Thrid Age mod is epic but I do warn you it will be diffcult to play and win in the campain I thought I was good in the medival campain I was shocked by how many hordes of evil armies you need to face when I got it Its very fun but also very diffuclt I would suggest playing as Dale or one of the elves first before moving on with Gondor and facing hordes of orcs and trolls across the river towards the east and then elepants towards the south that can be tough to beat

@robby99764 Mods make things better. The Vanilla Crusader Campaign only has 5 factions. Broken Crescent has like 12. Plus ALOT more units. Better detail. and the map is 3x bigger.

@robby99764 Look at it this way. The Vanilla expansions were made to try to sell. The mods were personalized in effort to improve the experience. Mods; Increase factions, possess deeper immersion, better campaign map, better AI, and more historically accurate. There are mods for nearly everything. Hell there is even a Third Age Total War (Lord of the Rings). Do you own a copy of the Golden Edition M2TW? If so I could assists you in dling mods and you could see for yourself.

Medieval II: The game that just keeps on giving. Bought it with the Kingdoms expansion when it first came out. Then played Empire for a few years before revisiting this masterpiece once again. What a surprise that all these mods came about. Stainless Steel, The Third Age & Call of Warhammer, each mod as brilliant in their own rights as the vanilla game. The reason I returned to Medieval was largely because of steams merge with Empire & Shogun II.

879 hours on medieval 2, 642 on kingdoms, 76 on shogun 2....i really wish that CA would make their newer games more like rome and medieval, to be honest in my opinions, empire, napoleon, and shogun 2 sucked compared to medieval 2 and before. I know they suck because i started clicking auto resolve after 12 hours of playing both of them and sat in my chair for a minute waiting for everyone to finish their turn...i remember the good ol' days when as soon as i hit enter, i could move again lol

@campesino6969 i7-2600k o/c @ 4.8 ghz, 8 gigs ddr3 1600 ram, Gtx 570 SLI, 1000 watt power supply, 6.0 ghz sata 3 hard drive, water cooled cpu, 3 fans for the sli. My turns take me the same time on empire with my super computer when they do with my old 8600gt and dual core. No way in hell is it my hardware. Lol its memory leaks, cuz in napoleon my turns go in 3-7 seconds. Its just empire and shogun 2, turns are wack for my system :(
