@taxidriver508 Ditto my friend. All the folks that pretend to know anything about music should have listened to this, before they passed their "judgement" on the rest of it.
And BTW, Larry Roth wasn't just nobody. He was also Johnny's co-dependent. They both were competing with each other and when Johnny left NYD, they competed with each other (Heartbreakers vs. The Kids.) I have to say, Larry was the smarter one:
@wildfrontierorleans Believe you me, I am not a fuckshit. Just because Johnny didn't talk to me about his heritage doesn't mean we wern't close. But, with every passing year, Johnny became more and more "beyond help" and I'd decided to move on. If you care to hear about it from the "horse's mouth," listen to what our singer (Larry Roth) had to say about him:
@Barbeelicious Right behind the Stones? Name me just one RS song that was better than this. There was a lot to learn from a lot of bands in the 60's and early 70's but none better than the Dolls. Both in presentation and delivery, but mainly in the substance.
Angie or any other RS song??? Not as good as this one. RS were just pretenders. You'd have to listen to early Jerry Lee Lewis or Chuck Berry to see what music is really about.
@justinbgaga Rolling stones where pretenders? Are you serious? Are you looking at this video? The lead singer is totally trying to be like mick jagger. The way he moves his hair every thing, if anything these guys where the pretenders. The songs i listed where much better.
@MrCherubhair1 It's not about how you toss your hair. It's about how Stones were exploiting U.S. music scene at that time. All they managed to do was to bring our music to their shores. When RS started to distinguish themselves from Beatles, all they managed to do was to "steal" our music. Beatles went about it a little bit smarter, and started to "promote" our music into "Pop."
@PrisonBreakFilms How much weed were you smoking lately? Check out one of the earliest New York Dolls on record in Max's Kansas City on Union Square in 1972-3:

A poor man's Rolling Stones indeed, but.... Thunders makes Keith RIchards sound like Van Halen? Is that supposed to be a compliment on Richard's part? Because it sounds like the exact opposite (seeing as Van Halen is one of the most overrated guitarists ever).
Im looking for a lot of wet kisses !! that will saturate my desires with incomparable pleasure !! what a totally wicked track I wanna ride on all the way to that special Kiss waiting for me at the end !! I dedicate my wet kisses to a real sweetheart ..she knows who she is ..
@dunvert ......if you love rock music, you HAVE to love the Dolls! Yeah, I don't classify the music as punk, that was their look and way of life. Good hard driving ass-kicking rock and roll.
Our town (NYC) is still rocking. Just because you don't know about it doesn't mean you are right.

@Pakastemamma What? I don't have a big problem with the band. Guys who dress up in frilly clothes and makeup are uncool pansies. End of story.

A poor man's Rolling Stones. Thunders makes Keith Richards sound like Eddie Van Halen.
grandabell 8 months ago
@grandabell
A poor man's Rolling Stones indeed, but.... Thunders makes Keith RIchards sound like Van Halen? Is that supposed to be a compliment on Richard's part? Because it sounds like the exact opposite (seeing as Van Halen is one of the most overrated guitarists ever).

dunvert 10 months ago
@dunvert ......if you love rock music, you HAVE to love the Dolls! Yeah, I don't classify the music as punk, that was their look and way of life. Good hard driving ass-kicking rock and roll.
