PAP or any other Governments enforcing NS via penalty (abuse of Article 9 Declaration of Human Rights) are Undemocratic Human Rights abusers. Only rogue governments will deny exemption .

If the RIGHT TO MAKE CHOICES is taken away by threat of punishment, it becomes a HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE. It does not matter how many months or years the programme is, or what values it may impart, Article 15 of the Human Rights Constitution has been trampled on. It is a matter of principal, this is the essence of Democracy.
As in the case of Iran or North Korea. Yes they have a right to build Nukes. No one can 'tell' them what to do or threaten them. But as long as they do not use the weapons, it would be like USA's 2nd Amendment. So if someone chooses to abstain from Military Conscription, is it right that they are punished?
