  • @oldHFMfan Please do not insult...it is the voice of a human being and not God. Only a human can have a voice full of deep sorrow and pain.

  • Kiya Baat hai yaaro ... maaza agiya.

Just wish people of these days were

more thoughtful like these men of those

days. I did pay a fortune for a time

machine to take me back to this era :-)

  • What a beautiful song, one of my very dear song that I keep listening in repeat mode for days together.

  • HEMANTA MUKHERJEE and S.D.BURMAN are two geniouses who had once lived in India and we are proud of it. Voice and music like this are not at all created now a days. S.D.BURMAN was the only music director in the history of Indian film industry who was ahead of his time. We salute u USTAADS..............

  • Parole manifique et la mélodie agréable, quel bel époque

  • Uncomparable unbeatable genius S D BURMAN & HEMANT KUMAR ...Their songs are real gems and now never will be created again !

  • S.D.BURMAN was the only music composer who was ahead of his time.

  • Yes money can not buy the pleasure we get by listening to these melodious songs.

    Thanks for reinforcing my thoughts.

  • @kkjb586

That is a million $ statement - oops - gazillion "old melodious song" statement. I indulge in this late at night. Has a very soothing effect.

  • Matchless...

  • Haunting singing by Hemant Kumar of a signature SD Burman composition. Music at its melodious moving best. Thanks for posting.

  • This is such a soulful song by Hemanth Kumar. Thanks for uploading it. The lyrics is just amazing. It's so hard to find good songs these days. This song will remain a classic Masterpiece, thanks again for sharing it.

  • You LOVE Dev Anand, don't you ! So do I ! Thanksa lot!

  • a very soulful song by Hemant Kumar and S.D.Burman

  • "J" & "Z" are being pronounced the same way. Zey Zabar pesh....Zindagi, Zaroorat as Jindagi, Jaroorat...and words of Hindi like the voice of airhostesses.....Ishtyle badal gaya hai.....Saaaaaaaaaaad,

  • Hemant Kumar's celestial voice had a divinity that will haunt the indian music lovers for centuries. Thanks for uploading this immortal song, one of my all time favourites.

  • It is a touching song. The main point in the theme is the expression of love and with Hemant's voice it is completely complimented.

  • The modern singers of India Do NOT Speak Hindi songs like these. THey put too much stress on "Hee" "Bhee" and have tortured speaking of Hindi. Look at the way these songs are sung and shame to our current singers and dialouge speakers. SHAME SHAME SHAME

  • More importantly they have forgotten the difference between good Urdu and good Hindi! Nowadays they speak a bad mix of Urdu, Hindi and English :(

  • I agree. Please visit me on my facebook. Search for Dilip Kapasi and I would like to share my album with anyone who is nostalgic about old Indian songs.

  • a million greetings to the singer and actor...........

  • boht wadhiya

  • kanha gaye aj aise actor actress....kash uss jamane mei hoti main.......achhe actor actress k alawa culture, moral values ,adarsh sab dekhne ko milte..ab main kehti hu bhagwan se ki "ISS DUNIA MEI JINE SE TO BEHTAR HAI K MAR JAI"

  • Hemant Da.....wah

  • music with song matches with extraordinary perfection. the initiation of the song with lata's voice is excellent.

  • rnit, the initial humming is the voice of Asha and not Lata.

  • Yes I agree.

  • Shakunverma's views happen to be exactly like mine ! She has left me behind, as usual, while posting these comments ! After all she is my wife !

  • Hemant's repertoire of self-composed songs is just outstanding. Hindi aside, you also need to delve into his vast anthology of Bangla songs, a lot of which when remade into Hindi were sung by other singers.

O Nodi Re, for example, became Lata's "O Beqarar Dil"; and Aami Door Hote was remade as Meri Baat Rahi Mere Man Mein. There are many more such instances.

  • Another Hemant Kumar classic from Sachinda ! It may sound strange but the fact is that Hemant Kumar, a legend in his own right, could not compose for himself as well as Sachinda did for him. 'House No. 44', 'Manzil', 'Jaal', 'Solva Saal', 'Pyaasa', 'Baat Ek Raat Ki' !

  • There you may not be entirely correct. There are equally great compositions from Hemanta which he has sang himself...search 'hemanta mukherjee' on youtube.

  • I certainly donot dispute the fact that Hemantda was a great music composer/singer. I just feel his best Hindi songs are composed by Sachinda. Exceptions: 'Ya dil ki suno'- 'Anupama' and 'Dil chhed koi aisa nagma'-'Inspector'. I am not aware of his Bengali compositions, which must have been great, as Mannada once said that each Bengali household reverberaes with his songs and voice.

  • Before you make such comments, please educate yourself.

  • Would u b nice enough to start educating me yourself ! I would love to know more about these exceptionally gifted maestros/singers.

  • what do you want to know? a lot of things actually ....

  • Hemant Kumar sang great songs for himself as well. "Raah Bani Khud Manzil", "Tum Pukar Lo", "Janam Se Banjara", "Jaag Dard-e-Ishq Jag" etc. were his own compositions.

  • "Jaag dard-e-ishq" song is from Anarkali, whose composer was C. Ramchandra, not Hemant Kumar.

  • Yes, you are right, I am wrong. Since Ravi (who was Hemant Kumar's assistant, if I am not wrong) played Bin in Anarkali, I got confused.

    Thank you.

  • Great discovery.Thanks

  • there is no match to Hemant Kumar's barriton melody

  • great meaningfull

  • Amazing Wonderful Sooooooooooo Soulful. My god I am crying.

  • I cry too when I hear this song, reminds me of my lost love ...ohh the agony. I can sing it too

  • I first heard this song from my dad when sung it at a show almost 15 years ago, I was like 13 years old then, the way he sung it was awesome and now whenever I hear the original I just get goosebumps because there is sooo much feeling in the song the way it is sung by Hemant Kumar! Love it!

  • Amazing Song !!!!

  • i love this song , this song is about my life

  • awesome dev sahab, beautiful kalpana kartik and mind blowing hemant. This combo has done wonders for this song.An evergreen song of an evergreen star.

  • one of Hemant Kumar's best songs!! His rendering of this song is inimitable. And the melody and lyrics are simply superb.
