  • lol

  • lol your water pump is where the fan is on the bottom front of the engine, thermostat is where the 2 radiator hoses connect. learn your shit bruh.

  • Let me tell everybody something. I have a 2002 BMW 540iA sport with 180,ooo miles on it and not one led display issue, not one crack in my leather, and not problems with anything ever. It's called maintenance. Do it. And you won't have any issues. Your car is so bad because you don't take care of it.

  • Dude! Your e39 seems battered... You can't blame Better for this

  • Wtf..1998 BMW 528i yea when I bought I dint know much bout them so I just went with it because I liked it, and I've gone to road trips every summer to california and back that's like 2000 miles never failed on my my interior is no where comepared to yours treat it like shit you'll turn it to shit . Shame on you bro.

  • The reason its saying 40 bc u dont have it in degreese

  • common this is a old old bmw series you have there ..i have a 3 series and its really nice and low fuel consumption .

  • If you use the car like a pig it will colapse!!!!

  • dude. that has to be the worst 5 series ive seen. BMW never had any problems for me.

  • use oem waterpumps the others are JUNK!

  • first off, unplugging doesnt equal repairing. look it up, fixing the alarm isn't that hard. second, idk who told you it was a good idea to put a cold air intake on the inline 6 engine but they were incorrect. trust me you will have a broken mass air flow sensor very soon as well. And you have to clean and condition that dash, those seats, etc. it will look MUCH better. idk where you live but if it's 90 out your leather will deal much better if conditioned. I hope you up your BMW pride.

    98 528i

  • @will11806 i agree with you i have my bmw pride

    07 320i

    05 mini cooper one

  • buddinz are follin ohff

  • Good video, but you missed out on one thing. When you are talking of thermal state and the water pump, this is only on 6 cylinder models. I have 330i 3 series and I have almost the same engine and I deal with the same issues on the engine. 540-545 and M3 will have different problems.

  • hahahahaha who the hell installed your stereo?!!??! that looks like shit haha

  • @xvxliftedxvx lmao I keep getting shit for it. What happen was my oem cd player died. That was only a temp fix. I wish I made the video when I had my indash navagation in. It looked alot better.

  • Seems like you got a good one. If that is all you got a bargain!

  • How a man treats his car is how a man treats himself. you obviously have not a care in the world for this poor E39 beauty, youve raped the dashboard completely your airconditioning console is about to fall, and for the love of god look at your replacement sound system, thats embarrassing. you obviously cannot afford to maintain this car, or worse you don't want to maintain the car. all i can say from this is that you arent ready to hold the BMW pride, you dont love it enough.

  • @12absinthe12 lmao I keep getting shit for it. What happen was my oem cd player died. That was only a temp fix. I wish I made the video when I had my indash navagation in. It looked alot better.

  • @MrAdk25 your e39 had an frontal crash and was repaired just for sale that`s why after 2 years it looks like that.

  • @szkpaul Yes you are right. It showed up when I did a car fax

  • i have a 1998 bmw 528i my passengerside windshield wiper stopped working all random one day while driving how do i fix this ?

also for some reason i get a burnning plastic smell for time to time when the passenger heated seat is in use plz help me with these problems i love my car

  • @ZaharahShylah its the motor . Also heated seats might need to be replaced.

  • @ZaharahShylah its not the motor if one wiper works, the nut on the passenger wiper came loose remove the plastic cover on the bottom of the wiper and tighten the 13mm nut.

  • I never understud people who replace their original CD player with a shitty one in a BMW...

  • @9Zito4 lmao I keep getting shit for it. What happen was my oem cd player died. That was only a temp fix. I wish I made the video when I had my indash navagation in. It looked alot better.

  • @9Zito4 Because the LEDs in the bloody things keep going out... I know because I have a 2001 530i and replaced the cd player twice already..

  • If your were truly a tech you would see how stupid this video really is. And by the way "car guy" the heater control panel buttons sell for about 36.00$ us for the face plate and buttons. And you can replace them individually without destroying your panel. And t stats don't last forever. So what's your bitch? It's called regular maintenance. Bet you expect your coolant and brake fluid to last forever to Hu ? Holy shit watch out for the BMW e39 when you buy it because it may need some maintenan

  • I have over 215,0000 miles on my M5. I have had the brake master, brake booster, clutch master, thermostat all replaced. The HVAC buttons break on ALL BMWs. They are def. junk. Pixels go bad on mine as well. ANother thing to watch out for is bubbling on the rear view mirror of the M5s. M5s use a different mirror. My secondary air pump is bad. My wheel hub sounds as though it is completely bad. I cant think of anything else. If you guys notice anything else going bad, please send me a message.

  • I've got an '01 E39 M5.. My dash looks like it is brand new.

The quality of the dash, is directly related to how the car was treated by previous owners.

  • @rwdONLY82 Lollollol!

  • That's how a proper gay dashboard in e39 looks like...

  • I just bought a 2001 525i. My lcd on the dash has dead pixels as well. My car has just lost reverse (5 speed auto). It's a very common problem on these cars. The factory navigation is awful. The ride is sm0oth. The engine runs great and its very comfortable. Thanks for the post.

  • hey guys ...My cars hand brake is not working, but in P only..what could be the reason?

  • @nunchaicup strain the line

  • why did you pointed at vanos solenoid instead of thermostat and water pump?

FYI your engine fan is fixed right on your water pump, it's fixed to a thermoclutch which is screwed on water pump's axis.

And the thermostat is right behind plastic thermostat housing (the thing where tube from radiator(on your right side) connects to)

  • You just got a shit second hand e39.

  • fuck you i had a bmw for 5 years and no sensers or lcd or aircondishining so you dont take care of your car dumb ass

  • oh my god!

    poor thing, poor baby.

