1. If the sixth month was Chislev/late Nov then John the Baptist couldn't have been born around about Passover, he'd have been born in Adar/ late Feb or early March. But maybe it does mean that Mary would have been with Elizabeth when Zacharias was doing his second stint in the Temple.
2. If everyone had to go to different places to pay their taxes then that would conflict with males having to go to Jerusalem for Tabernacles. That being said the two events must have been reasonably close?
