  • I heard part of this song is in Rosalina's Ice World, so if knw what part is remixed, can you tell me?

  • idk why, but listening to this song makes me sad :(

  • This was one of my favorite galaxies, with all of the floating debris. I especially liked the Goomba Observatory and the Snow Planet they made with the glass atmosphere.... Awesome Level

  • listen to this music when you watch a video featuring galaxies...

  • this gave me goosebumps after not having heard it in years.... this and gusty garden are my fav mario songs of all time, long live super mario galaxy

  • This reminds me of that one scene in Wall-E

  • I remember when i saw the S.S. Dolphin i started freaking out lol.

  • I think this galaxy takes place where Star wars episode 6 finished, mario walking through the remains of imperial and rebel ships.

  • I dont know why but this track reminds me of

Metroid Prime OST - Wrecked Ship Frigate

  • I think it's called Space Junk Galaxy because of the overall mood of the level. It is quiet and lonely. All this debris used to be something; a part of a ship or something significant. Now it is all in some remote, cold location in the universe. This wasn't a happy-go-lucky Mario level; it was slower, are much more fascinating than that. Calling it all "junk" helps amplify a sense of loneliness and abuse all this forgotten debris has gone through.

That's what I think Space Junk Glalaxy is.

  • @Codybean1 deep stuff you should write a book

  • Galaxy games are sick. I remember playing number 1 and 2...some of the best times you'll ever have with your Wii. ^_^

  • awesome! soo cool!

  • Propaganda...

  • a very, very beautiful song. ^_^

  • Anyone else picking up any 'Magicant' in this? :3 (EarthBound0 that is)

I never realised it before seeing some comments on a remix O.o But they sound a lot alike, especially at the start.

  • @CrypticKamek And ironically, I love both songs and never realised their similarities before.

  • a beautiful song like this should be 1080p HD!!! :D

  • @me5cool2872 Yeah, this still sounds really nice though even in 240p hehe

  • I had one problem with this place... Why is the S.S. Dolphin in the junk yard?! D:

  • This music is AWESOME! But it's ironic that this is theme for the "Space Junk Galaxy" cuz this music is not junk!!!

  • :( ONE PART OF THE SONG IS SAD BECAUSE IT SHOWS HOW A BEAUTIFULL PLACE IS BROKEN OR DESTROYED JUST IMAGINE HOW SPACE JUNK GALAXY WILL BE WITHOUT ALL THE POLLUTION IN IT . LIKE US THE EARTH IS GETTING POLLUTED WE NEED TO FIX ALL OF IT OR WE MAYBE ONE DAY WE WILL BECOME SPACE JUNK .

  • @Bubblegumbubblesful We'll be a planet of random floating pieces of space shit that magically fly over to your feet for you to step on in space? Hell yeah...

  • I could fall asleep to this lovely melody. ' ' ' U_U, ' ' '

  • when u get ur wii if u get the edition with new super mario bros in it (like i did) the sound track comes with it and if u dont have the game the only way u will understand any of this if u have played the game at some ones else's house

  • @thebarkingpig We may have messed up Earth, but it would take a considerable amount of effort to pollute the entire Milky Way.

Besides, maybe all this trash would accumulate bacteria, on another world. Maybe this "junk" is just diverse material, cosmically.

  • @BrawlFanMario I prefer SMG2 by a small margin, but SMG1 is superior in some regards, particularly music.

  • Reminds me of the music on that amateur astronomy show on PBS. Stargazer or something.

  • You know what I think this music should have been

replased with flip-swap galaxy from mario galaxy 2.

  • Why do they have to make this music so pretty.

  • I liked the first one more...

  • MIDNA'S LAMENT!!

  • @Tazmolo they sound so similar right?

  • Me gusta mucho esta kancion... me relaja me trankiliza....ahhhh =^.^=

  • But, than again, it may say that there is beauty in all things, even a disheveled emassment of what could be called, under certain circumstances, "junk".

  • I find it impossible to sum up this song's message of both freedom and restriction, but I shall try. Here I go: The resonating tones and underlying characters represent the infinite possibilities the universe has to offer, and the fact that the choice is our's to make, but the saddenning qualities suggest that if this galaxy had been inhabited, it was most likely a beautiful world, but the beauty did not stand the test of time and withered into it's current condition.

    What a waste.

  • @NamesAreForSuckerz This is not a song.

  • Comment removed

  • @novanilla606 What is it then?

  • @NamesAreForSuckerz A song is something with words.

  • Lol my first top comment sweeet. Can I get two on the same video?

  • gosh i tell ya

I'll play this song when I'm up in space someday

  • @dleano jajaja suerte y ojala se te kupla =^.^=

  • This song is so beautiful! Why is there a dislike button?!

