being an enforcer is an important role in hockey. But on top of that, domi actually wasn't that bad of a hockey player. Not compared to most goons (guys who played 3min a game and maybe got 1 or 2 goals a year). He could log some minutes and wasn't a liability. He also put up decent number for an enforcer (has scored over 10 goals a few times including scoring 15goals in 2003 at the end of his career). If he was a terible hockey player, he wouldn't have lasted so long.
how the fuck did domi even play in the NHL? he was a terrible hockey player.. the only thing he could do was fight, and there i a sport for that. .. i think its called boxing! he wouldnt even be good enough to play in the mexican elite league..
@colbtucount That's a skill in hockey. Avery, Domi, and others like them play just to piss others off and get their heads knotted with anger. If they're not thinking right, they're not playing right.

@08alexovechkin08 He wasn't making a play on the puck so no league would call that a clean hit, although I do love seeing Domi with his feet up higher than his shoulders.

@guntfucker its like saying that the nfl has to cut down on highlight reel hits or tackles because to many players are getting injured, if they did that they would lose money just like the nhl, people pay good money to see that, now point im trying to make is the good hits and fights sells not the dirty ones. young fans that dont like it never watched it they only know gary the retards shitty ass brand of hockey,

@vinnybunbats honestly, u have no idea how many guys retire from the NHL with post concussion syndrome..and for a lot more the symptoms don't show up until they're about 45. its THE worst sport in terms of head injury. given a choice, i'd rather work a normal job for $50000 a year for 30-40 years and have a healthy brain than make a few millions over a 10 year career only to suffer with horrible depression, headaches, fatigue, insomnia and not being able to recognize my kids or grandkids.
@v8americanpower1 i know its sad that so many players r retired early but now adays the good players and even the shit players have alot more money, now i agree with u i would never work in those kind of conditions for alot more money. now i say that if it continues to get worse then they will lose me as a fan and so many more, but i would say on the flip side if they really wanted to have the players safety met then dont go half way adopt the iihf rules.
@v8americanpower1 they would have so much stricter rules on head shots, they would have no touch icing, and stricter rules on fighting so i say u want to change everything at least do it right!!!
@slapshot4aero Most of the so called "dirty" hits today are clean! The press and the idiot new fans would say his hit on Kariya was late, they would say he jumped on the Ron Francis hit, they would say he targeted the head of Lindros. Stevens would be kicked out og the NHL in his first year. He was a clean hitter but the NHL is becoming soft. I blame much of it on crosby crying about how something has to change
@ben1ben2ben1 thank u, finally somebody else see's the dam light, i think its not just crosby but gary the retard and also the media. ever since they started crying foul they've been destryoing the one game i truley love, u notice ever since gary has taken over in the summer of 1992 the nhl has gone down hill, his whole bullshit scoring has gone down and also the whole garbage expansion down south and them crying about these clean hits being dirty, he doesnt care about the product only money.
@ben1ben2ben1 but on the flip side then all these cheapshot artists come out to get the almighty " W" WIN and all of a sudden these guys are valuable??? i mean im talking about the ulf samuelsons and the matt cookes that have no place in the nhl, there job to take out the other teams #1 player, why is it that all the good tough guys that play the right way get put under the same light as these douche bags??
@vinnybunbats Bring back the instigator! Gretzky, Mario and Orr almost never got cheap shotted. And get rid of the rock hard shouldered pads and elbow pads.
Tie Domi is a fucking disease, and always was. Every time I see a video with him in it, I have to go watch Probert barbecue his ass, to remind myself he eventually got what was coming to him.
@punkassguy Tie Domi was a team player he did anything for his team to have an edge, obviously there was questionable decisions on his behalf but he was never a cheap player or dirty, when you have a role like Domi did there will be alot of haters and alot of lovers its the name of the game. Calling him a disease is disgraceful.
@ShowBusiness90 No, it isn't. Calling him a disease is justified. Did you see the elbow he gave right to Scott Niedermayer's head at the towards the end of the game? Y'know, where he had to get carted off on a stretcher?
Neither one of them were even close to the puck, so there's no chance it was an accident, it was a blatant cheap shot.
If you haven't seen this i suggest you look it up.
@TheWorkOver dude so what allot of guys have done bad things and have made dirty plays if you ever played hockey you can't honestly say you never gave a dirty shot to ANYBODY
i'm form Bretuzzy's home town and back when he played in Sudbury he and Andrew Brunette had scooring wars and now becouse his coach made him an enforcer he is one of the most desspised players int he game
who cares if Domi threw one elbow big woop hes not a disseas hes a great player
Domi was a "right place, right time" player. He's that guy that you stand around in the locker room and roll your eyes and go "that guy".
Biggest case of little dog syndrome I've ever seen in a professional athlete, and it bit him in the ass more than once. You ever seen that video where he gets a few shots in on Probert and skates off the ice buckling an imaginary belt around his waist? Story of Tie Domi's career: Delusions of grandeur.
