@schultz970 Sadly Mary Hughes died a couple of years ago of cancer. I agree with you, Mary was ahead of her time. I don't understand why she wasn't given bigger parts in Hollywood, except that Guy Hemric (the songwriter for Bikini Beach) told me all she Mary wanted to do was get married.

I could be mistaken on this, but it's my understanding that whenever they made one of these "Beach" movies, they made them around January or February, and it was cold outside. They made them then so that the movies would be ready for release when summer began. Go "Beach Blanket Bingo-ers"! LOL Nice memories!
