  • Thanks! I agree with you, but for a quick simple solution, if you alrday have baking sheets and a little water and soap, this is a good solution, it fits under the couch or bed and no one notices it nor does it get in the way.

  • Hang an incandescent light bulb (like a night light) just a few inches over the tray and you'll get more fleas. They're attracted to the heat (as in animal/human body heat). If you do this, you might want to make smaller trays and spread them around (disposable aluminum pie trays are a good choice and less cumbersome).

  • You Rock Sir!

  • Great idea!!

But I don't think people drown in 6 inches... I think you mean 6 feet!

  • @no, I meant six inches of water.think about it.

  • I HOPE MY DOG DONT DRINK THE WATER WITH ALL THE FLEAS IN IT WHILE IM ASLEEP LOL

  • Yes, all flea sized ships would sink...wait, are you using long ton or metric ton?

  • So if I put a ton of soap in the ocean all the ships will sink?

  • @ciao614 no, boats use buoyancy to float, not surface tension...

  • Adult fleas represent only 5% of the total population. They are also attracted to movement, CO2, and vibrations, so they'd be more likely to hop away (towards a person or pet) than towards the water.

There is no $1 that will eliminate fleas from your house, especially since your pets can bring in a fresh batch every time they come from outside. The best non-chemical way is to invest in a GOOD vacuum cleaner, move ALL the furniture, and vacuum EVERYWHERE (including the couch and pet bed) monthly

  • @caballtaz well, maybe the ones i find dead in my trays don't know that.you are right about bringing in ones from outside, it is a constant battle.

  • how the heck did u make a razor blade float?

  • @lilaznchris surface tension of the water makes the razor blade float, soap reduces srface tension and is added so fleas do not eassily float and escape.

  • Thanks!

  • Nice work!

  • try adding something cats would find repellant

  • @mrhulot101 citrus dish soap

  • @iphantasm1 good idea!!

  • try adding something cats would find repellant

  • My cats would be drinking the water.

  • what exactlly motivated the fleas to jump IN the pool?or is this a "they'll stumble upon it by accident" type of deal?

  • @TheChainsOFMisery no motivation, fleas gotta hop

  • Already caught 2 and its only been 15 minutes!

  • Thanks for this video. Never knew about the surface tension thing. Really happy to learn this :)

  • Put a swingarm desk lamp over the trap. The heat from the bulb will attract the fleas. Even a small light will be warm enough to bring the fleas to their death.

  • This does work. thanks!

  • will my cat drink that soap water?

  • Funny. Good vid.

  • Geckos are great for roaches, what woks good for palmetto bugs is a tomato sauce jar, ethey get in and can not get out.

  • @mrhulot101 nothing says "clean house" like gecko shit everywhere! Like a little cat poop in egg white...nice.

Then the gecko problem can be solved by a few hawks, then the hawk problem can be solved with gorillas...the gorillas will all die off in winter. There no more cockroaches

....paraphrasing the simpsons whacking day episode

  • My dad use to have roaches and he and his wife decided to let loose some of thise gecko that we find outside these little guys have quite an appetite and will go around hunting bugs in your house 24/7. We have not has flea problems in a while even though we have a cat we never let her out might be why we have no fleas.

  • Apparently this trap works for some sorts of spiders too, caught one of tohse "garage" spiders in my living room -

and I didn't even feel sorry for that huge fukker drowning in the bowl

    :P

  • @GanjaClaus ((Apparently this trap works for some sorts of spiders too, caught one of tohse "garage" spiders in my living room)) Eww...that's scary! Just imagine. If it caught ONE...what about all the other one's crawling around that you haven't seen....or caught.

  • i use oil on a large plate. only need a very thin layer of oil. i leave it outside the house near sandy areas and it fills up with the fleas. i dont have fleas inside the house. any fleas that gets in will be grabbed with fingers and dropped into a bottle of oil

  • @MrBillyBobJoeBiIl Thats a great outsude idea as the oil will not evaporate easily and the pets will not drink it

  • You might wanna but a candle in the middle of that, to attract the fleas more, the light and especially heat of the candle will attract fleas alot better!

  • @ziggyhuys Thanks Ziggy

  • @ziggyhuys I will try with the candle =]
