  • Probably the most effective campaign ad ever. Unfortunately, "peace candidate" LBJ brought us into a war that was not needed.

  • Wait Im confused. I thought it was Republicans that campaign on fear.

  • Lyndon B Johnson is a traitor to America.

He ordered the murders of us servicemen with the help of israel

youtube USS Liberty - these sailors are still seeking justice for being stabbed in the back by Johnson - they are still being ignored.

Lyndon B Johnson got the Israeli military to attack a US Naval vessel, to use it as a pretext to go to war with Egypt and blame it on them, it was a false flag

Johnson killed American Servicemen. Go research, it's all true.

  • YOU ONLY HAD TO LISTEN

  • They painted Goldwater as a war monger and he lost. But who got us into Vietnam with both feet? I'll give you a hint: His initials were LBJ.

  • See, if we had Education at the State level, that little girl could count to 10 just fine. Ron Paul 2012!!!

  • Lyndon Johnson - "I never gave anybody hell - I just told the truth and they thought it was hell."

  • So he's saying 'vote for Johnson or I'll nuke your kids'?

  • @galileosfriend Remember who were the candidates, it was saying "Vote for Johnson or Presdent Goldwater will nuke your kids, or cause the Soviets to nuke them."

  • typical american child...doesn't know how to count...

  • my instructor showed us this video in the government class -_-

  • lol. more evidence that lbj was a sociopath

  • THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO KIDS WHO CAN'T COUNT.

  • @RichardElden What does winning the Vietnam war even mean? Was it not enough to senselessly murder 3 million vietnamese? Would killing a few million more and subjugating Vietnam have been victory, or would it just be utter depravity and moral self-defeat?

  • @soylentgreenb How many of those 3 million were South Vietnamese murdered by the North Vietnamese? How about all the Cambodians done in by the communist Khmer Rouge after we left South East Asia (Some 2 million)?

Communism/socialism = Death for millions in pursuit of a impossible utopia.

  • @Quantumgeometer None; I'm refering to the ~3 million dead vietnamese directly murdered by the US.

"How about all the Cambodians done in by the communist Khmer Rouge after we left South East Asia (Some 2 million)?"

You destabilized the region and paved the way for the Khmer Rouge to come to power(funny how killing 300 000 cambodians makes their families turn against you). Who had to go in and clean up the mess and stop the genocide? Vietnam.

  • @Quantumgeometer South vietnam could not hold elections because they would have voted against the US favoured candidate. Hence a brutal campaign of domestic terrorism and repression in the south.

This back-fired. The south locked up peasants in concentration camps and burnt down their villages to prevent them from picking up arms.

This smouldering civil war sucked in North vietnam; which provided most of the supplies and arms but did not do most of the fighting.

  • @Quantumgeometer The Vietnam war was a war against the people of south Vietnam; particularly the rural areas. That's where most of the napalm, agent orange and bombs fell. That's the nationality of most of the dead.

If you read the pentagon papers you will see what the war in Vietnam was actually about. It had nothing to do with communism. It was the usual reasons; oil, tin, rubber, that sort of stuff.

  • @soylentgreenb there was never a Vietnam war. the congress never declared war against Vietnam..it was only a conflict that lasted bit long...

  • Barry Goldwater: Your children WILL be blown up.

  • 2012: Vote for Obama or you're gonna get raped.

  • NOOOOOOOO!

  • @RichardElden Reagan was the worst US president ever.

  • @Watermark0n You're an idiot. Johnson only won by pity vote and his effect on our economy is still being felt today. Johnson's the reason we have a budget crisis right now. I believe Reagan did a lot to alleviate the budget while in office.

  • @june372 What you believe is irrelevant. What actually happened is that Reagan exploded the budget deficit.

  • "in a world where all the god's children can live"? what about the ones that aren't god's children? They get to NOT live?

  • @dn032108 Ur retarded bro obviously if they said that they are Christian and believe everyone is one of God's children. Please stop thinking you're special because you're atheist

  • So, could they really not find an eight year old who could count?

  • HOLY SHIT THATS HILARIOUS, VOTE FOR ME OR WE ALL DIE!!!

  • this was the most brilaint ad

  • Thanks to the hard work of Hermain Cain, this has now been demoted to SECOND worst campaign ad of all time.

  • mix the end of Metallica's "Fight fire with Fire" in here and you have a nice remake

  • 1 2 3 4 5 7 6 6 8 9 9?

