It is based on John Van Druten's 1951 play I Am a Camera, which in turn was adapted from the novel Goodbye to Berlin by Christopher Isherwood. Set in 1931 Berlin as the Nazis are rising to power, it focuses on nightlife at the seedy Kit Kat Klub and revolves around the 19-year-old English cabaret performer Sally Bowles and her relationship with the young American writer Cliff Bradshaw.
hey i need to find this song in karaoke and i cant find this version there all changed soo if you could help me find this version just without the singing it would be much appreciated :) if you find anything please message me thanks!
really good...i still prefer the sally from my school production though... she's fan-bloody-tastic! (Clare O'Malley, training to be a professional in Philadelphia, in case u wondered)
What great lyrics disguised as a mediocre cabaret revue song. "You can tell my grandma, suits me fine. Just yesterday she joined the line." Thanks for posting this. RIP Natasha,
I'm an actress and it was Natasha's performance as Sally which I studied and was inspired by, when I played the part myself. She was an inspiration. May she rest in peace. x
Totally agree. Why? I'm devastated, which is crazy because I didn't know her, but - this is mean, I know - with all the destructive idiots in the public eye, why take someone so beautiful, so talented, with a loving family that is crushed by this?
best version of it

Personally, I think I prefer Jill Haworth's version, but this is a very good interpretation.
