The vocalist does not need to be going all the time. I hate when bands have vocals all the time and you cant focus on the riffs and whats making the song you just hear this pointless jabber coming out because after a while it all sounds the same so make the ones you use count
I agree with you on the vocalist being in to much is bad but you need to be in a little more because like 30 sec gaps of the same repeat riff with no vocalist to add something that isn't repeated is good great job though.
