suppose to sound like? I have this weird, warm feeling. I once heard there's this thing they call hope. Is that it?

  • Well Ralph good ideas

  • I say Kucinich/Nader 2008

  • Now thats a good combination.

  • Monsanto is my favorite corp. What r yalls?

  • Monstanto is your favorite corporation? PLEASE reply and say you are kidding. Monsanto, Dow, and a number of other companies produced many lethal chemicals for the U.S. government, such as Agent Orange. Rumsfeld sold a part of the U.S. bio-warfare technology to Monsanto. there are many forces which you do not know about who are fucking with not only our race but our planet, Earth, as a whole

  • I laughed really hard when i found my post and your response on here, hahaha.

yeah im joking you can take it easy. Monsanto is evil, along with many other corporations.

  • Ralph is my hero.

  • Ralph would transform this country into what it was supposed to be

    NADER FOR PRESIDENT

  • Ralph Nader is no where near a mass media tool? are you retarded? I think all the chemicals have forced you to go insane.

  • This appears to be an opportunity to replace all the Rep and Dem political system. Demand the national media give more coverage to third party and indep. candidates. Destroy the one party Rep and Dem political system. Save America......

  • If you like the words of Ralph Nader, watch "I Have a Dream in New Orleans." It is a speech about a nonviolent resistance movement in New Orleans.

  • This guy was really respectful toward Nader. This is a real and substantive debate. kudos

  • hell i'm in love * with love in action

  • Too bad that the man with the ideas and ideals isn't the one running this country NOW. Go RALPH NADER.

  • I am a Peroutka fan but Nader has moral courage

  • indeed.

  • Just four years of Nader as president would completely change this country. Imagine! Amazing to hear the truth. I hope he is in good health so he can run again or atleast continue to speak. It was funny to see that man in the video taking notes when Ralph Nader spoke. That's what all politions need to be doing.

  • Ralph Nader is one of the smartest politicians I have ever seen. Evil people will always be stupid because all they are looking for is their own shortsighted satisfaction.

  • "Disarm the richman". Yes, because all rich people are evil. You, sir, are an ignorant simpleton.

  • You are a direct threat to freedom and democracy and you do not even understand why. You never will. I would attempt to explain why, but wasting my time on an "ignorant simpleton" would not be worthwhile. Good luck wishing your grandchildren a debt filled, globally catastrophic future. I will not procreate because people like you have been allowed to continue fostering such heinously evil sentiment against citizens who believe in the positive progress of humanity.

  • For everyone else reading my last post, it was directed toward user w738 and not Ralph. Ignorance is obvious, however, and for that reason this clarification is perhaps unnecessary.

  • Ralph Nader is the shit!! disarm the richman!!!!!

  • Too bad you can't win most people with the truth and logic. Ralph Nader is a great guy!

  • 60% of US corporations paid no income tax? OMFG! Thank you Ralph!

  • cont...increased farm subsidies by 180 billion dollars, and enacted the largest increase in Medicare spending in the entire history of the program. And as for capitalism destroying the environment, government-owned property is much more polluted than privately-owned property.

  • What we have in this country is not capitalism. Forty percent of all the land in this country is government-owned. The government controls nearly half of the health-care costs. Sixty-five percent of the federal budget is made up of "entitlement" programs. Wake up, man! Ron Paul 2008.

  • That's just the government holdings, the federal reserve charges itself interest because it's contracted out to private banks (which was what it was supposed to prevent), the government employs more people than ever. This is a socialist police state - labor and property taxes enforced by the IRS who is not accountable and has infinite police powers.

  • Hmm. You are not correct in government spending as more than HALF of all spending is on the military, or is military related. "Government owned" also includes national parks which are public, and environmentally protected areas.

I would concede government provides too many obstacles for emerging business, but as RN stated: 60% of multinat corps paid 0 federal income tax. Contributing 7% of the federal revenue

  • Also, Bush is one of the biggest spenders of the twentieth century; he's increased discretionary spending by nearly forty percent. He's increased federal control over education (No Child Left Behind), imposed countless billions of dollars worth of new business regulations (Sarbanes-Oxley)...cont

  • What we have in this country is not capitalism. Forty percent of all the land in this country is owned by the government. The government controls nearly half of all the healthcare costs. Sixty-five percent of the federal budget is spent on entitlement programs. Wake up, man! Ron Paul 2008.

