@gregoryagogo here is the email numark sent me on 12/19/2007 >>>>Got to play with your decks. I was able to duplicate using your unique adjustment technique shown in the video. At the moment we are looking into the DSP to figure out where the DSP is getting tricked up, but it may be a few weeks before the engineer figures this out. <<<< there's more but it contained to many characters to post here.
@gregoryagogo Nope they never did anything regarding this problem. Jacked up, i know.. i still have all the emails from numark which i need to post somewhere..
First I bought a pair of Numark TTX USB turntable. Mine had the same problem, you just coudn't mix from them. The solution for the problem was that I bought a pair of Technics MK5. I still have the TTX and I wonder if anyone has found a solution for this issue?
What a shame. This was such an awesomely designed turntable but poor quality killed it. That is why I have Technics 1210s. Technics were my second choice after having issues with my Numark TTX USBs - I return my Numarks for Techniques.
I've had my 1210s for 15 years and not one problem! I dunno why people even try to out do them with new decks. CD decks are smaller though I guess but are any of those as good...really? I'd love to know if anyone knows. As I understand it cds don't have the same frequency range as vinyl which is why in Japan they brought out super cds (which never made it over here so most my countrymen don't even know they exist). Hope all goes well with your decks ;)
I dont understand this video. Do you expect the tables to mix for you ? I take it you want to press play on the table and stand back and smile. That pitch change can be easily corrected by someone who knows what they are doing. What exactly is the problem ?
Ok so i finally contacted numark again to see if this problem has been resolved. and well i get the no it hasnt. i call this poor quality and customer service only helps out at a minimum. thank god i kept my technics. i wonder if i was grandmaster flash if i would have a new perfectly working pair. i have three friends that have regular ttx-1s and none of them do this as hard as i try. i can make the first two pairs i had do it in less than 20 seconds. sure doesnt make quick mixes easy..
Why didn't you take them back to get fixed? They were under warranty right? Why not return them to the store?
On a side note it's also interesting how Akai has gone down hill since their association with Numark btw. I've seen a ton of MPK's with messed up keys.
i agree with both opinions to a limit. techs rock, they are sturdy and they last. MY ttx's rock are definatly sturdy and also have lasted 5 years. I have the ttx digitals and i have never had a complaint. its those damn mixers out there that u have to search to find a good one.
nope they are broken, it should not go off like that - I have both Tech 1210's and also NuCrap TTX, the later is for my 8 year old to play on. The Nucrap feel cheap and plastic compared to the Technics, OK the platter is stronger on the Skidmark TTX but that would only appeal if you are VERY heavy handed
now that the patent is out you gut the super oem that eats technics alive, techs is starting to discontinue that mk2's for a reason. TTX has been around for 5 years now, and it already has a big fan base, in france the ttx is the best selling table, its popularity is just starting, techs is still legendary but.. Its Truly Truly Overhyped. TTX will be tweaked continuesly it will get there I think the Numark TTX AT was the best release no problems heard with that one.
All this get a tech shit is so BS.. technics is a tank? yea there is no motor problems and bs right? do you guys even know that its first few years it had problems.. so why do you think there is mk1-mk2 etc. repairing your techs in the long run will cause you a lot of money, and the motor will die out also, anyone who says it doesn't lies cause techs torque is low as it is, you can't tell. Techs the turntable is not a tank.. The product lasted a long time because of the patent.
They all do this brother. Since the first iteration of the TTX. I went through i believe 6 of them a couple of years ago thinking it was a defect. It's not, it's a design flaw. I finally took mine back and bought Technics (again).
" More torque and options" than a SL1200.....who cares if the crap doen't work??
Tech are tanks, and the reason they are still #1 choice for clubs and most DJ's is the fact that they have proven themselves to be reliable and stable......even used Tech's are a better option than these. There is a reason Guitar Center can sell you a new TTX for $240 out the door....at least my local one tried, these decks are prone to problems.Techs never die PERIOD
hmm took 45 seconds of messin with it trying to make it happen, and when it finally does, all it takes is a touch to fix it? you'd only do that to a record beat matching, and all this'd happen in a headphone cue anyway... who cares? More torque and options than a 1200 I love my ttx!
well bro think about this.. you buy a product for $399. should this happen at all? NO! its called quality control.. big companys like numark shouldnt sell products that do this.. even a shitty pair of 200 dollar geminis dont do shit like this.. you know what i'm saying.. and plus i do alot of quick mixing.. mashup style drop tracks quick so i may not have time to completly que up my pitch so i have to do it on the fly.. been djing now for going on 20 years so i know what to expect..
its really weird, I have the same turntables but I dont have that problem. -djflannel: i guess its not programmed on a flash that dont make sense, so it couldnt be the Firmware. i bet u can calibrate it with a poti if you have a lil bit experience on electronic.
Technics never really thought of adding stuff and looking at the DJ's needs. As a monopolist at that time, they just didn't really mind the DJ's and that's why I quit using Technics. Numark and Vestax finally came with solutions that DJ's needed.
Mine work fine. Weird.

Either the digital part is right or the light/turntable is....or they're both wrong... what was the problem?

You got a bad firmware version. Get it serviced.

I have this same problem with my Numark TTX USB!
It was serviced by autorized service (replaced electronic motor and all electronics), but fault still exists.
Sales Numark of Europe said that it is OK and no problem. The turntable meet all norms.
WTF?
