The only way that their debut in America woulod be successful is with someone America trusts. Is it more successful to just walk up to the person you like and have him or her ignore you and make fun of you or to have one of their best friends become your friend and introduce you to him or her? Us Blackjacks are supposed to support them. When they're about to ruin their lives we have to help them do so with style, it hurts, but we can't be selfish. We need to TRUST them not to change!!
Teddy and YG are watching out for them. Teddy was with them the whole time they were with Will.I.Am. Teddy also decided who would sing what, and I bet he had a lot to do with the song writing, too. I'm honestly happy for them, even though I'm scared too. But I know they'll be fine!!!

This type of music is trending in the US, so their music will eventually will be play in clubs and who knows some famous DJ's will make a remix to it.
People are taking this Americand debut too seriously. 2NE1 isn't trying to have their big break in America, they're already huge stars. If you don't like the songs they're making, don't have a panic attack and think you've lost them forever. This is just one possible album in one country. Different country = different sound. It's really not a huge deal. They'll make the American debut (maybe) and then head on back to other countries and make their awesome music again.

I like Dara's part here. But CL's part doesn't sound like CL. It sounded like Wil.I.Am! I think Wil is trying to make 2ne1 sound like BEP.. I don't know if it's intentional or not but I really think Teddy should be the one who should write the songs on 2ne1's english album. Teddy's english is good. I think they should've let Teddy be more involved in making their american album coz based on what I've seen on 2ne1 tv, It's just Wil and other americans who were in charge and Teddy was just silent.
@LykAnAngeLXD Yes but do realize that BEP is immensely popular here in the States. 2NE1 needs someone who has foothold here. Pretty much anything will.i.am touches turns to gold, and that's probably what YG is thinking too. 2NE1 needs proper promotion, and being cool with BEP will definitely help. Unfortunately the dozens of other Kpop groups and singers failed because they were promoted incorrectly.

But what I'm just trying to say is, it would have been better if they let 2ne1 be the 2ne1 that we know. Because they are on top because of the attitude of their songs. @LykAnAngeLXD I don't think they're trying to 'alter' their identity. Really only 2NE1 and YG know what 2NE1's identity is. I'm sure BEP is trying to keep them in their same place. But everyone changes. Everyone's style changes. Even 2NE1's Korean style is changing. Just because it's tweaked a tad bit more when they come to the US doesn't mean it's bad or unwilling. Maybe even 2NE1 likes this 'version' of themselves. Time will tell.
I agree with you, but take on the bright side, will.i.am is an excellent aid to break into the U.S. market, I think will do well as the TEDDY will produce its second album, is an obvious TEDDY OPPA that is excellent producer who has helped out 2NE1 forward, these girls are a success. I love them from Colombia.
You're all taking these snippets way too seriously. -_- Just because they were working on these songs, that doesn't mean they made the final cut. Singers work on TONS of songs in the studio and not all of them make it on the album, so relax. :) You have to work through some bad songs to get to the goodies. It doesn't happen in a snap ya know. >.>

if it were SNSD (no offense!) or another bubble gum pop group debuting I would be worried, but 2NE1 has got the whole package. Vocals, rapping, dancing, style... that's what's popular in the US these days. I can totally imagine hearing their songs on the radio, or performing at the MTV VMA's and everyone being blown away at these girls. Obviously Will.I.Am saw something unique in them.

Love the song... But it's not 2NE1's type of music. I loved their songs like I Don't Care and Go Away. I loved their warrior like songs, with lots of girl power. I loved it when they sang songs like "A stronger solo, that's my way" "I don't care, eh eh eh eh" "You ain't shit without your crew" and "Hey pretty boy, I really like how you look. But of you've got nothing inside, then you mean nothing to me". I don't want them singing lyrics like this..... I want the original strong 2NE1 back:(
i love that 2NE1 too, but there's nothing wrong with them exploring new types of music and new styles. i mean they can't sing those types of songs forever. they need variety.
Lyrics are important yes, but to me they don't matter as much as the quality of the music and the quality/strength of their voices.
and it's not like the "original strong 2NE1" will ever be gone either. they don't lose strength or their originality by trying to expand their horizons...

People are taking this Americand debut too seriously. 2NE1 isn't trying to have their big break in America, they're already huge stars. If you don't like the songs they're making, don't have a panic attack and think you've lost them forever. This is just one possible album in one country. Different country = different sound. It's really not a huge deal. They'll make the American debut (maybe) and then head on back to other countries and make their awesome music again.

I like Dara's part here. But CL's part doesn't sound like CL. It sounded like Wil.I.Am! I think Wil is trying to make 2ne1 sound like BEP.. I don't know if it's intentional or not but I really think Teddy should be the one who should write the songs on 2ne1's english album. Teddy's english is good. I think they should've let Teddy be more involved in making their american album coz based on what I've seen on 2ne1 tv, It's just Wil and other americans who were in charge and Teddy was just silent.

@LykAnAngeLXD Yes but do realize that BEP is immensely popular here in the States. 2NE1 needs someone who has foothold here. Pretty much anything will.i.am touches turns to gold, and that's probably what YG is thinking too. 2NE1 needs proper promotion, and being cool with BEP will definitely help. Unfortunately the dozens of other Kpop groups and singers failed because they were promoted incorrectly.

@LykAnAngeLXD I don't think they're trying to 'alter' their identity. Really only 2NE1 and YG know what 2NE1's identity is. I'm sure BEP is trying to keep them in their same place. But everyone changes. Everyone's style changes. Even 2NE1's Korean style is changing. Just because it's tweaked a tad bit more when they come to the US doesn't mean it's bad or unwilling. Maybe even 2NE1 likes this 'version' of themselves. Time will tell.

You're all taking these snippets way too seriously. -_- Just because they were working on these songs, that doesn't mean they made the final cut. Singers work on TONS of songs in the studio and not all of them make it on the album, so relax. :) You have to work through some bad songs to get to the goodies. if it were SNSD (no offense!) or another bubble gum pop group debuting I would be worried, but 2NE1 has got the whole package. Vocals, rapping, dancing, style... that's what's popular in the US these days. I can totally imagine hearing their songs on the radio, or performing at the MTV VMA's and everyone being blown away at these girls. Obviously Will.I.Am saw something unique in them.

Love the song... But it's not 2NE1's type of music. I loved their songs like I Don't Care and Go Away. I loved their warrior like songs, with lots of girl power. I loved it when they sang songs like "A stronger solo, that's my way" "I don't care, eh eh eh eh" "You ain't shit without your crew" and "Hey pretty boy, I really like how you look. But of you've got nothing inside, then you mean nothing to me". I don't want them singing lyrics like this..... I want the original strong 2NE1 back:(

i love that 2NE1 too, but there's nothing wrong with them exploring new types of music and new styles. i mean they can't sing those types of songs forever. they need variety.
Lyrics are important yes, but to me they don't matter as much as the quality of the music and the quality/strength of their voices.
and it's not like the "original strong 2NE1" will ever be gone either. they don't lose strength or their originality by trying to expand their horizons...

What I meant was, when making their debut I would've preferred if they voiced their usual style. Then after debut, or maybe other songs in the album could have been different.
