  • Piękno absolutne !

  • @david1234lee He belongs to the new styles of Tai Chi. The main goal is to win competition. So it is more like pretty gymnastic . The classical Tai Chi is base on the fundamentals of human mechanics. The moves perform as a solid whole so you could be ready for" push hands"-- the real combat practice of Tai Chi. Old schools are very critical of this; saying it never stand a chance under the push hand test.

  • Absolutely beautiful, flowing movements!! I wasn't aware that the24 forms could be executed in such a way. I'm a newbie (3wks) in Tai chi and although I've seen some other students flow thru the movements like swans, I'd never imagine it could be like this. Beautiful, that's all I can say. Can't comment on technical moves , etc. as I don't feel qualified.

  • I think he has too many independent movements, as well. From the toes, through the legs, controlled by the waist and expressed through the fingers. The movements are strung together like pearls on a string. Independent movements are not taichi. But he looks good in other ways!

  • Liuvtaiji, if you are better, upload your video or go to learn in China the Jibengong....

  • @iluvtaiji, i don't see you being called prince of taichi, don't make comments about people being incorrect so easily. you can say it's different from what you're taught, but you obviously have no credibility to be saying someone's doing their things wrong.

  • finaleclipse06 if u don't know an dhav ebeen doing taichi plse don't talk Ok ! U are absolutely very very very wrong to cast such remarks u are not a Master neither u speak like one? real rubbish u ! cut it off ok Them u...fool!

  • Also, I'd say if you want to see taiji used with fighting applications, go watch a video of Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming performing taiji.

  • As far as the martial arts vs. sports taiji argument, it think in this day and age it does depend on your motivations for learning taiji. That said, I don't ever plan to use taiji for fighting if I can help it, but I do think that it's still very useful to know the martial arts applications, because that knowledge helps you get the most out of your practice. So, basically, I think it's good to be holistic in your study of taiji, no matter your goals for your practice.

  • @FinalEclipse06

Yep, the different learning movitation will lead to learn different Taichi style. That is the idea to differentiate "Sport Taichi" from those traditional Taichi. It is fair to say : Not to criticize the new Taichi by the traditional standards, such as knee/toe/injury/implication/ application stuffs. So, it is legitimate to say the traditional Taichi with abundant implication / application/ restriction is very different from the "New Taichi".

  • As far as the way he bends his knees, I've read about a Taiji master (I think it was one of the recent ones, but I don't remember his name off the top of my head) who could bend his knees like that just fine, but when his students did it that way, some of them ended up with knee trouble. For all I know, the guy in the video may be able to do it just fine without worrying about knee trouble.

  • @FinalEclipse06

As for the knee, FYI, Song Ji-jen, 宋志堅 founder of Yijen 易簡 Taichi in Taiwan. Mr. Song claim his Taichi inspired by Chen Meng-chi, CMC,鄭曼青, but he is only one in the traditional Taichi field, ask students to have knees go over toes. Though Yijen Taichi is popular in Taiwan. Taichi practitioners, including CMC's students, do object the method he taught. As for the "knee" part is regarded as a joke.

  • I haven't been practicing Taiji for very long (less than a year), so I'm not sure if the whole "knee over the foot" thing is as bad as it's made out to be. Although, the supporting arguments about the bubbling wells cavity and rooting in the feet do make a lot of sense (I know a little bit about Qigong; just getting started with it).

  • China 太极 ok

  • The good part of "NEW Taichi" is get more attention and set-up for competition. So, for young ones are ok to start with "NEW Taichi". While traditional Taichi is something what you can do for the rest of your life. A suggestion for those who practice the " New Taichi" : Better watch out to hove your knees point the same direction as your toes. That is important to avoid knee injury, and is the basic to integrate the strength from your feet.

  • This could be a perfect 24 forms Taichi demo, but too much away from the traditional Taichi. The critical differences, in my opinion between traditional and the "NEW" Taichi(Gymnastic) are 1. The real Taichi can fight(self-defense). 2. The real Taichi allow your capability (kung-fu) to grow through despite of your age.

  • great ! thanks for posting this video.

  • @alger369 ur comment is just a rubbish , no value at all, rubbish

Wonderful !!

  • Oh mine! He has incredible control, his movements flow like water, his body and limbs float like feathers. Incredible!

  • I want to know the background music too! Any clues?

  • So beautiful, charming, fantastic, poetic like , i just love TAI CHI

  • Very nice, beautiful What a skill! Uauuuu!

This music is a dream !

    Thank you!

  • @taipawong

  • beautiful movements love the music too thank you.

  • what music ? =D

  • Maravilloso gracias por este video

  • man, he can stand on one leg for so long. i'd have crashed!

  • Sencillamente fantástico

  • This is absolutely outstanding Video that I have even seen ! What a beautiful

performance with relaxing music! He deserved to be called the" Prince of Taiji! "

  • very good

  • does not his knee go too far forward on the "bow" stances? Also, forward lean on same stances (which is a form but did not think it was 'correct' for these moves) ? Also, quite noticeable rise/drop on stepping ...

