I'm born in the 90's(in Sweden, but i love the Swedish versions of all the songs in this wonderful classic), and i'm happy to have grown up with wonderful classics. But saddly, the 90's turned into the 2000's(if that's the correct use), Disney sure made a few classics at that time to, but then they all of a sudden made shitty crap like HSM etc.

What happened there?

I lost the respect for Disney right there, but it came back with PatF

The two dislikes are Scar and The three hyenas, They only have enough brain function for one dislike for all three of them. :P And Timon and Pumbaa are basically narrating the whole song, with them I think there's more emotion because they're sad that they're about to loose their best friend. So I'm glad that they are in it.

@Daruqe I actually was talking about this with someone the other day.

They're really good characters, but I think in this song, they take away from the serious tones a little too much.

In the Broadway version of TLK, Timon and Pumbaa are fantastic. They're used as pure comic relief in the traditional sense of theater, and they act like jesters to serve as filler. It works wonderfully.

Also, they don't provide an "intro" to this song during the live performance, so that's a bit different. XD

@joekido1990 At one point in production, the entire song was going to sung by Timon and Pumbaa, until Elton John protested. I'm glad they didn't do it that way, but I like the comical intro/outro from the film and missed hearing it when I listened to the OBC recording of the musical.

@joekido1990 they are my favorite characters in all of disney. i grew up with them in this movie and in their own show on disney. they were my imaginary friends and even though ive grown up and dont watch this movie everynight before bed with my blanket, chocolate milk, and timone and pumba puppets, they still mean a lot to me.