And to clarify, by "right place, right time" player, I mean he landed a few open-ice hits, and talked a lot of shit that never amounted to anything, but somehow won him a following. I mean when's the last time the Leafs won? '64? '67? He was Sean Avery ten years earlier, nothing more. Cookie cutter goon with something to prove.
My dad told me Domi was the "Sean Avery" of the league back then, would throw cheap hits, antagonize and do stupid things, the difference being, Domi fought way more often.
@Bennetting yeah thats wat i always say too. avery is an even more pussy version of the already very pussy domi. both suck. both cheap shot for a living. both hit people in vulnerable positions. only thing is domi fought more instead of turtling everytime someone answered to him like avery.
@Bennetting He was the sean avery. Tough as nails, but a cheap, and dirty player. The guys now a days that were like Domi are pussies compared to back then. Domi was a disgrace and a cheap shot artist, but he was tough and had balls. Many players like him now a days, like Avery, are pussies. Domi was an Enforcer more than anything, so he had to fight a lot. That was his job on the ice, to fight, talk shit, and back up his team.
You're an idiot and a hack. This clip is from the 2000 playoffs and the Niedermayer incident was from the 2001 playoffs....so Stevens went back in time and exacted revenge? lol
@hockeyyismylife based on what? Compare their fighting history. Domi fought more often, against tougher opponents, and beat tougher opponents. Stevens was a great hitter but he was also a pretty cheap and average-at-best fighter.
@buttkick22 Stevens came into the league swinging. Then he changed his game because he had to much talent to just be a goon. Domi was a tough fighter, but that was his job. Stevens Job was to be a top defense man and leader. They had two different styles and jobs for their team. Stevens also fought many tough guys, and even though he lost most, he hung in with them. I dont think Stevens would whoop him but it would be a great fight. Domi obviously has the edge over stevens since thats his job.
@Kstinky04 Domi was going after Stevens. Stevens is the one who always backed down from fights. I think Domi could've dropped him with one of his good ol' lefts. Too bad Stevens is a bitch. Fuck Stevens and fuck the dirty devils.
Omg... If one more person gives Scott Stevens shit about being cheap. I've watched so many of his replays and i can count the dirty hits on one hand easily. He was the master of catching forwards with their head down. If there were train tracks to hell... Scott Stevens would be the devil at the end.
@pantyhosezaks you retard - it's blindside hits to the head, when the player is looking the other way, Stevens makes sure the player doesn't see him, that have caused to many concussions and ended too many careers of good players (which the NHL is lacking). That is why much more intelligent people than you are trying to ban these hits; they only serve to end careers and pacify people with low IQ’s
@pantyhosezaks Not that I don't love the way he destroyed players but I watched many of his hits and on more than 50% he leaves the ice with his feet; not much but it's there. They were not so clean if we were going by the book which in his case was tolerated by refs too many times. Perhaps because it was not so pronounced...
@pantyhosezaks I agree with you 100% and I'm SO SICK of reading crap against him...mostly comes from Flyer fans and pussy hockey fans. Stevens just knew how to time a hit better than anyone else in his day.
And still. In the end. I have more respect for Tahir Domi than I will ever have for cheapshot Stevens. The albanian should be in the hall of fame instead of Scott.
@OpticClanSucks Far from a pussy, he's more like a douchebag. Being that size and being able to fight with the best is nasty. But he definitely lacks everything class
@1AndOnlyChosen1 you people are idiots, saying domi cant take a hit, im pretty sure you would be out cold if you were in his place, but he barely touched the ground before he was after someones head
@raptors11111 Stevens could fight, but I'd put my $ on tie. Stevens = a beast. Meanest blueliner in NHL history... hon mention to Marty Mcsorley, and Doug Harvey
@sparwood8 Domi is a good fighter, I'll give him that. Tough call. I would think Steven's size would give him the edge but Domi has more experience in the fighting department.
@TheWitchOvAgnesi Good one, I'll never recover from that. It's also ironic that you use the saturated "armchair/keyboard/whatever insult" when you're probably just a tool in real life. I don't even know why I'm replying to this chicken hawk, it looks like his account doesn't even exist anymore.
@Satansgh05t He's bad at hockey and bad at fighting. Throwing your arms like Donkey Kong doesn't make you good. The average person knows nothing about fighting and is more than likely completely out of shape, so that's an easy thing to suggest. Get off his nuts you fucking tool. Nothing is more pathetic than some fat fuck sitting behind a computer talking about what someone ELSE can do.
@GrandUpper but that dosent mean anything and your the tool calling him a fag... if you dont like him then dont fucking watch the video i still bet that he would kick your ass, you probably cant even skate you fat fuck
@Satansgh05t I watched it for Stevens, a good player. Nice insult with calling someone fat btw, I imagine you're a pimply faced shithead who convulses when talking to people in real life. Domi has a clitoris, was a terrible player, and a tool. What kind of person actually thinks fighting is cool? Only fucking cavemen and white trash do, pull your head out of your ass. Nothing is sadder than seeing someone use someone else to talk shit to someone else, get a spine, you fat whore.
Haha, Domi needed an elbow right in the kisser, he was one of the most disrespecful players I have ever had the privilege to see get plastered on the ice. Down with Domi!
Now, if we could get Stevens and Sean Avery on the same rink, we'd make youtube history...

