In the PAL region version (Europe and Asia), there are very significant differences. Such as after Yorda opened the gate her hair was white, the Queen's shadows look different, Yorda's AI is much more improved, ect

The NTSC (north america) region rushed to get ICO here so that's why in cutscenes the animation isnt as nice and Yorda is a bit dumb sometimes. In the PAL she'll help you with puzzles and you can hear her speak too.

I must praise Team ICO for Yorda being able to point out puzzles for you, and giving you the option to play in "film effect" mode, though.:3 (Question, does Yorda look at the birds if you wait long enough in the NA version, too?)

The US version sucks. Cruddy box art, no two player, Yorda's AI is too dumb, and she doesn't help you much. In the Japanese and European versions, all this is different.

America just wanted to rush it. :(

XD that's further than I'd go. I'm going to Japan eventually, so I'll just buy a new Playstation when I get there. Mine is already delicate what with what we had to do to get it to read blue disks, so getting a chip for imports is too risky...
