Yeah, marklross2, he's a comedian, they use humor to make a point. And all he was doing was making fun of how Giuliani and the Republicans were shamelessly exploiting 9/11.
He said their selection of New York for the convention had nothing to do with 9/11, but then he flogged in every single speech. FDNY blames this guy for the firefighters who died because he gave them defective radios, he wouldn't let FDNY retrieve their friend's bodies, and he had them arrested when they protested this.

Yes, add a personal insult in there, that will solve problems. I'm not suggesting you change the video to what I agree with. Hell, I may even be on the same side as you, but I don't know because the video is confusing. I think arguments must be made and won by using the source in context, rather than cutting pieces. I remember watching that debate thinking, God, he's beating a dead horse. And they all were, but Rudy was the worst. Yes, 9/11 was horrible, yes we need to prevent it from ever happening again. The problem is that the Republicans seem to think that the way to do it is by taking over the rest of the world. The whole debate was about national security and foreign policy...and how Ron Paul had a totally different stance than the rest of them. Rudy was whoring out 9/11.

I'm not whining, I'm pointing out a WORSE situation than Iraq as far as human rights are concerned. So human rights should have no say in whether it was a good Idea to go into the country in the first place. I'm in no way suggesting that we go into Sudan as a county, maybe as individuals, but deinately not as a country...He definitly was whoring his position as mayor of New York during 9/11/01 for political gain, it was pretty blatant.

I agree with Nate2203. I think that both sides are corrupt. I never once said I liked Obama, I just liked him more than McCain. All I'm saying is don't rip on Stewart for this, because he tries. You don't have to agree with him... I just think you should recognize that he isn't apart of the democratic party. His ideals line up more with the democratic platform, but that doesn't mean he supports the democratic party. People just think that because the ideals line up.

Because it's not meant to be taken seriosly. it's not news, but sometimes it's just great to cut through all the theathrical drama and stuff, which people really like. Well. i'm not american and to me it seems like they take the news, make fun of the hypocrisy there is, and that's what they do, Alot of people can relate to their fruststraition about the things, and share they view on how the news are not doing the job they are supposed to to.
