  • Have they made a civilan varient of this yet

  • Stolen from Star Trek .. lol

    Great gun .

P.S.: Crossfire brought me here ..

  • this is a sweet assault rifle. wonder why they cancelled production on it.

  • i want this gun so badly :(

  • @NullErbamser

i think you have to be law enforcement or military to own this cuz its a foreign made assault rifle so they cant export it but thats just what i think and also its not in production only a couple were made

  • @kolinmartz i know, it sucks. and i live in denmark atm and something like that is pretty illegal. but it is very very cool.

  • it looks like the ACR is an upgraded version of the XM8

  • anybody else read/hear rumors that the XM8's lower receiver cracked after extensive firing?

  • @oeyesea i read that it melt

  • Dear Santa....

  • I wish this gun had not been discontinued.

  • @Cooleyo789 why was it discontinued

  • @kenc12 New ideas came into play. This gun was supposed to replace our crappy M4's but no we stuck with them.

  • @Cooleyo789 ? new ideas like what the scar and the acr which are just rehashes of the ar system. all they did to those guns was add a adjustable gas piston, and on the acr they put a quick change barrel thats it. they are laid out the same way and maybe have less felt recoil but really their is no huge leap. Neither seem like the answer when they are making ar with gas pistons now I really wonder whats next in the rifle development. Right now all the companies are coping each other

  • @kenc12 I agree very much with you.

  • @Cooleyo789

Why? What is so special about it? They don't need the gun, it's not a significant upgrade so it's just a waste of money.

  • @JustAnotherYtuber I just enjoy the way it looks

  • @Cooleyo789 its called economics . Colt keeps making amazing offers , and delays really new weapons. Hell the USMC had to change the name of the hk416 to M27 IAR , and say it would be the replacement for the m249, to be able to buy it and not have Colt intervene.

  • @aseticeliteYou know nothing about a HK weapon or any weapon for that matter if you think the m27 IAR is a renamed 416 because the HK416 is a ASSAULT RIFLE designed to be reliable, accurate and overall the best AR15 platform to this day and years to come, the m27 IAR is a open bolt heavy barrel keep heads down light machinegun version of the HK416,get your facts straight or shut up.and for the sake of our troops i hope we replace the m4 with the hk416 soon.at least we got rid of the crap m249s

  • @kennyroxs55 *facepalm*

  • this is my favorite assault rifle in the world. shame it never saw combat :(

  • it looks a bit like g36

  • @Lars25061998

It is G36. Same magazines, same internals, 99% same mag release. Just different body and grip.

  • DEAR WIZARD KINGS

  • So many "modular" style assault and battle rifles coming out from firearms manufacturers wow. I hope they go on the civilian market!

  • it may be good but it looks just ugly!!!

  • It has nothing to do with an "over patriotic" country. We adopted the HK416 to replace standard LMG's. Besides why replace a weapon that has already proven itself, and one that you already have stockpiles of parts for.

  • @Sanchez14USMC umm the 416 is an assault rifle...

  • i think the XM8 looks sexy gives you that imagie that makes you look high tek and rich. thats why only private military/security comp. use it

  • god damn it's ugly

  • @Ksharp1fan i think it looks better than the m4 , it looks more bulky

  • They probably didn't want their main service rifle to be made by a foreign company, a bit of lobbying done by ArmaLite no doubt.

  • @SebAnders their main service pistols (beretta and sigs) are foreign companies. BAE systems supplies allot of their uniform and tanks, vehicles etc and thats a british company. it has a few issues with the polymer but yeah the main reason it was dropped was over patriotic people high up in the military.

  • im found this weapon at cs extreme v5-v6

  • any one know if this rifle can be bought by civilans.

  • @flyboy3dx In some states of america yes. Im sure u can find the answer on google.

  • @flyboy3dx nope, not at all.

  • Please don't put this in mw4.

  • @ronanbuenaventura mw4? there will be no mw4 lol have you not finished mw3 yet?

  • @emmetgb i haven't even bought it yet :P

  • Just because it looks cool doesn't mean it functions well.