  • KOJI KONDO: Zelda music

    KOJI KONDO: Mario Music

    The same composer xD

  • PIANO MARIO SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:O

  • Beautiful song like this shouldn't have the word "Junk" in the title.

  • @SNESFanboy64 I disagree. I think the word makes you rethink about what you normally see as just random junk.

  • @SNESFanboy64 the original name was star dust galaxy i think

  • @SNESFanboy64 Well you know what they say,

One man's Junk is another man's Jewel.

  • @SNESFanboy64 In the Japanese version, this is called "The Stardust Galaxy."

A much more fitting name IMO.

  • I like to think that some games have a soul. You know like Mario, Okami, Zelda, Kingdom Hearts etc. IMO These type of games have a soul 'cause I will remember those particular games forever and I feel awesome playing them :3

IMO games that lack soul are most racing games and most shooters except Burn Out, Mario Kart, and Gears of War. Those games come out like muffins in a bakery and they're to similar to one another. Burn Out, Mario Kart, and Gears standout.

  • @julex234 I agree.

  • Man, sometimes I'll just go to this level and stare at the galaxy in the background and listen to the music. I just finished learning this on the piano. This game is incredible.

  • This will be my lullaby

  • song nostalgic

  • The sound of the pull stars go very well with this peaceful music :)

  • By far the most beautiful number in the game right alongside with Rosalina's story theme, the observatory theme, etc. This music is the language of peaceful and unrestricted freedom and what it means to float through life.

  • thats kind of wird facgxD

  • I was walking in this galaxy just to listen to music

  • THIS MAKES ME CRY EVER TIME!!!!!!

  • @spongecrazy2002 i've listened to this song so much that i don't tear up anymore, i used to though, once i went in my room, crying so much because of the song

  • this sounds so much like garfield pet force when garfield and arlene are dancing in space.lol

  • n_n this is my favorite soundtrack from mario galaxy :')

  • I love the fact that this is the thematics for a JUNKYARD.

    That just blows my mind.

  • this music is suppose to resemble how not only our earth is polluted, but space is too. it's suppose to be sad how this galaxy once could've been a nice galaxy with....living things. this actually could resemble earth in the future, if we keep polluting our world.

  • @thebarkingpig global warming

  • @thebarkingpig Which is a really amazing thing about how they projected it so succesfully.

  • @thebarkingpig ....what?

  • @thebarkingpig in about 50 (hope its 50 kinda cool to fly in space) to 100 years or so when space travel is more effecient cheaper and faster i unfortunatly expect parts of our solar system to look like this galaxy

  • @thebarkingpig Life obviously has a plan for us, and we somehow "pollute" the earth with earth's materials. So technically we aren't polluting, we are harvesting things from the earth and turning them into something different. These things were already on the earth. If you have something, you can't destroy it. "Mass cannot be created or destroyed." So according to how you think of it, we were always living in a polluted world.

  • @mechaspark1 We've transformed those things into things that aren't so easily decomposed and nature cannot use as easily.

A beaver needs a tree, but what is it going to do with a tire.

  • @madogmgd Do you think a "tire" would somehow stop a "beaver" from getting to a tree? If a beaver had nothing then a tire would do better than nothing at all. Really, earth has suffered SO MANY tragic events, and you think a tin can will make the earth blow up? This is why I question peoples logic, they think about objects that were already on the earth as a horrible thing. Those things already can't be permanently removed, because as I said, "Mass CANNOT be created or destroyed."

  • @madogmgd I'm done arguing though, because from my experiences, all people do is disagree.

  • this music sounds so much like port blue (adam young/owl city) :D

  • So touching D'x

  • pretty music *snoooooorrrrrrre* whu-what? oh, pretty music. *snore*

  • This music made me cry (T_T)

    So beautiful

  • homework doing music

  • I feel as if I've been negleting the first SMG because the sequel impressed me so much more; but now looking back I can see that both games are absolutly MANDITORY

I'm assuming that the "U" in Wii U will no doubt be UNIVERSE; all that we could do is wait for Nintendo to amaze and inspire us once more (Please have a Metroid inpired level, that'd be hilarious XD, you putting a Zelda level in 3D land, so why not?)

  • @Marioshi64 Eh, I prefer the first game to the second game in my opinion. The green star hunt makes SMG2 unnecessarily long.

  • I think this sounds alot like Midna's Lament from Twilight Princess. The begining at least.

  • it´s very relaxing

  • best song in Mario Galaxy

  • I actually cried to this

  • @TheMarinePlanet i did too the first time i heard this. i still sometimes tear up if something bad is happening...

