throwing stones makes you an amazing fighter. just ask everyone in Afghanistan, oh wait you cant because they are having their arses served to them by the west. oh well.
what i don't get is how come you can do pretty much anything in pankration Except punch them in the face. such a brutal art yet they can't do the most basic of attacks
@TheAdrokk I think punches to the face aren´t allowed due to the serious risk of injury in "friendly" competitive matches and sparring... Well, that´s just my opinion... Belive me... This is better and less brutal than the ancient greeks... Who fought with the cestus on their hands... A piece of leather that also had metalpads on it... So... It was way more violent.
According to the famed Grandmaster of the Kyokushinkai Karate system Masutatsu Oyama in his book "Advanced Karate" published by Japan Publication, Inc., Tokyo pg. 13 and i quote " The oldest known records concerning combat techiques, hieroglyphic scrolls from Egyptian tombs, dating as far back as 4000 B.C." Kwa Asilia Avita Sanaa (The Original Martial Art)!!!
Does anyone else notice how useless this style would be outside of a game? (The Spartans are the exception to this observation). It looks like Krav Maga would beat this and Taekwondo in particular. (Because the moves are too complicated for real world use. Someone would have punched you in the head before you had the chance to do some fancy high kick or wrestling grapple.)
@jones89eddead327 ...go back and re-read what you just typed, then make a new comment lol. You just said how complicated the moves are for "real world use" and you wouldn't have time for a fancy high kick, but you just said that TKD would beat it? lol.
@bloodriotiori No I didn't say that actually. I suggest you re-read what I wrote. I said Krav Maga would beat TKD (any many other martial arts) because they are so impractical e.g. TKD's fancy kicks.
@jones89eddead327 ^_^ But ya, i think this style isn't too bad, it's pretty "realistic" compared to some they've shown. But i agree, i think Krav Maga is one of the best out there for real world situations. I wish to god i had a school near me i could learn at :(
@bloodriotiori if you think about it all martial arts were for realistic situations, I think what happened is doing them as sports sort of watered them down took the practicalness of them away. ;(
@JohnyIoannis@CrazyAxelStyle @psarosupa Plato, Athenaeus, Herodotus and others were gay. They even endorsed pedophelia, called "paiderastia". Achilles and Patroclus had a homosexual relationship, Plutarch wrote the Spartans were very likely to be gay. Not to forget Sappho (where the term "Sapphic love" was coined from), from the island Lesbos, was a lesbian. Finally, the participants in the Pankration all had to be nude. Should I continue? My friend is a literary critic. I could go on all day
@GaolisVideoLog SAPPHO was supporting women rights and so the men in ancient Lesbos were afraid that she would gain power and THEY LABELED HER AS HOMOSEXUAL IN ORDER TO RUDICULE HER AND ENSURE NONE WOULD EVER LISTEN TO HER.THIS TACTIC IS STILL FREQUENTLY USED TODAY.Next time you say something give us some proof and cut that 'he said, she said'.
@GaolisVideoLog we like girl on girl on our island whats ur problem?
it must be sad that at least everyone in youtube and world of course know herodotus plato etc.. and no one knows about ur homosexual ancestors!
anyways when a man dont wear clothes that doesnt make him gay.. here in Greece we have a connection to each other that u wish u could feel some day dont comment negative what u dont understand.. and if u wanna see how man we are come to Thessalonica and go shout "u are homos"..
@Antikatastoli I don't have a problem with homosexuality. Maybe you have. Are you uncertain of your sexuality? I was just giving the other guy something to support his point. At least I'm not confused with my sexuality like you.
@GaolisVideoLog im not confused i just can't stand that everyone support the theory of every great man(Greek) is homosexual... how can u really believe that Great men where homosexual and even if they where how can we know? its an effort to make them less important on the path of history.. you guys think from things that they say i guess that they are homosexual but for a greek its totally different meaning.. but noone never cared about the actual meanings
@Antikatastoli Ofc they are, just look at their names :) (jking). That myth comes from the spartans, and their love for male brutality and strength. The way they spoke of other mens bodies and such, today, sounds very homosexual. If i were to go on and on about ur ripped sixpack, ur bulging biceps and the way ur hair flies when u wrestle, id sound gay no? Thats the way they spoke of eachother
@veshkeat hahaha you do have a point.. at todays time yes it does sound homosexual like i said but.. since ancient years we have a saying "nous ugieis en somati ugiei" means healthy mind with also healthy body" in ancient years a greek man/woman would try to look like a "statue" or if you like the perfect Aryan (not nazi) if you would study ancient greek you would see its actually very inspiring to read about ripped sixpacks hahahahaha (i swear i was laughing for 5 minutes with your post)
@CrazyAxelStyle@CrazyAxelStyle really? I hear Germany has the 3rd largest fag population after America and Australia. Maybe you should come to Greece and say that so we can give you a complete fucking over.
