I'm with you. The turtles have always had a dark feel and usually that went with the Shredder. This movie was too happy or sappy for me. I mean, the whole demon Shredder thing would have made a good movie etc.

I've always loved the Ninja Turtles, but I haven't kept up with the new series since they totally RUINED it with Fast Forward.

I didn't even know Turtles Forever even existed until I accidentally found it on TV this morning. I had to go, so I didn't see all of it, but what I saw was amazing (which is alot coming from me since I dislike 4Kids for several reasons except the TMNT).

This movie never made me stop smiling. If Nintendo's Punch-Out!! series had one like this, it would feature plots and settings from the 1984 arcade, the 1987 NES game and its 2009 remake, and the 1993 Super NES game. Both the TMNT and Punch-Out!! franchises were born in 1984, but became better known for what they were in 1987. Now, after hearing Viacom/Nick buying the rights to the entire franchise, it reminds me of what Oprah Winfrey recently said.

yes before the 86 cartoon series, in 84 the comic book came out and it was black and white, more darker and Gory then the 86 cartoon series.

Okay I'll agree with that. It is really hard to take something seriously with a name like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles but still, the 2K3 show did do a good enough job at it.

Personally, I don't prefer one show over the other and unless a TMNT cartoon that balances the wacky light-hearted 80's style to dark, serious 2K3 ratio is made, it'll probably stay that way.

Kevin Eastman probbably had more to do with how "ninjary" the Turtles were back in the old days. Once Peter Laird had full control it became almost completly Star Trekkish with only small smutterings of "Ninja" elements in it.

I did say that there should be a TMNT cartoon for adult audiences complete with swearing, a lot of violence, blood and gore but overall a dark storyline.

So is the comic book ver of The shredder with the 80's and the 2003 shredder. April from 80's with the new april. Casey Jones from the 80s and the 2003 also in it. The classic book of the Foot with the 80's and 2003. Bebop and all are also in it. Tonkka and so on. The 2003 and 80's Splinter are in it. Also The Technodrome .
