Of course it's not playback! I think you guys should check out the new Star One CD by Arjen Lucassen when it's released. Tony is participating on the album and I'm pretty sure that Arjen would never let a guy WHO CAN'T SING appear on his album.. So can you guys just skip the fucking trash talking and just enjoy this incredible voice Tony possess! He's back and he sounds better then ever!

Unfortunately I have to agree with you. It's gotta be playback. Lets just leave it at that. Tony is a great guy, and has released some of the best music ever made. The playback is obviously very disappointing, but the Headless Cross songs are probably too far out of his live-range now.

I pity those people who thinks it's playback. You obviously don't hear those bad notes he takes through the clip, which means you can't recognise and, to a larger extent, appreciate godly singing like the album version of this song! On the album version I can hear only one bad note. The rest is great... this; not so much.

Well, probably you haven't seen Tony Martin live recently like I did (in a lot of places),so I really know what I'm saying.

Just listen to the album version and you'll find that this Nightwing is the same, just pitchered down a bit. In some points Tony adds is live voice and we can hear that. There are other clips of this tour where Tony forget to sing and you can hear his voice clearly coming from nowhere, and it is not made from Geoff. A ghost? I'm a big fan of Tony, really, but this is shit!

I saw Tony Martin in 2005 and he sung in an impressive way, but avoiding some of the high notes, this to not destroy his voice, still great, but not at his best after the problem he had during the 1995 Black Sabbath tour.

Tony didn't perform Nightwing at that time even if, I assure you, he sung really good.

But here, it's a real shame, it's so obvious he's in playback: first, it sounds exactly like the album version, even if pitchered down; second, he can't sing anymore these high notes.Shame!

Tony Martin is singing this live, it's real obvious.

So many things prove that he is, including the fact that he has lowered the tuning of the song by one step (A semitone down on guitar) so it is more possible for a 52 year old to get the high notes...

along with intensive training before his cancelled tour in the US.

This is amazing, he sounds better than ever I think... Good on you Tony!

You assholes! he IS singing live! you can notice by 5:12 take a really good look at his neck. You can see his veins, and that means his singing his balls off, and DID A GOOD JOB for a 52 year old man. This sounds like the Headless Cross tour itself. And by the end of the video you can see at 6:22 that he looses his voice a bit. THAT'S BECAUSE HE SANG LIKE HELL THE HIGH NOTES!

EDtrader i work as a sound engineer and unfortunately it is a playback....

technology does miracles...

the vocals are lower in key and it is a piece of cake to do this nowdays...

as for the venue and if it is possible to do playback its also a piece of cake...just a metronome and a lap top (as you can see jeoff nichols has one one stage) are needed....

and i say it again....THE MUSICIANS PLAY LIVE!!!tony is playbacked...

but we love tony and this doesnt change,.....

But other than that the microphone doesnt control playback. The sound systen does. Even if it is playback him playing with the microphone has nothing to do with it. He uses his best voice for the main part of the song then takes it easy during the last. Just like hank williams jr and ronnie van zant do/did.

and compare for example the 0:59-1:19 and also 6:15 till the end...

its clear that that the ending is with his real voice and it has nothing to do with the rest ofr the previous track :(

the same things with the other tracks...

check headless cross...its exactly the same voice with 1989...

i think that he took a soundboard rec. from a 1989 live,extract the voice and place it today just for a live feeling
