@weaponexpert1 Not at the time. This would have had a Windsor 302 while the 82 DeVille would have had that godawful 4.1L V8. When you're talking about better Cadillacs, it's wholly contingent on year and model.
I recall it was common in the early 1900s for car makers to have Presidential names - of course only one of these nameplates outlasted the depression.
As for the Town Car, it would dwarf Ford's largest Euro of the time, the Granada (a different animal entirely from the US Granada) and even likely the Australian Ford Fairlane/LTD...
@joh2 Just imagine if they came out with a car named after President "Taft", the fattest U.S. President, ever, but at least he accomplished his real dream of becomming a Supreme Court Justice--So I Guess the add Campaign could go something like this, "Dream Big"--LOL!!!

My dad had a 1984 from 1998-2001...it was a POS because it was old and high mileage... but it was very nice when it was newer (:
On the other hand, my grandma has a 1994... it's still a pretty nice car.
