  • I want to purchase this but do they sell it here in the uae ?? (dubai)

And do i always have to repeat the process every two weeks for the rest of my life or will it eventually stop growing ???

And how about bikini lines will it work there as well ???

  • is philips lumea precision different than philips lumea? I would like to use it to the upper lip and on the sides of the face.

  • @Kataka83

The latest generation of Philips Lumea provides 80.000 flashes (equal to 160 full body treatments - lower legs, bikini, arms and face* (*only with Lumea Precision)). As opposed to many other products, with Philips Lumea you will not need to re-purchase any lamps after couple treatments. Philips Lumea's high performance lamp will last for years. After several years of usage and full consumption of the flashes, you would need to buy new Lumea.

  • hi ...i have around same skin color as the girl in the ad.....light tanned.....is it safe for me to use lumea?????

  • @Phanentina :

Philips Lumea is suitable for wide variety of skin types (I-V), but to achieve best results the right skin type and hair color combination is needed as well. The best way to be sure of the suitability of your skin tone with Lumea would be to take the suitability test on Philips Lumea website. Please refer to "Is Lumea suitable for you?" tab on the website.

  • Justt purchased Lumea precision , can i use it between my eyebrows?

  • @AmnesiacLola:

Congratulations! Lumea Precision can be used on your face below the cheek line - hence your upper lip, chin and cheeks. We do not recommend usage above the cheek line and between eyebrows.

  • So the hair isn't gone forever? only for two weeks? my epilator leaves me smooth for longer than that =| and it cost me £80.

  • @20SarahN10:

Only during the initial phase, we recommend applying Lumea bi-weekly up to 4 to 5 treatments to achieve the best results. This way, the hair sheds naturally and the hair re-growth is inhibited. To maintain the results, we recommend to repeat the treatment every 4 to 6 weeks. With other hair removal methods like epilating, you would need to wait until the hair grows back whereas Lumea enables you to enjoy smooth skin even in between treatments.

  • I have some questions ,

What are the risk IPL is carcinogenic?

Any FDA summary about the product?

Can i use it to remove ingrown hair?

How many treatment is required for coarse hair on the chest?

Why release such an expansive product with low battery life? Did no one bother to test the battery life during full usage?

Looking at the specs sheet , i assume this product is a cheap version of the more advanced medical ones you find in clinics specialized in hair removal ?

  • Is it safe to be used on the face?

  • @MozLikes :

We do not recommend to use the normal Philips Lumea on the face, as the face is very sensitive to light-based treatments and requires a different technical specification for optimal safety. For specific use of sensitive areas such as the face, we are introducing Lumea Precision - it has a special, seperate facial attachment with extra integrated light filter . It's the only at-home IPL treatment with extra safety for your face.

  • DO WANT!

  • can women use it on their faces? on such areas like upperlips or side beards?

  • i've just read that you cannot use lumea if you have lesions

is it only if you have lesions under the skin? as i have just undergone an operation to remove a tumor from my brain and i would have bought this product by now but when i read that i started getting a bit iffy if it's safe for me

  • can i use it on my balls and between my eaybrows?

  • @Thr4sh4lot :

There is no evidence that IPL would be unsafe to use on your scrotum, but we still recommend you not to use the Philips Lumea IPL hair removal system on the scrotum or the anus. This could be painful and not comfortable. If you want to remove hair from the scrotum or anus, we recommend you to use Philips Bodygroom (included in the packaging of Lumea FOR MEN - available only in Spain at this stage). We do not recommend to use light-based hair removal for your eyebrows.

  • @PhilipsLumea What about women's vaginal area? can we use it on pubic hair down there? is it safe? My father is going to buy it for me frm Qatar which was recently introduced in Qatar finally and the sponsor's name is Al manaai...So i wanted to learn first how to use it and its safety. Im really interested. I'd like to know which package is gd 4 me. thanks!

  • what about for people who have really sensitive skin?

  • @nadisha14 :

IPL hair removal can actually be more pleasant for sensitive skin than for example waxing or shaving, as it doesn't damage your skin (from pulling, scraping etc), but only treats the hair follicle below the skin. We do recommend you though to try Lumea first on a lower setting on a small part of your body to see how your skin responds.

  • Hello! I've tried Lumea, and I like it. For me it only has one down side, wich is that it takes too long to charge (about 1 hour) and while working (and depending on the intensity you choose) it will only last about 20 minutes. There for I take almost a day to do one leg, because I dont have a hole day of doing nothig, just waiting to use this machine!!! People at Philips, you should have made it possible to use it while charging the batery...

  • @j4nin3 :

Great to hear that you are happy with your Lumea, but sorry to hear your concern about the battery life time. We realize that it might be frustrating that - depending on treatment areas and setting - you might not be able to treat everything in one go. We found that women find it more important to have the freedom of being able to treat themselves wherever they want (e.g. in front of the TV, in the bedroom) without the hassle of a cord. But we're definitely thinking about a solution!

  • Women what about men. It should work just fine for us too?

  • @ClubAverage :

Philips Lumea has been developed and designed with women’s needs in mind. Male and female body hair are not the same and therefore we conducted additional research. From this research we know that men could use Philips Lumea on most areas of the body, except the beard and scrotum, so men can start enjoying lasting smooth skin as well!

  • Hi, I'm from Brazil and Lumea don't arrive here yet. But i pretend to travel to US and if possible, i would like to buy Lumea.

The only things i would like to know are: how strong is the pain that this tratament cause? and how much it will cost in US?

  • Can you use it on a mole?

  • @AikikaiAikido:

Philips Lumea has a specially developed UV filter to protect the skin, but we recommend that you do not treat on moles directly. As a result of frequent treatment with IPL (or laser) they could change colour over time, which makes it harder to monitor them. If you want to treat an area with a mole, you can either treat around it or cover the mole with a white sticker or white (eye)pencil.

  • the Light Joules is to low to kill the hair follice completly

  • how much?

  • @daaaaanzx 500 Euros.

  • I'm interested in the music behind these advertisements. If someone knows, I would be very happy. Thanks!

  • Not that I know..

  • has anyone tried it??

  • @AaaaaMynakKizzz: Actually many women have tried it. If you want to find out more about what these women think, have a look at the Philips Lumea UK Facebook page: facebook.com/PhilipsLumeaUK.
