Here, Buddy tries to turn it all on Dawn. But in the end, what he wants is her... he wanted to be a filmmaker, but then he had to go fall in love.
The ending, I think, may be a little too poetic. But that's what art is. We look for messages and ideas, not logic.
It ends on a really... somber note. The comedy is gone.
