  • Hey check out my channel! Dublin city working mans band FAN CHANNEL!

  • I saw them live a couple of weeks ago in Hammersmith and they were absolutely FANTASTIC! None of their videos do them justice. They have to be experienced live. They put so much energy into these old songs, I couldn't sit still all night. They told hilarious jokes in between songs and they look like they're having a great time as well. For the penultimate song, they spontaneously invited a trio of young men "Hammerstep" to dance - and they were brilliant, too! So fast and agile.

  • Thanks to Larry the fiddle player & his friend Anthony for a great evening of music & humour last Friday.

  • Love the high energy of this version.

  • the guy with the little mohog rocks

    who agrees

  • Great version. Love it!

  • I'm not Irish unless you go back 3 or 4 generations on one side, but I've a great interest. My Soodlum's songbook says this is a lively and popular ballad sung very quickly, so fair play they are doing a grand job here I'd say.

  • Ok I have to comment, I would say that when you watch them they have some serious energy going, look at them they are moving and the lead singer cant stand still, I mean singing faster makes something energetic, yes I like the dubliners version to but if you wanted to go workout what version would you listen to to keep your energy up?

  • I'd put on Rage against the machine or L.C.D. Soundsystem instead!!!

Its forced energy though and thats the worst type. It's not natural.

    FAKE.

    :(

  • i dont know what LCD soundsystem is but I do love rage, but why do you think it is forced energy? I didnt think you could force energy you either have it or you dont.

  • you have no idea what your on about, you haven't seen this band live. They are not from Dalkey, they are workingmen, a lot of them are builders. Learn their backgrounds before you go shoutin yer gob off about them.

  • This is a great rendition of a great song. So much energy!

  • great version, I like it when the energy is up!

  • great stuff

  • Sounds manic, this version!

  • I like how folk they are and how dress so youthful against that.

  • one of the best versions of this song i've ever heard.

  • There IS no bad version of this song. Just some are better...lol.

    This one's a keeper.

  • Truly good indeed. so much passion, realy makes it.

  • Trust Me,... the Dropkick Murphys version is gorgeous

  • yeah its my favorite too... all the versions are good though

  • an AMAZING version - has a much better tempo!

  • I have a version myself... jay tiernan rocky road to dublin....

  • luke kelly's version... 10 times better.

  • fully agree...

  • Orthodox Celts version is better...

  • Omg, i had to play that in my violin concert and it was like really hard.. could never get it that good though.

  • Maybe the most difficult song to sing. Great work. I will be looking up this band.

  • Best Version! ;)

  • if u think these guys are good go check version from orthodox celts

  • I also think this is a nice energetic version of this song, and it is hard to play this one.

Hey, someone once told me that people who see someone else as boring are only themselves BORING. From what I know, it's true.

  • thats isnt bad..

  • Love the song, nice cover of it!!!!

Would love to learn more about your band.

Please come to The United States!

PS: Throw an electric guitar and a bass in there, and you guys would be worthy of competeing with Dropkick Murphy's, Flogging Molly, and the likes!