With this owner, Its a miracle it did 100,000 miles.

  • You had to replace the radio because the pixels went bad?? The pixels don't keep the radio from working. You can get just the pixels fixed for less than $200. My e39 is 12 years old with 205,000 miles on it and the dash looks practically new (pixels were fixed at 110,000 miles). Hope that dash looks better now with the Nav installed :-)

  • Wow... Unplugging the hood alarm sensor is not a "fix" but a band-aid. Actually replacing it would be a fix.

The OAT sensor is from hitting shit or rocks hitting shit (mine is fine after 10 years).

Water pumps and cooling systems are maintenance items on most new high end luxury cars.

My 540i/6 is like brand new. You obviously don't know how to properly fix your car, or you cant afford to.

  • @killerpm oo yea ... I cant afford it.. Your an idoit.. First off all I live in New england and ther is snow .. Check out my other vidoes and you will see my new bmw x3..

    Have a good one !

  • @MrAdk25 Lots of snow in Toronto where I live and my car looks a lot more cared for then yours (yes it is winter driven). Fix the OAT sensor and the hood sensor! I am not ripping on ya, I just wouldn't call most of your things "fixes". When you replaced your water pump, did you change the housing to the metal one? Best, KillerPM

  • @MrAdk25 Also, your cluster can be repaired for a few hundred bucks. VDOR epair(dot)com does a great job fixing that issue right up. Mine was replaced under warranty and hasn't been an issue ever since.

  • @killerpm

I think its easy to chuck stones here, I thank the OP for putting up the video.

My e39 has gripes and its at leat good to hear another e39 owner sharing their eperiences. Good or bad

  • @skomil

    Please forgive the typos

  • That's neither the water pump nor thermostat...it's the VANOS solenoid. But I appreciate the video and the fact that you appreciate being a resourceful BMW owner (like me).

  • Um, your dash board is trashed?

  • @Memphis35 I know . I ended up fixing it and putting an indash Nav. I wish I took the video after so noone would be hating on me lol.

  • only problem ive had with my 01 540i is the alarm went off randomly...

  • has he ever heard of wear n tear lol

  • Good vid, planning to buy a 1999 528i with 70k miles.

  • It seems to me that only bad part is the sealing between steering wheel and drivers seat.

  • I disagree . I've had my 530 for 6 years . She is now 10 years old with 140.000 miles . Only issues I've had was corroded rear break pipes . The motor in the headlight broke which caused it to dip low . So I needed a new set of headlights . That's it apart from wear and tare items . Tyres . Break pads. . disks .

Mine is a year 2001 .Double vanos . Facelift . Angel eyes . Front rear park sensors . Very high spec . Engine uses no oil . Still strong and powerful . Hilariously smooth . Quiet .

  • i think only yours is like that

  • This is a lack of maintenance hahaha.. If you can't even repair it than don't own it. Its not a problem when you fix it. Most REAL enthusiast fix them when things go wrong.

  • dont know in what state you bought your car, but this is mine after 100k miles: w ww.shrani.si/f/3e/3e/2PLRIsAr/vinsekphototunel6-4.jpg

  • So you have like 20$ problems with bmw ,as expected ... its bmw

  • All id did to repair it was unplugged it... thats not repairing..

  • Water pump is 30 dollars. Fix it yourself.

  • Your dashboard look like shit.. Looks like someone doesnt care som much about this car.....

And F.Y.I the bad pixels can be fixed, same with the buttons in the AC controller. You can purchase a set of new ones. So thats no problem.

  • Your BMW dash looks like it's falling apart, in half. Where did you get your car from? Drug dealers? Junk yard? LOL.

  • @09feb1992 really funny, I fixed the dash with in-dash nav... So what ever at least I got a bmw..

  • @MrAdk25 i have an e39 528i with almost 500,000 miles, and the only issue i have is that it spends a lot of water, normal in any e39, appart from that, it is not the car's fault, it's yours only! and mine way older than yours... it's 15 years old now

  • @Charl3spereira Half-million mile E39? Wow that's awesome! Post a video of that odometer reading asap!

  • @830sxz Ok ... I have seen Bmw with 350,000 miles and still runs great. Just look on ebay you will see cars with high miles.

  • @MrAdk25 haha having a bmw means nothing if its a piece of shit

  • @09feb1992 That's what i was thinking.. :D If the guy just would've kept the car in condition - no problems what so ever. PS. Since when the Vanos unit turned into a water pump?

  • That's not the water pump. nor the thermostat...That's the vanos solenoid.

The AC has its own temp sensor (which does, indeed, break) and it is somewhere behind the AC control panel. The AC system does not care about your outside...

You are right about the other stuff, though :)

  • you have a funny accent sun i had issues on my 525i my navigation went out in the 2001 so i paid sum shady middle easterns 500 to put in a high text tv flats screen that titls and plays movies while i drive. The woodgrain was alos all jacked so i sent a 300 cashier check and got all titaitum pieces with the black piano granite for the center console miens standardand i went a buck thirty all the way down i10 i love the cars even though i wish i had the 282 hp v8 e39

  • well your temp unit is missing parts, falling off.The radio cover looks extremely improvized and you can actually see a big gap on top of it

  • wow ,your car is destroyed

  • @quatroportte how soo??

  • you have to realize too (not you MrAdk25) the i6's have different issues than the 4.4 V8, also the 4.9 V8

V8 issues are the rad hose

make sure the sun shades arent broke, those break easy

i had my woodtrim come loose (easy fix)

the LCD HUD on ALL e39's get dead pixels cant really do much about that, a replacement HUD is in and around $700

  • @dvaifilmsdotcom thats true . Thanks for the comment