  • @deliciousgamer It is actually very reliable and doesn't jam easily. In a test on various conditions, the XM8 recorded only 127 stoppages while the M4 recorded 307

  • @deliciousgamer

    Well, it does.

  • in metal gear solid doesnt back fire this strongly lmao xD

  • I wish they had mass produced this weapon.

  • @Virk1997 Same here.

  • omg its an aerodynamic g36, even though made differently, lol

  • lol one hand!

  • хуйня ружье) я бы лучше сделал)))))))))))))))

  • oh why oh why did they discontinue development on this weapon...

  • @DontEatWhales I think it was because it was about 60% plastic, and after 500 shots it was unreliable?

    I read this somewhere.

  • @Jaxxmino The XM8 is 8 times more reliable than the M16/M4.

    Read Wikipedia under "Further testing".

  • I love the XM8

  • i thought i heard a problem about melting.

  • ...I am quite curious to see what it would look like if it was made out of carbon fiber

  • I want that...

  • Who's watching cos of battlefield

  • hatah abo klaalb ~.~

  • It's lighter, faster, and over-all better then the m-16 and it was in the prototypical stage, so the supposed melting was likely to be fixed

also from what i've read; cheaper too... no reason not to replace the m-16/m4

  • @zxman162 nah more expensive :P. some over patriotic people cancelled the project for it. there were also issues with the handguard melting(easily fixed anyway). also used the stoner gas system, which is funny as the g36 was supposed to be the most reliable piston rifle like ever.

  • why they canceled that gun can be very useful on citizen use

  • @lordjor82 Mostly political reasons. Not enough of an improvement over the M4/M16 to justify the cost of replacing all of the existing small arms.

  • Looks like a nerf Gun ಠ.ಠ

  • looks very much like the g36 in design but its not. engenious design

  • @MrSvingy it is the g36, just has a new exterior.

  • Its a shame that it'll never be mass produced. I was looking forward to owning one when I saw this gun for the first time and how adaptive it could be for both left and right handed users.

  • @mercenarybdu its terrible, too big, too heavy, to expensive leaked hot oil all over the handle and trigger etc

  • @TheXxVIP3RxX Have you ran the thing through the mill?

  • @mercenarybdu na I read it from a magazine, thats all I could remember from it

  • @TheXxVIP3RxX and apperently the thing melted under sustained fire

  • @jduke6661 No, there were no melting problems.

  • yeah this looks like the child of a G36 and an M4. modular parts and modern/simple aesthetics and ergonomics. a shame they never saw the battlefield.

  • @zdkezios Oh they saw the battlefield...Battlefield: Bad Company 2, that is!

  • Damn I need me one of those

  • it isa just a g36 you fuckin american ^^ lol

  • @Z0mb1e777 technically, the g36 is a different gun, though the G36 WAS made by heckler and koch.

  • @Z0mb1e777 why would u think they're the same gun, anyway? are you a retard?

  • Comment removed

  • @ozmo117 hm guess youre right and it really is a great riffle

  • why cancelled ??

  • @ArmoredZimpa overheating i think

  • @22cibe @ArmoredZimpa no, congress just didn't want to pay for it. It couldn't get funding. I still think it's a huge mistake to let this gun go. It is the best in the world in my opinion.

  • It looks like a toy

  • i heard it was cancelled b/c when overused, the plastic trigger finger melts

  • @cooroxd123 It was the Hand guard, not the trigger, and that was part of it, but that would have been simple enough to fix. It was cancelled mainly because it became too expensive.

  • Actually, the xm8 was cancelled because the program became too expensive. You're not going to go to Iraq or Afghanistan and find many 416's.

  • @Ksimo13 there are quite a few of those actually. I think the US is starting to realise a better weapon system to the m4 is gonna cost allot. shame they dont have the budget of the mod, cus the l85's are friggin expensive.