  • I would never want healthcare to be run by corporations. Profits should never come before life. Ron Paul, of course, disagrees. He does not care about those in poverty who cannot afford healthcare. They are merely a natural result of capitalism. Anything to help them is termed "socialism".

  • How about this idea:

Why not take the BEST ideas from classic liberalism with Ralph Nader, and combine them with the BEST ideas from classic conservatism with Ron Paul, and merge them together into ONE new platform that serves the common man and small family busineses OVER big corporations, special interest groups, and the super wealthy.

Both men are honest patriots who speak the truth.

    Both will END the war.

    How about this UNITY ticket:

Ron Paul and Ralph Nader '08

  • Even though he's a bit of a religious nut, I'd rather have Peroutka in office than Nader. Nader's socialist economic programs would destroy the economy.

  • capitalism has destroyed the economy. tell me, what's the american deficit at the moment? how much has america wasted on the war? how low is the minumum wage and can an individual live off of it? how many hard-working americans don't have health care? the economy is fucked. the dollar is tanking. capitalism has destroyed the enviroment and the planet. everything is a commodity under this absurd and wasteful system. wake up, man! Nader 2008.

  • Great interview, thanks. It's RARE to see a good, critical debate on tv...usually it's just "pundits" with a false sense of authority dictating their self-interested and invalid arguments against anything that contests the established system.

  • I am also Canadian, and i completely agree with the previous post. Ralph Nader is the only legitimate American Politician with sincere goals. He has a genuine heart and MUST be embraced by Americans. He is only one that makes sense and has the ability to make good use of the power that is America. I'm shocked he's not President....

  • wow, I'm Canadian but seriously, Ralph Nader is your only hope. Please vote responsibly.

  • dude holy crap...thank you i am american and everyone i know is basically stupid, i really dont get it. the advertisements is what is killing nader though because they make him look like an idiot, and he really isnt lol

  • i love ralph also- i voted for him in 2000 and sorry i didnt in 2004.

i'm ready to vote for him in 2008... we need a radical change in this country and the man for that job is Ralph Nader...

  • We desperately need a candidate like Ralph Nader, whom we can trust--who has the interests of the people at heart.

  • Nader is our only fucking hope. God bless him.

  • Nader for 2008!!!

  • we may not be able to get everyone to vote for him, but we can certainly show everyone what he has to say! think about it

  • Nader rules. He's the president we deserve and it's amazing how the Bush Administration is calling for now what Kerry called for in 2004 -- a troop surge.

Nader was right then and he's right now. Run in 2008, Ralph!

  • in 2004 kerry espoused what bush is doing right now...today most democrats are in support of what nader said 3 years ago.i am glad i voted nader.

  • I love Nader. He dares to be honest in such a dishonest environmnet.

  • Well said Ralph. American people need to think outside the two party shit box ran by coorperate influence.

  • he is right.. and he was right all along

  • Nader rocks. The world needs more minds like his.

  • I partied with nader once, he got drunk and stood on a table and was singing mustang sally, he also hit on my 17 year old brother

  • nader rocks, just an honest guy not chasing money. what a man!

  • I wish that Nader would just run for the House or Senate. He would have a much better shot at such a run and were he ever elected he could bring attention to these issues within our legislative body. Winning 1% in a Presidential election every four years isn't going to bring attention to these issues.

  • Nader's comments on the war in Iraq are DEAD ON, and this is in 2004!!

  • good interview. does someone have the rest?

  • This is why Nader has no support. Corporations won't let it happen. Do you ever hear our current leaders talk about these issues? How odd...

  • Our leaders can't talk about these issues - if you take money from corporate lobbyists, you do their bidding.

  • ralph nader is wicked smart

  • why arn't americans angry about this?,

jesus, you guys should be on the streets blocking the white house.

i'm not even american and i wish i had a say since it affects the whole world so directly. open you're damn eyes so i don't have to worry you dragging my country into war.

  • That's 2000, not 2002...

  • A solid performance by Ralph. Nice clip. I do feel obligated to point out that, unlike 2002, Nader was not the Green Party's presidential candidate in 2004 as the clip's description states. Unfortunate, IMHGPO.

  • In a just world, this man would be President.

  • Do you have the rest of this?

  • I love Nader -- He needs his chance to put this Nation in the right direction.
