  • Maybe the best song on The Beast, perhaps even better then HBTN? The energie in this one far sur proceeds anything else they´ve ever made (with the excption of Killers of course)

  • @itoldunot2fuckwithme It's a great tune but I think Hallowed Be Thy Name, Revelations, Where Eagles Dare, Phantom Of The Opera and Rime Of The Ancient Mariner are the top 5. I don't even know if this would make my Top 10! 30 years a fan!

  • Up the Irons from Częstochowa, Poland!

  • Is it me or does the rythim guitar rift sound like the lead intro rift from the wickerman?

  • @Cyberdeamon its only you xD

  • @Cyberdeamon They use the same notes, they also use a similar one in Futureal

  • @Cyberdeamon allmost all riffs from iron maiden goes in E, C and D. Thats why

  • This was the song we played to open the gigs at high school music festivals in early 90's....

    good times

  • I breathe IRON MAIDEN every day.... and any Haters r those who were born juz bcoz his or her dad's condom had a defect...

  • You can actually play it with 4 chords. Easy to learn, most difficult to master.

It's a song about vikings by the way.

  • @NordiskArv sorry, but i can't seem to find any chords on my drum set?

  • @thecitizenme

You're probably right on the drums part.

Also when it comes to a contrabass with a capo.

Anyway, what I meant was on a guitar, acoustically and electric.

Iron Maiden was one the first metal bands I started listening to musically and lyrically.

This one of their great songs on my personal favorite Iron Maiden album.

    Have a good time.

  • @NordiskArv lol, i was just messing around with you,..xD

  • @thecitizenme

    I know, mate.

Just thought you'd should get a serious answer.

Enjoy the great music of Iron Maiden ;)

  • @NordiskArv will do, thank you!..:D

  • its not hard to learn. the hard part about harris is being as creative as he is

  • I'm sad because I can't find anyone with a cassette player, as I have this on cassette. I hate this new age. Great album regardless!

  • @MajorGameage96 What I bought on eBaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • @squike1314 I bought my cassette on Amazon. However, I was lucky enough that my Dad had a cassette player in his car. The 42 minutes I spent in there was worth it.

  • One of my favorite songs of theirs. This should have been a single and a live staple. Son I am disappoint.

  • INVAAYYDERRRZ bumBUMbum - dumdodododo

  • -me playing invaders on drumset- 'WAAAAAAAAAR!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! FUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

  • "UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • one of my favourite basslines by steve :)

  • ITS BEYBLADE!!!

  • @ShadaZs FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song is fucking great, one of my favorites,i love the lyrics...is about the Vikings, Normans, or something like that...fuck yeah!

  • Up the irons from liverpool

  • whatev to all haters. dont get much tighter.

  • This was the first CD I can remember that I liked...I'm 16 now, I'm pretty sure I was 5 or 6 at the time. Still one of my favorite albums.

  • @deadlyduk haha mee too this was the first rock album i actually liked i always wanted to listen to it in the car but i was like 8

    <3

  • i love that bass

  • Incredibly good song, except for the chorus, when it asks for different notes when singing "Invaders, pillaging" and the riff turns awkward. But other than that, it's brilliant, as any song in this album.

  • I just don't get why so many people (including the band themselves I think) hate this song. I love it - quick, powerful riffs are what make this song. I love it. I just wish it was played live. They really could run around to it then.

  • @therandomsk8erben I dislike it too, it's the off-key chorus that does it ("Invaaaddddersss!"). Run to the Hills certainly would have been a better opening track.

  • @ChocolateHoneycomb I love this song, I think it's brilliant. I don't understand why most people don't.

  • @therandomsk8erben Like I said, it's too frantic leading up to the chorus and when the chorus goes off-key it just sounds annoying to me.

At least it's better than the banal "Sun and Steel" from Piece of Mind.

  • @ChocolateHoneycomb I love the Franticness; it's exciting and hooks me in. And Bruce Dickinson is never off-key. Sounds pretty in-key to me.

Your right, but Sun and Steel I think is a good song. Piece of Mind doesn't have a bad song. Neither does this, Powerslave, Iron Maiden, or Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. The Final Frontier and Brave New World are pretty damn good, and the rest are good. Virtual XI has The Clansman, and The X Factor has Sign Of The Cross. They save those albums.

  • This album from 1982, Piece of Mind from 1983, and Powerslave from 1984. I'd say Maiden ruled most of the 80's.

  • @ToddSweeneyOnce yes sure...to me 80 to 84 is their best stuff tho...

  • @7zuma7 You're right. I've always loved the debut, "Prowler" is my favorite from that album, and the "Killers" album holds it's own with anything that came after it. I remember how blown away I was the first time I heard the title track from that record and it's about as good as any song they ever did. To me, a person doesn't have to hate Di' Anno if Dickinson is their choice and vice versa. They were both awesome, imo, and Dave Murray played with an energy on the first 2 albums that was great!

  • this song is from the good old days when bands sang about good stuff like killing and raping instead of the dumb stuff they sing about now

  • @cmau14 Uhh... killing and raping makes up A LOT of what metal bands write about nowadays...

  • @EaLordOfTheDepths1 ya I guess that's true but this is viking style killing and raping so it's better

  • ME ENCANTA ESTA CANCION CREO QUE ES MI FAVORITA DE IRON MAIDEN YEAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @rockdrigomaiden666 speak english

  • fingers destroyed, i will learn this song if its the last thing i do!

