@megadeth1818 You need a MIDI module, that is what the megadrum does. It allows you to connect your pads into Megadrum which outputs it as MIDI. No sounds on the megadrum module. You take your MIDI output and run it into your computer and run DRUMCORE, ADDICTED, SUPERIOR, BFD or any other drum sound program. Using a drum brain like the td-20 or dm6,8,10 is dumb for only 100 different kits. Using MIDI into a computer program gives you MILLIONS of different kits and sounds...
@gnialf You could use an Alesis I/O but I would rather use the MEGADRUM it is far cheaper and allows you to build your electronic kit to up to 56 different trigger inputs (you can have multiple toms, cymbals, cowbells, etc.)
@sidofan4 I'll second this question although from what I can tell you can use a midi expression pedal to trigger the software. So far I found a good result about doing this on toontrack's forum. search keyboard expression pedal on there and you should find it.
@BandaDK... It is very easy to do - check out the video on "Dual Zone Remo Practice Pad e-Drum Conversion - SEE What's Inside" by youtube member racer52online it shows HOW TO trigger the Remo pad
hahaha every drummer ive ever met is so pretentious and none of you are any exception, what this kid did was cool, and people who dont know about it find it interesting, your all the best drummers in the world, stop competing hahaha!
alisis drum modules (like the one he has) arnt the way to go .... DONT EVER BUY AN ALESIS DRUM MODULE EVER tbh never get a cheap electric kit they never trigger as well as the expensive ones(they skip sounds when u hit). i got an alesis kit n it was so bad that i literaly baught the DDrum red triggers, put mesh heads on my spare kit in hope that it would eliminate the cutting n still no good DONT EVER BUY ALESIS SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR THE BIG LEGUE KITS
@eclipsespilce .. check out racer52online here at yoututbe. there are how it is built vids as well as links to more pics and web sites on how to build. good luck
@eclipsespilce All this guy done was get some PVC plumbing pipe and looks like he made a frame and just stuck the Alesis DM6 to it with duck tape...Failing that he cut acoustic drums in half and put sensors in then heads.
I know, right! Jeez, it makes me want to scream sometimes. However, there are plenty of web forums for building your own e-kit and they usually go into great detail about how they built the sets. Do a Google search and you'll turn up some great links.

@eclipsespilce dude... buy some piezo's (piezos are like a dollar) and jack plugs.. and a old half broken drumkit and then mount the piezo's under your mesh head. DONE!
I make my own drum samples and my cymbols have triggers mounted under them and then they are muted with vinyl sheeting they are real cymbols the drums are kids drums with roland v drum heads and very similar triggering system to rolands better kits I own a studio so I have session drummers play them mostly I just made the drum kit
good, you're just showning how you have you're triggered kit, nice one. I have a video playing a chrono trigger with a triggerd set also. I wanted to aske you how did you triggered your hit-hat, did you use two triggers or an expression pedal??
honestly I've looked it up and it's a cool idea but for what it costs to make your own you're better off just buying a a dm10...
ImMyOwnSpotlight 1 week ago
My guess is he used some piezo transducers, (triggers) they cost like nothing so you can get far if you invest the money in a great drumbrain ;)

@gnialf Forget drumbrains! Midi into VST software like Drumcore 3, Superior Drummer or Battery, etc....

@jonpaul70 Oh, plus the sounds off the computer are far superior to the sounds from a drum brain like a td-20 or dm10...
jonpaul70 6 months ago
@jonpaul70 Yes but from the drums you need something to transfer midi ? (like a brain of alesis midi in/out) right

Hey there, are you using standard drum shells? What size shells are those? The Roland Mesh replacement heads seem to fit perfectly.

It's a little annoying, the multitude of these videos of guys showing off their homemade electric drums...and NEVER explaining CRAP about it.
Yes, apparently they make noise. Sure, you made them yourself. Be proud, and all that crap. But, PLEASE, Just explain how the F@#K you did it, man!

How did you place the triggers on the ride cymbal (left) to get different sounds for center and edge??
also, nice multisampling / amplitude dynamics. Would like to hear you actually play on it.

have you got peizo's attached to a roland td3... i cant get the sound of a real drum's cause i have nothing to compare...
