Scooby, I have a question. I am 13% body fat according to the calculator on your website (woohoo!) I would like to drop to 8-10%. I lift weights 4 days of the week (mon, tue, wed, thurs) and run for 30-35 min 3 days (fri, sat, sun). Should i continue what I am doing to gain muscle and lose fat? What is your opinion on the matter? Thanks a lot for the videos and everything too. I have been a true "scooby fan" for about a year now. Hans is a hoot!
Hey scooby! I have a great news. I did my tests again. The results were great. I am completely healthy. My liver enzyms were just increased cause of too much muscle actvity. So i stopped for 15 days as my mother ( a doctor ) said and i did the tests again. Although i wasnt care for nutriotion for 15 days and lost few kgs I am haooy because i am healthy. Tomorrow i am starting with a gym again. Thanks for support and good luck. :)

@razorfist10 you can google healthy foods. what i would recommend is.. "eat alot!" eat at least 6 times a day, break fast -> snack -> lunch -> snack -> dinner, also pre and post workout meal. never skip major meal specially breakfast. always drink at least 1 gallon of water a day. about home exercises, you can do push ups/incline and decline up. that will hit all of your chest muscles. for back it's hard without an equipment. for legs do squat and lunges. shoulders and arms buy a resistance band

I've gained 50 pounds of pure muscle in that time area and I've devoted to all my time after school to lifting, well most of it anyways, some with friends and what not. 1st. Do you like the Tanita scales that show how much fat you have?
2nd. I have followed you for a while now and I know you say can't gain muscle and lose fat at the same time and I understand you can't get huge muscle while losing a ton of fat - but is it possible to be gaining at all while losing fat? Eating enough protein to keep muscle but working out enough to lose fat? Sorry if this is a dumb question.
If you really want to know % body fat, cut your body, grind it all and put all your body parts in a centrifuge and filter/collect adipose. Then take that adipose mass and divide by total body mass and multiply by 100. All other methods are needless. If you get 10% so what there is so much uncertainty with that number it is not even funny :)
Of course these are approximate values but you see the point. Since you are trying to educate people I think it is important to educate ppl that % fat is not accurate and should not be used. OF course it is a way to sell products and exercise programs to non-scientists. The most important thing is change in behavior and lifestyle. But people still insist on knowing % fat. Kinda Dumb..
On top of that because the % fat calculators look at 1 Standard Deviation (68.66%). If your % body fat is 15% that actually means that it is 68.66% probability that your body fat will be btwn 13-18%. That doesn't seem so accurate does it. If you move to 2SD and 95% probability then getting 15% on % fat calculator is like saying 95% probable that your body fat is btwn 10-20% body fat
slimguide is cheapest but not the "most accurate". Harpenden is the most accurate but at the price of $200 you get to go into decimal digits that no human will ever need. You should also mention that the skinfold measurements vary depending on the measurer and that there are so many different equations that you should find one specific to age, sex, etc... regardless no equation is accurate enough to accurately assess what your true % body fat is.
Great vids Scoob but I dont know why you dog Creatine. It reall saved me. I was 5'11" 143 lb... very scrawny. I've put on about 20 lbs over the summer and hover around a cut 165 now with negligble fat. My self confidence is through the roof now and I'm still making gains. I was killing myself before using creatine and looked like a skeleton... Creatine does work for some and is VERY cheap. But your videos are incredible and I love the Mass Gains DVDs. Keep up the great work Scoob.

For even more accurate body fat reading with the skinfold caliper include 2 more locations ( skinfold 1 inch from inferior of your shoulder blade and at the peak of your triceps)...more locations...more accuracy
Hi sir, I wanted to ask if you could make a video that talks about how many days per week to work out, how many sets and repetitions of each exercise to do, and should we do full-body exercises each time or should we exercise a specific part of our body each time, etc, and maybe to relate these information to our goal, for example if we want to gain weight we should do this, if we want to lose weight we should do that, etc.
@54epn to treat lordosis you should probably see an orthopaedic if it's serious, if it's not then just follow the common orthopoedic exercises- if you make some web research you can find such exercises. Also try to find out what has caused the lordosis in the first place as it may be something you should treat, for example osteoporosis.
@54epn First, you need to see a doctor. Exercise and physical therapy cant fix everything and lordosis is one of those things. Ask your doctor for a prescription for physical therapy.
Pretty much every other source about measuring your body fat I've read so far says you have to take a vertical skinfold next to your belly button. You take a horizontal skinfold.
When I compare them I think it makes quite a difference.

Scooby, I'm alittle confused about something, ab excersises dont lose fat, so your telling me that running, lifting weights, etc. dosent lose fat at all? how do you lose fat?

@milkphish2 skinfold caliper is the most accurate, other than tank immersion that costs hundreds per measurment.

For even more accurate body fat reading with the skinfold caliper include 2 more locations ( skinfold 1 inch from inferior of your shoulder blade and at the peak of your triceps)...more locations...more accuracy

What do you think of my diet, scooby?
Meal 1: Oats and whey in milk.
Meal 2: Chicken and rice and steamed vegetables.
Meal 3: Tin of tuna fish and some new potatoes.
Meal 4: Protein shake in milk. (No oats).

Hi sir, I wanted to ask if you could make a video that talks about how many days per week to work out, how many sets and repetitions of each exercise to do, and should we do full-body exercises each time or should we exercise a specific part of our body each time, etc, and maybe to relate these information to our goal, for example if we want to gain weight we should do this, if we want to lose weight we should do that, etc.

@54epn to treat lordosis you should probably see an orthopaedic if it's serious, if it's not then just follow the common orthopoedic exercises- if you make some web research you can find such exercises. Also try to find out what has caused the lordosis in the first place as it may be something you should treat, for example osteoporosis.

@54epn First, you need to see a doctor. Exercise and physical therapy cant fix everything and lordosis is one of those things. Ask your doctor for a prescription for physical therapy.

Scooby, important question:
Pretty much every other source about measuring your body fat I've read so far says you have to take a vertical skinfold next to your belly button. You take a horizontal skinfold.
When I compare them I think it makes quite a difference.

scooby.since you started bodybuilding, did you ever do the bulk up and then cut thing or have you always been fairly strict? with nutrition labels on foods and internet access to nutritional information, it's easier now but you've been bodybuilding since before the internet and i don't even know how long there has been nutrition labeling.