  • @BassCasperify Already beat you :P Its a hard ass song to play!

  • @BassCasperify i second that!

  • @BassCasperify one of the hardest songs of maiden.. but prectice after that will be a very good warm up excercise

  • The mighty norsemen! <3 Norway and Sweden

  • vocal bad.

    vocal poser

  • some americans panned the the album because they think that was satanic. what a bunch of dicks

  • @kjsh987 lol when people say invaders, I think of dicks....

  • @kjsh987 I'm American and was 17 when this record came out and I thought it was a little evil, which made me love it even more(gives an evil laugh)! I can tell you this, I was done with Def Leppard and and a few more wannabe heavy bands after i bought this album! Leppard's first 2 records still rock pretty well though.

  • @kjsh987 Nothing new from America, even at that time and stage of metal, even when Black Sabbath started calling out playing in America did it not go very well with some concerts being banned and resulting in church burnings I've once heard about on a documentary.

Yet 4 years after The Number Of The Beast does this one fairly small, but rising metal band release an album that was even controversial before it's official intital release, and it was called Reign In Blood.... :D

  • Steve Harris hates this song, I think it's awesome.

  • @SamFisherCell Where did you learn that, I can't find it?

  • Absolutely horrible chorus and played far too fast, one of the worst songs they ever made (others being Angel and the Gambler, Tailgunner, The Appirition, Weekend Warrior etc.)

Sorry to all the fanboys, but I am able to tell when I don't like something, I'm not one to accept a bad song just because the band who made it is excellent. Even the best bands have failures and this is one.

  • @ThroughRock Hey c'mon ! Weekend Warrior was brilliant ! Iron Maiden's most underrated song !

  • @Ph3L1z14n0 I'd say Quest for Fire is their most underrated. It's a song with cheesy lyrics, but cheesy in a good way and unlike Invaders, QFF hasn't got a shrieky chorus and is played at a good tempo.

  • @ThroughRock From Piece Of Mind I'd say THE most underrated song is Still Life, a typical Iron Maiden song about insanity, with a great screwy intro by Nicko !

  • @ThroughRock wait, you said this is their worst song, then you said you can tell when you don't like something. you liking something and something being terrible are two different things.

  • @ThroughRock

Imo after Killers with DiAnno they had to create an album like Number of the Beast, with great "old style" songs like "Invaders" or "Gangland" and "new" styles like "The Number of the Beast" or "Hallowed be thy Name" with Dickinson.

It sounds like a perfect "invading" theme to me, that's fair enough to be a good song after a close look at the title. Otherwise you have songs listened like 20 times with different titles like "The Wicker Man" or "Two Mins to Mid", know what I mean?

  • @ThroughRock - I agree, the chorus ruins it. It sounds weirdly high pitched, slightly questioning and doesn't flow well with the rest of the song. I enjoy the rest though, I like the speed and tempo. More inspired lyrics and a stronger chorus could have made this a far more memorable track.

  • @Schtiel dude its awsome

  • My Favorite song!!!

  • The chorus is really bad I think. Ah yes, before anyone starts to curse me I'm a big Irons fan

  • They need to give this song a breath of fresh air and play it live, long over due imho.

  • 666 likes.....!!. :D

  • 13 Invaders in this video!

  • Songs like this makes me proud to be a heavy metal fan! :)

    Up the Irons from Denmark!

  • EXELENTE ,GRANDIOSO, BESTIAL !!!! EL TEMA QUE MAS ME GUSTA DEL ALBUM JUNTO A CORRE A LAS COLINAS!!! INVADERS DEBERIA HABER SIDO UN GRAN EXITO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

  • Now THIS is how you open an album.

  • @SlappaDeBassMon hell fuckin yeah!

  • @SlappaDeBassMon YEAAAH!!!!

  • This song needs more credit than it is given. Great tempo, good bass and I for one actually LIKE the chorus in this.

  • best maiden album along with powerslave in my opinion

  • I started loving yhis song the first time i heard it.

  • underrated maiden song, i just don't like the part that say "invaders"

  • @dapithapon Yes, the chorus is kinda poor

  • @dapithapon

yes, the chorus is definitely poor for such a great song

  • how could steve not like this song it's one of the best maiden songs. UP THE IRONS FROM SWEDEN!

Also, when Layne staley was heavy in drugs and then Alice in Chains producer retired, RS magazine said, "Well who's to wipe and clean Alice in Chains now?"

  • Comment removed

  • @peruvianbassmaster It isn't how good you play, its how good you write. Yeah there are better guitarists but listen to Fade To Black, Creeping Death, ...And Justice For All. You might be able to play it, but did you write it? Everyone picks on Kirk because he is from the Metallica, the band everyone loves to hate.

  • Comment removed

  • @peruvianbassmaster Your just another one who states his opinions as fact. Like him or not, he will always play better and write better than us.

  • @peruvianbassmaster Um, I'm pretty sure there's wah-wah in Prowler, off Maiden's first album, released 3 years before Kill Em All.

  • @DragonballZsayian They really disrespect this album!? is this possible!? I mean, even Classic Albums did a documentry on it! fuck them anyway.................

  • @DragonballZsayian Unless its some gay ass liberal band the rolling stones magazine will not give a damn. Oh well screw them! Up the Irons from every where!

  • @tokorev747777

Yea fuck them liberal faggots! UP THE IRONS!!!!