  • more of the backstory check on wikipedia for 'daisy ad'. it was only shown once in the middle of the nbc monday night movie on september 7th, 1964 but it made its point and had plenty of impact. As for 'we would have been better off with goldwater fighting the vietnam war', that is impossible to guess. hindsight and all that.

  • 6,6,8.

  • As a Texan I can speak with confidence about LBJ, and he was a HORRIBLE president! I'm sorry he was ever elected.

As for you know-nothings that want to blast Rick Perry, you don't know what the hell you're talking about - he's one of the best we've ever had.

Don't waste my time arguing with a reply, I don't have the time to waste on you.

  • @ChrisK529 cuz Goldwater wouldn't have killed us all.

  • @SecuR0M Goldwater would have stopped the debacle in Viet Nam 10 years and thousands of American casualties sooner than it was....he would have made an excellent president, far better than LBJ and his "Great Society" boondoggle - tens of billions of dollars wasted and still poverty and government dependence is far greater than it was before his tampering.

  • @ChrisK529 As a Texan I cannot disagree with you more about Gov Perry. I am SO glad he's nearly out of office - but there's not a chance that I'd want to foist his antics on the rest of the nation. It'll take YEARS for us to recover from his slash job on K-12 education alone! The 'myth' of jobs is a cruel joke. Sure - there are new jobs in the state - but the vast majority are 'minimum wage with no benefits' jobs - and the creation rate did not keep up with population growth. Good Riddance!

  • @RechargeableLithium I too am a Texan, lineage here back to 1829. I did gush a little bit excessively about Perry BUT he beats the hell out of Bill "Sanctuary City" White for governor. White ruined Houston with his red light camera boondoggle that will cost us millions to correct. Perry disappoints me in that he didn't do anything about the illegals except for photo ID to vote. Perry IS a far better guv than Ann "Big Mouth" Richards or Mark White ever were. I do not support him for President.

  • @ChrisK529 you suck

  • Scene 1: a sadistic child and future pscycotic killer maims, tourtures, mutilates an innocent bystander.

  • The stakes are to high..

  • WOW THATS SOME BULL SHIT!!!!

  • Created by Tony Schwartz, there should be some info about that.

  • YES

  • this ad gives a dem like me a hard on. Would you even put odds on Barry Hussein using such ads to bury a meatball like Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann?

  • @PRsoxFAN

FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP FAP

  • @PRsoxFAN LBJ was one of the last Texans worthy of honor.

Now look at the crop of drooling secessionist bastards down there now, like Gov. Perry.

  • @MiHiVidz I don't know Gov. Perry but I can tell you your honorable Texan helped to murder over 58,000 Americans and untold Viet Nam innocents, for nothing more than war profits....not unlike another more recent Texan President.

  • @misturdan1952 Uh huh. And Goldwater would have started WWIII.

  • gotta love politics

  • "Artist: Fatboy Slim"

    WTF?

  • Thank you... history class!!!!!!! "VOTE FOR LYNDON B PENIS" lbj: you just gave me nightmares

  • I get chills watching this. LBJ, for all his faults, was a political master.

  • This is a typical scare tactic still employed by Democrats today. It's a shame that Goldwater lost. We would be a much different nation today if he hadn't.

  • @Sistarovat don't be so partisan about it, goldwater pulled the same stuff. look up "goldwater choice" on youtube if you want proof. like it or not, every good politician, regardless of party, incorporates enthymemes like this into their campaigns.

  • @Sistarovat we would be dead if goldwater won

  • Such a clumsy ad would have the opposite impact today ie it would help the candidate it was aimed against. Hard to believe that the American voter has actually gotten more sophisticated since 1964

  • Aw wat a cutie pie! :D but this ad is weird it's saying "vote for Johnson or die" thank god for Barack Obama

  • Does anyone know what happened to the little girl in this ad ? Is she still alive ?

  • @trwent Ya she is alive her name is Monique Corzilus

  • @worldsend2112 How did you know?

  • @trwent

She got killed by a bomb. Didn't you watch the video?

  • You know, even with all of the new-fangled campaign vids out there, this one still owns them all...

  • You know, even with all of the new-fangled campaign vids out there, this one still owns them all...

  • people keep calling Barry Hussein an Alinsky style politician, BUT none of his ads during the 2008 campaign were ever this ballsy. I have a funny feeling this one will be unretired if Sarah Barricuda gets the GOP nom.

  • this is a good video that the dems could use if they remade it, especially with japan scaring everybody.