Tie Domi is a fucking disease, and always was. Every time I see a video with him in it, I have to go watch Probert barbecue his ass, to remind myself he eventually got what was coming to him.
punkassguy 8 months ago 3
@punkassguy
You must be a sens fan hahahaha
jkyle96 3 months ago 5
@punkassguy Tie Domi was a team player he did anything for his team to have an edge, obviously there was questionable decisions on his behalf but he was never a cheap player or dirty, when you have a role like Domi did there will be alot of haters and alot of lovers its the name of the game. Calling him a disease is disgraceful.
ShowBusiness90 3 months ago
@ShowBusiness90 No, it isn't. Calling him a disease is justified. Did you see the elbow he gave right to Scott Niedermayer's head at the towards the end of the game? Y'know, where he had to get carted off on a stretcher?
Neither one of them were even close to the puck, so there's no chance it was an accident, it was a blatant cheap shot.
If you haven't seen this i suggest you look it up.
TheWorkOver 3 months ago
@TheWorkOver dude so what allot of guys have done bad things and have made dirty plays if you ever played hockey you can't honestly say you never gave a dirty shot to ANYBODY
i'm form Bretuzzy's home town and back when he played in Sudbury he and Andrew Brunette had scooring wars and now becouse his coach made him an enforcer he is one of the most desspised players int he game
who cares if Domi threw one elbow big woop hes not a disseas hes a great player
hanmerboys 2 months ago
@ShowBusiness90
Watch the next fight. It's ugly.
TiredVigilante 2 months ago
@ShowBusiness90
TiredVigilante 2 months ago
@punkassguy dude Domi was awesome
guys like him make the game more interesting
but if you want to hate on someone hate on Avery the guys not a real player
but Domi was awesome

forgedmazdaspeed 9 months ago 2
My dad told me Domi was the "Sean Avery" of the league back then, would throw cheap hits, antagonize and do stupid things, the difference being, Domi fought way more often.
Bennetting 9 months ago
@Bennetting Your dad gave you some bad info.
psi2hi 9 months ago
@Bennetting yeah thats wat i always say too. avery is an even more pussy version of the already very pussy domi. both suck. both cheap shot for a living. both hit people in vulnerable positions. only thing is domi fought more instead of turtling everytime someone answered to him like avery.
DCnader 9 months ago
@Bennetting He was the sean avery. Tough as nails, but a cheap, and dirty player. The guys now a days that were like Domi are pussies compared to back then. Domi was a disgrace and a cheap shot artist, but he was tough and had balls. Many players like him now a days, like Avery, are pussies. Domi was an Enforcer more than anything, so he had to fight a lot. That was his job on the ice, to fight, talk shit, and back up his team.

@Kstinky04 haha i know right scott stevens would eat him for breakfast.
hockeyyismylife 9 months ago
@hockeyyismylife based on what? Compare their fighting history. Domi fought more often, against tougher opponents, and beat tougher opponents. Stevens was a great hitter but he was also a pretty cheap and average-at-best fighter.
buttkick22 9 months ago
@buttkick22 Stevens came into the league swinging. Then he changed his game because he had to much talent to just be a goon. Domi was a tough fighter, but that was his job. Stevens Job was to be a top defense man and leader. They had two different styles and jobs for their team. Stevens also fought many tough guys, and even though he lost most, he hung in with them. I dont think Stevens would whoop him but it would be a great fight. Domi obviously has the edge over stevens since thats his job.
Meduri89 9 months ago 4
@Kstinky04 domi would beat his ass in a fight

Omg... If one more person gives Scott Stevens shit about being cheap. I've watched so many of his replays and i can count the dirty hits on one hand easily. He was the master of catching forwards with their head down. If there were train tracks to hell... Scott Stevens would be the devil at the end.

ben1ben2ben1 7 months ago
@pantyhosezaks did he even have the puck there don cherry ?
9wilde9 6 months ago
@pantyhosezaks you retard - it's blindside hits to the head, when the player is looking the other way, Stevens makes sure the player doesn't see him, that have caused to many concussions and ended too many careers of good players (which the NHL is lacking). That is why much more intelligent people than you are trying to ban these hits; they only serve to end careers and pacify people with low IQ’s
SPANKED!
varsume 5 months ago
@pantyhosezaks Not that I don't love the way he destroyed players but I watched many of his hits and on more than 50% he leaves the ice with his feet; not much but it's there. They were not so clean if we were going by the book which in his case was tolerated by refs too many times. Perhaps because it was not so pronounced...
micanut48 5 months ago
@pantyhosezaks I agree with you 100% and I'm SO SICK of reading crap against him...mostly comes from Flyer fans and pussy hockey fans. Stevens just knew how to time a hit better than anyone else in his day.