  • @TheMarinePlanet I did shed over 9,000 tears because of this.

  • the song is ALMOST perfect

    9/10

    but why not 10/10

    BECAUSE IT ENDS!

  • @2coastercrazy In the game it doesn't. It was written to loop infinitely.

  • 3:33 was the worst part

  • Is it me or do I have starbits in my eyes?

  • @vnilla2ylight i think i do 2

  • This song is so beautiful it makes me want to cry at the good times I used to have when I was very little when I look up to the stars and see them shooting way up to the moon

  • 0:56 Sounds slightly like Chrono Trigger

  • Thank God for auto-capitalize and auto-grammar! I would never have got any grammar or capitalization right! This is amazing. Crap..... Auto-capitalize didn't capitalize amazing at all....

  • that's such a calm music until 0:57

  • for my it´s a song nostalgic un little sad

more that all the part of piano

  • for my it´s a song nostalgic un little sad

  • Anyone else noticed how similar this song is to Midna's lament from Zelda Twilight Princess?

  • @zshaikh13 The bass line is similar with its arpeggiated mounted

  • @zshaikh13 :O omg yeah!

  • @zshaikh13 It's funny you should bring it up, because there are other examples of past similarities to Nintendo's music in their games (ex: Teresa Waltz - Ricco Harbor). Anyway absolutely fabulous song - the creator of this music is a genius.

  • @zshaikh13 I just realized it as I read your comment!

  • @zshaikh13 Yes! when I first heard this song, I thought it was the same one!

  • This almost made me cry

  • sad. just plain sad. SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • @maddy2pez It almost made me cry to.

  • I am speechless. (moment of silence)

  • 'Bout time Koji Kondo came to compose Mario VGM.

  • *Piano* fading away.........song done....... THANK GOD FOR THE REPLAY BUTTON!!!!

  • When I hear this song, I can practically see the universe and its beauty opening up in front of me.

  • Galaxy owns Sunshine. Just my opinion. Galaxy owns. Along with Galaxy 2.

  • @TheBiggamer64 Galaxy owns EVERY game. <3:)

  • @cinnamonducks indeed. <3

  • NINTENDO HOW CAN YOU MAKE GOOD MUSIC LIKE THIS?!?

  • Zzzzzzzz

  • How come beautiful isn't one of the most over used words on the internet? This would definitely describe this!

  • @RBdude98 Nobody can spell it.

  • @RBdude98 that's because "epic" already took that spot unfortunately.

  • @theluigifan1 That is really an EPIC fail for the people who cant afford another word.

  • @RBdude98 lol ya.

  • maybe this is the reason on why im playing smg

  • WHY IS THIS SONG SO GOOD!

  • Standing on that rocket and looking up at the quasar stretching out across the stars with this music in the background brought a tear to my eyes...

  • @RobWithStyle you know that was Olimars ship in the first Pikmin game?

  • @Justanormalishguy Yeah, it was a nice touch! Although I was sad to see the Dolphin just floating there abandoned...

  • @RobWithStyle yeah... well, i think i know where the presedent all of his junk... :'(

  • @Justanormalishguy Spent ages repairing that ship. And what happens when I get back to my home planet? The President sells it to pay off a debt that was Louies fault to begin with...

  • @RobWithStyle yeah... all so louie gets stuck on that planet, on a NEW ship...

  • My favorite song in the game!

  • This theme fits the level perfectly. So serene like space. It feels like the song is floating.

  • Love The Piano Music!

  • This music reminds me of the sweetest and best dreams.

  • Sniff...I miss Silvagunner T_T

  • @ecy1712 you now have gilvasunner...

  • Makes me Wanna Walk Outside and Say Helo to everybody

  • Poor galaxy, got ruined by civilisation. Evey flower, every tree, gone. Only junk and bugs live in this dead galaxy...

  • I've got star bits in my eyes!

  • This song has a very lonely feel to it. It's haunting and beautiful.

  • wow 15 people are heartless enough to dislike this ... people or bowsers minions, space junk is just so moving

  • how can you dislike this!?

  • the orchastra is so amazing, how they come up with this music is beyond imagination

  • It's so..... outer-worldly.

  • I..have..no words to say for this máster piece..i called this song "peaceful song" reminds me my grandmother (crying) =.(

  • @rarroyk1 sorry about ur grandmother, i lost my grandfather in march, and we were very close, so i understand how you feel

  • @NewYorkFan1994SRHS thanks she always taked care of me...have a fun week dude

  • There needs to be a title for this song. I know "Space Junk Galaxy" is a nice level, but for this beautiful piece needs a proper name.
