gaasl, you are more concerned with believing or non believing. I am more concerned to learn, understand and move on - as a never ending journey (or at least an attempt) towards truth. Your approach starts with unquestioned believing, starting at the top, that is from realization itself - you seem to realize that you heard from truth, God himself. My approach starts from bottom, even though it never promises me that I will ever reach truth. But at the least I don't start on a belief.

The god says in the Quran:
(21:30) "Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We parted them? And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?"
(41:53) We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their own selves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Qur'an) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things?
If you make sense of those verses let me know. Heavens and Earth, parting them? Science tells me that Earth is part of Heavens and never separated. In fact it is bound to its nearest star Sun, which itself is bound to a Galaxy and so on and so forth. Living beings are not only made from water, they are also made from a zillion organic compounds too.
in the arabic language there is a idiom called "mentioning the specific after the general" for showing the importance of the specific like in verse (2:238) God said "Guard the prayers, and the middle prayer, and stand up to Allah truly devout.'
-God said every living thing from water God didn't said only.
No, I don't need quran to tell me that water forms an essential part of me - that is common knowledge. I am more interested in that truth which I don't know already and quran doesn't help me there. What we don't know overwhelms what we know (including what quran says). It is the journey towards truth I am interested in rather than the nature of truth itself (which I may never realize and not too concerned about).

You are speaking as if they (the scientists) owe you a reply :) Remember that we are all trying to learn more than what little we already know and that is how science progresses. Scientists are not prophets to put words into mouth of God nor they ever say they realized the ultimate truth. Its is a journey towards truth, despite knowing that we may never reach the truth.
My question. When you strip the hydrogen down to just the protons...aren't the protons the same as protons from another type of atom?
We just use hydrogen because it has the simplest atom structure, right?

So did they turn it on? Did it work? It was all blown up in the news and then suddenly we heard nothing more about it?!

You are right and God order us with that, order us to learn first and to believe as a result.
(58:11)God will raise those of you who believe, and those who have knowledge, in position.
(35:28)Only those of His creatures fear God who have knowledge.
And God gave us a lot of signs to know ,after realizing them by knowledge, that Quran was from God.
