this is the best practice ever! Hitting those bends correctly. Getting that rhythm with the tongue slaps. I might send you a video response in about a year...
I was just think about you the other day, thanks for posting this, everything I've learned about boogie and base lines I learned from you and your right they are allot of fun to play! Thanks again.
Great riffs Dan, thanks. Nice to see you again. Would you mind just breaking down what you do when you "tongue block off the note" I know the theory of tongue blocking and have started trying to use it as it just sounds great, but it would be nice to see your technique. Thanks man and hello from sunny Spain.
@Geetar2112 In this case, it's all about the "tongue slaps". In short, what you're doing is creating a contrast between an open chord-like sound, and a clear single note. The easiest way to begin doing this is to play a draw chord (1-4D) and while still playing it, press your tongue up against the harmonica so that only one note (say, 4D or 2D) is sounding. Over time, you can develop speed and use this as a percussive technique. On this video, I'm (I think) releasing my tongue on the upbeat.
@12gagedan I know i rely of topic here, but i was wondering if you could show how you would play Reodor`s ballad in blues mode if you know what i mean. the notes you can fine here in Figure 4.
with all the drawing, where and when do you exhale? lol, I'm filling up like a darn balloon!
