this illustrates brilliantly that you don't have to be an interesting or likeable person to be a good musician. the reason we tire of those in the public eye could be that we ask more than they can offer; though he can produce and dj, this man can't make us think or charm us. this vid is proof of that, which makes the sycophantic vid itself smell like a fart in a lift
you couldnt be more wrong ive met him twice and got invited to the studio and then he put me on the v.i.p lists to two clubs.what do you do for a living bet you work in mcdonalds !
All the influences of Mo Wax were basically everything that was cool at the time. Old skool Hip Hop/Trip Hop Graf/Star Wars Stussy/Carhartt Evisu etc Apart from a few good tunes you could sum it up as - Style over content. (Block parties in Oxford for fucks sake!)
we can know..maybe he is simple mind dj..or maybe what is more probable he dont want to share his private , innate point of view with public.. i am not sure that empty person could make music like that ..that would be big paradox...
In 1996 Mo' Wax released one of electronic music's most celebrated albums, DJ Shadow's seminal Endtroducing...... Soon after this Lavelle started work on an album with DJ Shadow under the name UNKLE.
