Great video, from my hometown, where we go back to the Creek Indians. Loved the cross, beaches, Blue Angels, etc. I do think the Saengar, Rex Movie theater, St. Michaels, Crown hotel, historic center
Ft. Pickens & more of Palafox St., with the older buildings. I still think it was done well, miss it and brought back memories.
My face lit up when I saw a pic of my pensacola tigers :) my dad will be coaching their football team soon. State champs 2009 baby! I love my home town :) Oh and some ideas to make this vid better are to put pics of the pelicans all over the city and the old rex movie theater downtown, the saengar, the civic center, crowne plaza hotel, blount building, courthouse, and the reynolds music house. I loved this vid!
i got alot of history in pensacola thats were my familey is from 'alvarez' pride my great uncle is in the navy museum too his jacket is any way he was longest lasting american to live when over 200 americans was calt in put in a place named the 'zoo'
This video really hits me in the heart. I was born in Ohio, but have lived in Pensacola my entire life (since I was 1 or 2 years old) and I agree, the beaches are beautiful here. I am really stuck between a rock and a hard place right now however, I have been unemployed for over a year and can't find any work in this city that pay's decent and may have to move just to make a living :( I'm going to miss Pensacola, but what good is it to live here when you can't even make a living?
where i lived 10 years ago we could see the blue angles fly over and see the pilots in the cockpit love it reminds me of living on the base when i was growing up
I love all of this hometown pride! I'm 26-years-old, and I was born in Pensacola. I've lived here for all but 2 years of my life, which were lived in Birmingham, AL before we moved back home. I love this place, so I'm here to stay. :-)
Man its crazy watching this video and thinking that I recognize almost every piece of scenery in that video... especially in the beginning; being that Im born and raised here.
hey, i'm enlisted in marines and getting sent to pensacola in october for aircraft mechanics and ordnance. could i ask you a few questions about the city? - kevin
thanks for answering my message. i'm really not sure what to expect when i come here in october, i'm 19, and a little nervous about so far away from home for the first time. my grandmom lives in ft. myers by the way. is there any trains that commute between pensacola and ft. myers or philadelphia? (where i live)
Born in Pensacola Aug, 1980. Spent a lot of my childhood at the Naval Aviation Museum on NAS Pensacola, watching the Blues fly and playing football for Ensley Chiefs. Spent most of my teenage years chasing girls on the Beach. Graduated from Tate High in 1998, enlisted in the US Navy and spent six long years away from home. I now live in Tallahassee, FL but quite often I make the 200 mile ride back home if for no other reason but to be home.
I live in 40 miles from Pensacola beach and I have not been there in about 2 months . Yet it seems like yesterday I was there . I could never move away I could not stand it !!
I grew up there and moved away in 1980. You know that cross on the beach? In the 1960's it was the only sign of life between the bridge and ft pickens. Now it's condos and hotels....what a shame.
i was born in pensacola flordia on 3/29/94 and moved there in 96 and i still visit my grand parents and great grand parents there every summer im planning to move back after my 26th birthday
I grew up in milton/pensacola area and now live in anchorage alaska this video made me miss home so much! I try to get back when i can great job on the video
Oh wow. I cried. I was born here and have never moved away. I love this town. I always talk about how I hate a few things about it, but I love it too much to move away. I'm only 19 now, but since I've always lived here, there are way too many memories to list. Pensacola is one of the greatest places on Earth.
From Pensacola and now live in Denver... PHS Tiger from 1981 and UWF grad... get home at least once a year to see the parents... and a Jerry's Bacon Cheeseburger with Fish Chowder and a dollar draft... missing home now!!!
No embedding? What! Come on! Excellent video. Since this pcola is known as the land of the fly paper, cause people come here and stick! Maybe we shouldn't advertise it so much!
Actually made my eyes well up with moisture....Born and raised in Pcola...joined the Air Force and that brought me to Idaho :(...Mountains are pretty but nothing can beat Northwest Florida :(
Oh i love pensacola so much its my home and when hurricane ivan hit us i stayed because i love this place more than any othe place in the world. im glad to say ive lived here for 16 years and im still here. Pensacolan forever.
Having lived in Pensacola for 15 years and now in Indianapolis this really made me home sick. But, when I learn how upload the pictures I have captured of the fall and the turning of the leaves while riding my bike on the back roads of Indiana I will post them.. Good Luck Pensacola.. I sure do miss you..
Very nice video...I am a native, grew up in the 50's, and could have thought of a thousand landmarks to include. Living in North Georgia now, this is so sweet. Getting homesick for another visit.
Wonderful! I'm from P-Cola but live in Louisiana now. Luckily I get to go back and visit my family once a month. Seeing the Jolly Green giant at the Farmers Market took me back to my childhood!
Wow!! Brought a flood of memories back!! I grew up very close to Joe Patti's and have been moved away for 30+ years, but it's still home in my heart. Thanks so much for the emotional tour.
Also raised in Pensacola & my family still lives there, so I can relate. You picked some of the best landmarks, all of them known to me. You did an awesome job with this video; showing a great variety of the different sights & activities in 'Great' Pensacola, FL. Thanks!
Like the previous comment, I too moved away from P'cola after living there my whole life. We left a week after Hurricane Ivan to move to AZ. The pic of Joe Patti's & the Farmer's Market really brought home back for me. Thanks for this video.

no. you have to drive (should be around 8-10 hours, unless your willing to shell out the $ for a plane ticket.