  • @garyslinn I agree

  • @garyslinn

Yes, his knee is a major complaint of mine as well. It definitely moves far beyond the bubbling well. This can be seen clearly in 'Grasp Sparrows Tail." Second, he is constantly bouncing up and down like waves in an ocean. He is not keeping an even head / body level throughout the form. This can be clearly seen in his "Wave Hands like Clouds."

But his single leg kicks are the best I've ever seen.

  • @garyslinn ;

Do not judge his performance based on what you learnt from your teacher. Search the youtube for taiji competition, watch how they move, their postures, etc....Chensitan was taught that way as a young man. The camera angle can distort your view. That's why the beginners are never encouraged to buy DVD and learn taiji from DVD. Your eyes can play a trick on you. Different angles look different on video. Be careful.

  • @pribadi8406 It is all very well to say be careful, and that he was taught this way of doing it. For all I know he has executed some method of performing it to absolute perfection. I question that method of execution. Are you saying that 1) his knee does not extend so that the knee cap/joint goes beyond his toes ? 2) that he does not lean forward in some postures ? 3) that he does not rise/fall on many steps ? I question these, not his execution. I believed these to be wrong in Yang style canon

  • he is good. but not the best. it is all relative.

  • This is an excellent performance of Tai-Chi. He kooks like butterfly moving in slow motion and the clothes help the movements look as though his is floating. Lovely!!!

  • Thank you!

If not the best I've seen , the second best!

    N I've seen alot

  • It looks slow motion, but you can feel a lot of internal power around

  • Chinese beauty

  • beautiful

  • Beautiful, so fluid, though at times his knees do extend over his toes which is not good!

  • Thanks super!

  • Watch popular TVShows at W W W . TV-Vide . NET

  • For me he is the god of Tai Chi. His movements are so soft and lovely.

  • aren't his knees bending too much?

  • the spirt of taichi is rest .this man's fingers shows he is nervous.remember:rest is import .ofcourse he is very good.

  • Well, let's not discuss the real Tai chi. The philosophy of Tai Chi is self learning martial art, my coach used to tell me this. You're not competing with others, you compete with yourself.

Even while you're sparing, you learn through your partner, still, you compete with yourself and improve everyday. So, don't judge others, because Tai Chi is self-improving martial art, though we tend to practice it for health.

  • Very beautiful!Is like spiritual dance,Love it!

  • @servanties1234567

EXCELLENT comment. Your teach taught you well.

  • I Factually like to feel his chi(qi)(no homo);a very blk blessed by this ,individual who loves & adores tai chi had to comment....Please descend on my training to go pro boxer..RIP David C.(Tai Chi master/actor)

  • could feel his qi~

  • Very very nice...

    He is very skilful...

    A master of this form.

My concern is if I tried that my knees would pop out... (dislocate)

Does there seems to be a tremendous amount of force applied on a turning and bent knee?

Can anyone acheive this level of flexability?

Or do you have to have the bone structure in the first place?

Never the less he is amazing.

  • this guy is chen sitan. He is the prince of Taichi competition forms such as 24 and 42 etc. If you guys are so negative about this spectacular performance, show us want you do here and let us judge you. You have your foot in your mouth. If you want application go for the Traditional forms and probably Sanshou. Then you can argue away on what was usable and what was just showmanship. We all have opinions to respect.

  • @ditgodin

EXCELLENT comment. I totally agree with you. I have been trying to tell those morons who kept judging good taiji performance from their NARROW-MINDED views of application of taiji martial arts, etc.....

  • que espectacular, son unos fenomenos estos chinos

  • iluvtaiji .....no really ok from the video point of view it looks like but being a taiji master well known...i don't think he does'nt know...it looks perfect to me ok I am a taiji practitioner of more than 20 years!!!

  • Hmmm... if you look carefully, the very very basic rule of not "extending the knee beyond the toes" have been violated throughout. This is structurally incorrect and will harm the knee. This basic rule applies not only in Taichi but all exercises.

  • @iluvtaiji i'm sorry that is actually a myth you have no idea what you are talking about. not extending the knee beyond the toes only apply to newbies who can't even bend over to touch their toes with their knees straight, it is used in group exercises as a general catch-all guideline to prevent injuries.

  • tai chi is a martial art. seeing it become a performing art pains me to no end.

  • totally agree with you. This guy does not understand what real tai chi is and what is inside tai chi. It's a shame nowadays tai chi become a performing art!!

  • @hongdeng ,

Another moron. Always judging other performers from" fighting" point of view. Chen Sitan performed well for 24 form. He did exactly what the creator of this 24 form had in mind. It has always been a shame TAICHI becomes a Fighting style. It should be for health especially for seniors, NOT for moron like you who wants to fight, fight, fight. Medical doctors recommend Taichi exercise for people who have some sort of disabilities, aches and pains...etc...

