  • Anyone know all the words?

  • Yeah verily yeah. This is a great movie and I still have yet to buy it on Bluray.

  • My favourist movie too.

  • love all his stuff !

  • Does anyone know who played the Knight in the turquoise and silver outfit at 0:30? He looks wonderful, I never got why Princess Gwendolyn (Angela Lansbury) wouldn't have wanted to marry him!

  • @RAMINDAS The Knight in turquoise wasn't the knight she was suppose to marry. She was bethroved to Sir Griswold, the heavy set man with the beard, at 6:04 .

  • The makers of Shrek must have been inspired by this movie.

  • The Zouaves from Jackson, MI!

  • "Good stock. Good battle. Goodbye" xD

  • This is the funniest part of the whole movie!! Love Danny Kaye!

  • Genial, Danny Kaye, entre muchas pellículas, no podría decir donde demuestra más su gran talento....

A ver si nos vuelven a poner en España de nuevo sus peliculas.........

  • In one word -

    PERFECT

  • this movie was one of my favorite!!! the first time i saw i was 11 years old and i laughed so much! thanks!!

  • Sigh. I really don't get old movies. I don't get how this is funny. I'm just looking for the damn "Get it? Got it. Good" part. (in context, not just the stupid 2-second clip)

  • *wipes away tears of laughter*

Sheesh, they don't make 'em like this anymore! Every director who wants to do comedies should have to watch this one here - and all the other great classics. Maybe they'd manage to come up with something truly funny, that way.

  • Welcome, Sir Griswald, your beard is full of hair;

And do I say welcome, or do I say, "NEEEEIIIGH!!!!"

  • lol i still love this movie thanks fmr the post

  • Thanks a million for uploading this. I saw this as a kid and literally rofl'd at this. Seeing it as an adult again, I'm still laughing. Danny Kaye was awesome, but you have to give credits to those extras marching in line with him - I can only imagine how many rehearsals it took to pull that off, and they pulled it off well. This is just pure, classic comedy gold.

  • Thank you so much for putting this up! This has always been one of my favorite movie scenes :)

  • "Good Stock, Good Battle, . . . Good Bye!"

  • this is so short.5 words.get it got it good.

  • I first saw this flick when I was 9.

I have NEVER forgotten this scene.

This, and the "Vessal with the Pestle holds the Brew that is True"

were SEARED into my mind by the raw force of me laughing my little ass off.

  • Gynnis Johns was a fine fox too...

And now we know where that idiotic saggy pants look, so popular today, originated.

  • Man given half a chance I'd boink Angela Lansbury.

  • Danny Kaye is the best!

  • Amazing movie! I don't think it was speeded up, though it must have been, somehow. If you fastforward it, it is soo funny, because they're just blurs!! :P

  • @FoxySpiritOfJazz Not sped up. Just looped several times, run forward then in reverse, then forward again starting at 3:30 .

  • Thanks, I kind of knew that already... Not to sound rude, but it is pretty obvious. But thanks anyway :) :)

  • @FoxySpiritOfJazz Reminds me of the Lady Gaga "Bad Romance" video at 2:48 .

  • Not a fan of Lady Gaga myself. Truth be told I hate her, so, I wouldn't have seen the Bad Romance video on TV without not putting my fingers to my eyes.

  • I'm wondering if they were filming this with the actors moving at normal speed, or if they were slightly sped up?

Either way, the cartoonish appearance of it all it so hilarious!

    Viv la Danny Kaminski!

  • I love a good Danny Kaye movie. My MOM was only a year old when this movie was released. He is so very talented.

  • Ah...Danny Kaye... I think I was the only 13 year old that knew who he was. One of my fav's out of all the Kaye films! I actually have a movie lobby card from this film!

  • Do you think this is where MC Hammer got the idea for that dance to Super Freak?

  • hahaha thats funny

  • this is inspired silliness.

  • one of my favorite-est movies EVER. <3 <3 <3

  • Yea, verily, yea.

  • What does he say during the Ceremony? YAY BEVERLY YAY?

  • hahaha.

    Yea, verily yea.

  • Yay, merrily yay. :-)

  • this movie just cracks me up every time I see it, especially this part lol

  • ....I can still hear that foot-pounding rumble as they stomped and drilled those formations on that big wood platform..and I can still see them leap over the wall at the end in one giant ROAR! And that old 1930's truck. wow. Thank you for posting this clip, and God bless you! The Zouaves were a major inspiration in my life at that time....they made a great impression!!!

  • WOW--I finally found The Jackson Zouaves!! During the 1960's, I was a member of an Upper Michigan drum and bugle corps, and we competed and marched field shows and parades at all the American Legion convention...and MANY TIMES I would see the Zouaves perform in person. It was magnificent! Until I found this clip, they were only a memory of over 46 years ago.....more...

  • i love this movie!!! this is my favorite part also!!

  • This is my family's favorite part. Everytime I watch this, I just chuckle. Great stuff!!! I wish they made stuff like this today!

  • Has to be my favourite part of the film, so funny.

  • Thanks lindy. Just so you know, my father was the Zouave that took Danny Kaye by the elbow as they passed by him. I remember him saying what a great time they had while making this picture and he just loved Danny Kaye and the rest of the cast.

  • How can anything be this funny??!!!

  • I just saw the whole movie and I laughed at it all. But I cried at this part, because I laughed so hard. Ha, Ha, sigh --- I Love Danny Kaye! God Bless His Soul. "And thanks to your drill team father and uncle, and all the people who made this movie possible!"

  • My father and uncle were memebers of the drill team in this picture.

  • Het blijft humor.......... :)

  • I meant to say I've seen the dance scene before.

  • When I saw MC Hammers video You Can't Touch This I knew I'd scene it before. Danny Kaye was the inspiration.

  • omg the best part of the movie!!!!:D :D

  • you mean the best part of the best movie? :D

  • This movie is full of best scenes...!

  • Thank you.

  • Yea, verily, yea.

    AHAHAHAHAHA!

  • Classic movie! I can just watch this part over and over again. Gotta love Danny Kaye <3

  • Ahhh, I love this! =) Thanks for posting!
