Somehow it seems to have gotten a lot of publicity but after the novelty wears off, you're left with a gadget collecting dust. I have owned several types of snow bikes and while this was the best design to date, man was not meant to spin that much mechanism on the bike. In fairness, it may work better on DH but why not just use 2 skis on it??
You can ride a mountainbike in snow with the right kind of tires. Much cheaper and it will not increase the power needed. Going downhill is one thing but on flat surface in snow it will be to much resistance. The women is right, it's a fun toy for a moment but it's not a serious sport or business.
I don't know whether to laugh or be disgusted at the Dragons for having that kind of attitude. "We're parting with $300,000" when they probably shred more money than that why they get bored. Instead of doing something nice with an amount they'd wipe they asses with on a daily basis, they act like morons and started regretting it after they left.

You all miss the entire point of asking for half or controlling interest in the company. It's to guarantee a recouped loss AND to guarantee the original controller doesn't screw up investing said money into the product. Imagine investing 300,000 dollars in a man and he spends it on bunk marketing and overinflated production costs. Now you've lost your money and the chance of making money on the product itself. Plus these guys have no clue on the bartering process, someone says 55 you counter 40.
I would love to see the ktrak this in real life. I imagine that it would open up lots of slopes that are either too narrow (brakes help) and too far from the ski lifts for skiers/snowboarders ( just bike there, even uphill). I think it would be icing on the cake if there could be a retractable ski for the back so it would go even faster when you want it to.
although the show is entertaining, I really do believe the dragons are much of predator that doesn't inspire much enterpreneurhsip. it is definitely fun to watch, but people should know by now that the best deal can't be found in this particular show.

This was a really difficult situation. They wanted a big chunk, but I can understand why they felt they needed that insurance. And it's a reasonable turndown too.

It's less structured than the U.K. version, the moderator doesn't walk us through the deals, and the Dragons are more interested in takeovers than partnerships. Had the inventors come in with "Hey, we invested $20,000 of our own money, and we've generated 250K in one season, and we expect a 50% increase on sales each season for the next 5 years..." then these guys would have had the Dragons for less than the said 50%, for sure. But they were already 700K in debt, and they wanna blow a large chunk of the 300K they were asking for, on marketing alone, so 50% is in fact quite reasonable.

although the show is entertaining, I really do believe the dragons are much of predator that doesn't inspire much enterpreneurhsip. it is definitely fun to watch, but people should know by now that the best deal can't be found in this particular show.

damn dude, good luck to these guys. I can see it becomming an extremely successful peripheral, almost everybody knows how to ride a bike but not nearly most of them know how to ski or snowboard. huge potential with this.

i dont know in my opinion these guys a just a little bit greedy but also the dragons ask for too much. the dragons should have asked for $300 000 for around 38-42%. if they accepted more than 50% the dragons have more control.

very cool product, i'd like one if the price is reasonable. I've tried to bike in the snow and its brutally difficult. Its good that these guys didn't lose half of their company to the dragons. I hope to see this product in stores soon.

Looking more at this, I think the Dragons in this really don't know what they're doing when it comes to a product such as this that it trully interesting and those presenting the idea have leverage.
They are so used to steamrollering every person that goes in there and getting 50% that they are at a loss what to do with a real product that they will have to take seriously and cannot roll over the inventors.

@dimitraeus202 If you would understand, 50% IS a good deal. Gotta understand that VCs also acts like CEOs or CFOs in a company. They would be responsible for managing and finance and etc. So without a big stake of the company, they wouldn't have the incentive to lead the company to the top. Remember, doesnt matter how good a product is, if the management fails, the company will fail. So with these well-known business owners as my partner, i wouldve taken the deal because i would learn a lot more

There's no equality between investors and inventors on this show. That's what makes it boring. Dragons seem to think 50% or no deal.
In uk it's much more realistic and there's a proper balance.
The people who are looking for investment on this seem to lack self esteem.

This was a really difficult situation. They wanted a big chunk, but I can understand why they felt they needed that insurance. And it's a reasonable turndown too.
Just a deal they couldn't make work. It's too bad they didn't try more creative solutions, like a "first payback" right or a reduction over time. Or ask for more money to grant the bigger stake.

Everything about the Canadian version feels wrong. It's less structured than the U.K. version, the moderator doesn't walk us through the deals, and the Dragons are more interested in takeovers than partnerships. I learned a lot from the other version. I'm scared of these people. Especially Kevin. His horns are showing.

OK, true, they are greedy, but look at it like this. Had the inventors come in with "Hey, we invested $20,000 of our own money, and we've generated 250K in one season, and we expect a 50% increase on sales each season for the next 5 years..." then these guys would have had the Dragons for less than the said 50%, for sure. But they were already 700K in debt, and they wanna blow a large chunk of the 300K they were asking for, on marketing alone, so 50% is in fact quite reasonable.

What a great invention!! much better than the "uno bike" which was sold for 1.25 million! I cant believe they didnt go for it. The UK version is good too. I think they are more generous than this version. However they are rude when entrepreneurs have crap inventions!! This however was great. I'd cycle to work everyday

the Canadian version is so much more fun (for me) to watch than the British version. they aren't as mean-spirited, they obviously like/respect each other and they really look like they're having fun. i think it's a kindness to tell people when their idea/invention/business is a dead-end. this panel manages to do it without being nasty and/or insulting. thanks for posting these. i'm really enjoying them.

I agree 100%, you have to be both honest and respectful. Kevin steps over the line sometimes, but Duncan, Theo, Deborah and Peter on the British series all go too far.