  • @dxuhuang,

Like wise, it pains my butt every time I read comment about "fighting style" of taichi exercise. In reality, taichi has NO form...whatever you said about martial arts...is called limitation. So just enjoy the performing arts by an excellent artist.

  • This guy is really, REALLY good. I train with a Chinese national Wushu champion, and this gentlemen's Taiji is correct in all ways.

  • Go and buy his video and learn this kind of perfection for the taichi 24. Very very good and nice leg and foot and body work. I think no one can ever achieve his style and perfection.See more of his VCD and learn the right thing for taichi. He is the greatest.Cheers and see more of his VCDs and nice music.Kennie

  • First of all it´s not good to learn from a vcd.

Then he´s really not that good.

  • Some people might think 24 movement is the most simpliest form, but if one can achieve this perfection, it will set the fundation of other forms. I love all the details in the foot-work and eye-gazing. He can probably do better, but this vidoe lets me know how far away I am still.

  • good

  • This man has reached perfection, to me it is the best 24 forms performance ever demonstrated, with my total admiration, thank you Sir !!!

  • @coreenhillion I can't rembered all these types.

  • Comment removed

  • I am living in USA. I like it very much. Does any one know where I can buy this beautiful piece of video or the music?

  • @MyOLdSam ,

go to any chinese book stores to buy his vcd. ...good luck. ChenSitan has his won website. Go check it out. Even though, I am not fond of Chen Sitan's performances except his 42 taiji sword, he is still one of the best.

  • It is a truly beautiful performance. However, I have seen better in Wuweisi, in Dali, Yunnan; in the people's park of Chengdu; and in the gardens of Tsinghua University in Beijing. There are modest masters out there. That said, this is indeed beautiful.

  • Do you know where I can buy this piece of video or download the video or even the music? I am living in USA.

  • yes, go to google, and google

" how to download youtube video"

its legal and really easy for people who arent good with computers,

    google has answers to everything!

  • I don´t think that it´s legal(at least not in my country).

  • why not?

  • are you referring to the first or the second sentence?

  • Answering your question to manhuazhenren, this guy is okay for the showy style of taiji, but his form is divorced from the martial nature of the art. He's strong in the legs, stays low throughout and doesn't bob his head up and down much, but it doesn't look like he's thinking about fighting applications.

For example, if you look at the single whip low form, that's supposed to be a defense against a kick with a leg sweep and a push at the end. His pushes and punches lack power too.

  • @mutatron

You think TOO MUCH in term of "application" of this simplified 24 form. For once, can you just get rid of that POISON in your head about fighting style? The enemy is within you, man. NEVER outside. Play your taichi well, you will KNOW who you are.

Learn your Shaolin Boxing or Taekwando or KICK Boxing....if you like fighting style. Application style will look UGLY never intended to look pretty. Chen Sitan is one of the best performers there is.

  • @pribadi8406

You are absolutely wrong if you believe Taiji is not used for fighting. It is an absolute myth that Taiji is only meditation or to look pretty. These moves have specific applications, hence why each move has a specific name. Two great examples are: 'Play the lute," which is really a Chi Na move to break someones elbow, and "Needle and Sea Bottom" which is literally pushing someone's intestines into his pelvis.

  • @pribadi8406 Nevermind that most importantly in Taiji is the root, being rooted properly over the bubbling well. Why? So that you can not be uprooted and thrown to the ground, b/c again Taiji is a combat art. Wu style first teaches the Dragon Walk, and typically it takes 1-2 years to learn the first move - how to move without unrooting yourself. This is b/c, again, it is for combat purposes.

Finally, your attributing Tae-kwan-do to Taiji is truly insulting.

  • @DopoNotte ;

I do not care who your master is, there are many ways to perform taiji exercise. Forget about the martial art form, there is another area called SPORTS taiji competition. ChenSitan is multi-gold medalist. he is a wonderful performer. Please remove your comments about being rooted etc. Taiji is a combat art, BUT what the common folks do are Taiji Exercise. They are the ones who popularize the taiji sports, without them, the masters will go hungry w/o students :-)

  • I don't think you have seen much more perfection then this one. Chen Si Tang is one of the best Taiji Quan performer of the world as I know

  • Marvelous performance, one of the best(if not the best) I have seen so far (and I've seen a lot). Great for self-practice and polishing your techniques.

  • His hands work is so smooth and I feel power even.

  • The music so peaceful. I love all his video's music.

What a beautiful music. I love all his video's music. They all feel calmly.

The prince of Taiji. You cannot find a better 24 style demonstration around. I think this set of 24 style is simply marvelous. Imagine if you can fight like that. Thanx for the posting.

  • fluid!

  • Et Tino sent la moufette

  • Anton es encore plus fif

  • arette le crack men

  • TIMAN ES FIF

  • Wow, this is a great demonstration. I am impressed with the fluidness and the perfection of form. Thanks for posting it.