  • If any politician was caught dead saying "God's Children" nowadays, he'd be kicked out of his party before he could say "nuk-yah-luhr."

  • It's a very unique situation when you can say that your opponent is such an incompetent that he will, by his actions, indirectly kill you and everyone you know. Pretty much, it's the ultimate insult and LBJ capitalized on it.

  • For 2012 they should make a new 1 of this same video, and the graphics and picture quality will look GREAT!

  • Remarkably powerful ad. A bit over the top? Perhaps, but people got the message (despite the ad only being aired once).

  • i had to watch this for homeworl

  • Absolutely shocking for its time but it got its point across. A few points worth considering: The little girl, one Monique Corzilius, insists she was picking a blacked eyed Susan, not a daisy; the poem LBJ references in the voice-over during the explosion was from W H Auden's "September 1, 1939" and the narrator at the end was Chris Schenkel, best known as the play by play guy for ABC Saturday Afternoon Bowling.

  • ...:O *stunned* That was...very...um...visually shocking.

  • THAT'S RIGHT, BITCH. VOTE FOR LYNDON OR THE KID FUCKING GETS IT.

  • Goldwater rules!!!

  • this kid need to learn how to count.

  • One of the classic political commercials of all time. I was fortunate enough to see this the only time aired, and the power behind it was incredible. It was the beginning of negative ads as we know them today, (not a truly good thing), and for the record, I don't believe Goldwater would have driven us into nuclear Armageddon, but at the time, Goldwater was pretty wild in his thinking. Later, Goldwater became the elder statesman and called the new R's, "shitheads" on live TV. Good for him!

  • @rasputin1952

Negative campaigings is nothing new. Nor is Goldwater calling people shitheads on live television a good thing either.

  • @SaladofStones Goldwater and I had little in common, but I always respected him, for his being straight forward. He was not one to mince words. One always knew where one stood with Goldwater. He was an unabashed Conservative fiscally, and in some policy matters. But he was also in favor of quite a few contentious social changes of the time. He watched the GOP go from the party of Lincoln, and change dramatically, when the GOP started looting the Treasury, he'd had enough.

  • if Sarah Palin run in 2012 this ad will suddenly relevant again.....

  • LOL THIS was my hw for history class look up 1964 nuke ad

  • 1964 r,"Dziewczynka pokoju"(Peace, little girl),tzw. "Stokrotka".Autor: T.Shwartz

Stawka jest zbyt wysoka by pozostać w domu."

  • wouldn't it have been a little more fucked if she repeated 6 three times instead of just two? i'm not trying to say "dude, SATAN IS AWESOME!" but i think it would have made it even more twisted. anyone agree?

  • Freedom isn't free!

    *Votes Republican*

  • This is scary o.o

  • Maybe they should have hired a kid who WASN'T retarded and knew how to count to ten. I do get she's like, four years old, I don't care, she's still retarded if she can't count to ten for fuck's sake.

  • @patchesdf your an idiot

  • @traughton Agreed. That is one of the reason it is a brilliant ad.

  • NOT FEARMONGERING AT ALL

when cuban missile crisis was less than 2 years ago and goldwater a certified warmongering lunatic

  • Ah! She was a bomb All along!

  • @HARKENSCYLD What a twist!

  • This is so surreal it's like something out of a novel or movie. We think political ads today are edgy, yet this could never, ever air today. Thank you for posting this.

  • @wgccpht

Of course. It was made to scare ADULTS. Not moronic fanboys and fangirls flinging poo and trolling each other in such a primitive fashion that it's not even funny.

  • An attack ad from the masters! I don't think this one was ever topped and it only ran once! Commendable hatchet work on this one!

  • A brilliant ad using implication by imagery. The implication, of course, was that Goldwater was an extreme militarist who bring nuclear Armageddon upon the world, and Johnson the only sane choice; all without mentioning Goldwater's name. Was it fair ? No, but it was brilliant.

  • @schmegman it doesn't mention anything Johnson's standing for, so it implies (to me at least) that he has something pretty nasty to hide

  • @afuzzyduck well i think for everyone at that time new exactly what he was talking about. People already knew where Johnson and Goldwater stood so there wasn't really a need to state it. Of course knowing where they stand the ad pretty much is self-explanatory nothing hidden really

  • @schmegman

Which was totally untrue, Johnson was the one who put us full force into the Vietnam war, I don't think Goldwater would have gone for that.

  • @BenjaminWirtz Goldwater would have had us nuking China and starting WWIII by 1967.

  • @schmegman That is one stupid fucking implication.
