Mickey was my party song at age four back in 1947.It was a very popular song here in Sydney Australia then.It took me sixty years to track a copy of it down in 2007.
I found a gentleman by the name of Morton Savada of '"records revisited" in New York City who had it on a old 78 who sent me a copy.It brings back many happy memories.
@horarwgt - Thanks for the additional information on this recording! The late Robert Edward Bodendorf (Bob Edwards) is my 2nd cousin, once removed. In the early 1990's I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with him at his home in Cleveland, OH. By this time he was dealing with a number of health issues, including being almost totally blind. He was a very interesting man and I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet him.
This was a 1947 million-seller as Mercury 5062 for Ted Weems & his Orchestra It peaked at #3 over an eleven week run. That's Bob Edwards as the vocalist with whistler Elmo Tanner.