  • @jimmyhoffa9 um yeah but heers the prob this weapon is cancelled in 2001 from USA and Germany

  • @MyAnimeNation it was cancelled because the m416 preformed better and would be simpler to issue to troops in combat because maintenance and handling are very similar to the m16's and m4's our troops have now and very little retraining would have to be done to issue the m416 as compared to a very new weapon system like the m8. Both are very good guns, but the 416 is just easier to issue as a replacement and a little more durable

  • @armyrangers6434 The military's testing actually found the XM8 to be more reliable than the HK416. The army is looking into the 416 because it's cheaper than the XM8, not because it's better.

  • @m0nkEz same with the airforce yf22 vs the yf23. 22 was cheaper... 23 was better.

  • @oStirFryo Well, faster and stealthier, which would make it more suited to an interceptor role, but they found the F22 to be more agile, and I'm guessing you know how much that can help. I would still rather be in a 22, but they both kick serious ass

  • @oStirFryo but in all honesty do we really need agility? missiles do all the combat. fire and forget from 40miles out. idk

  • @oStirFryo ? google restrepo. or the bin laden raid.

  • @armyrangers6434 of course the weapon over-heated more than the 416 version, which came later. I was at the firing and put over 200 round through my short version, I thought it was fine....but your points are well founded as well.

  • so why was it canceled? looks fine to me lol

  • If only...

  • dear santa...

  • did they ever fix the melting pistol grip or w/e kept melting?

  • @77KBK77 Yes they did (haters tend to conveniently ignore that fact). It increased weight, though.

  • @Kuwaga1 it did, but the original was a little under 6lb anyway, which dessimates most other rifles. even the arx-160 weighs a little more.

  • German Weapon!

  • THEY BETTER HAVE THIS IN MW3

  • 1987: OMG!! It looks like the Predator's rifle!

2011: OMG!! Predator's rifle looks like XM8 assault rifle!

(Sorry for the bad english) :(

  • @filippolippi02 you dont have bad english :D

  • This is the Main Gun of Crysis :D

  • does he have a prosthetic right ring finger?

  • @GearsofHaloTheftHalo hes cute

  • I would have liked to try this weapon.

  • Around the barrel is plastic, and it melts down after a longer burst!

  • @OverG88 ...As anybody who does a little research should already know, no, H&K fixed that long ago.

  • Nothing but a modern design.... that's all.

  • @Aussieisbest94 foregrips were melting i think

  • Anyone know if/when this is/will be standard issue?

  • @Aussieisbest94 too expensive and malfunctioned a lot. Most were good guns though

  • ambidextrous just like the g36 yay 4 you heckler and koch

  • Dear U.S. special forces,

Can you send one of those to me:)

  • Why dident the US Army Canclle this?

  • @MAJORSTEVEN Look, it's true I never saw this rifle in action, but I have talked to the actual soldiers that had and they all said the same thing about this rifle. It didn't work as well as the company promised and like I said earlier, it was too expensive to make.

  • @556deltawolf what are the advantages of this weapon

  • @xxxCRAZYLOVExxx The advantages of the weapon are: it's expensive and defective :D

  • @FuryGearSolid -_- that was a bad anwser

  • Great :)

  • Great rifle in a perfect dream world but terrible in reality. I heard the barrel starts to warp after 2 full clips and the holographic sight battery life is short. I dont know where people get the idea the holographic sights are good in warfare. Plus from what i can see the rifle doesent even have a backup sight.

  • wow does anyone realize that the reson that this rifle didnt pass its test in the army is because it along with the g36 of which the xm8 is just a reskinned version has the annoying tendancy to melt its self

  • good rifle but you cant sell it for $3714 each even to the U.S ARMY !!

  • its good that XM 8 is not in COD XD

  • @Nightmare1324 Actually I've heard completely different stories from several soldiers who were stationed at Benning who tested this rifle. They found it completely unsatisfactory. Not only that, the barrel was actually prone to melting during sustained fire. It was also WAY overpriced and Hecklar and Koch was asking too much for it. I think the army should just try to improve the M4 rather than waste money on a weapon system which while it may work in the trails may not work on the field.

  • @556deltawolf

You can't tell me this crap.

"waste money on a weapon system which while it may work in the trails may not work on the field."

How would you know if it did or didn't worked in the field when the XM8 never saw a limited field test.

It isn't a waste of money to test out a weapon that is proclaimed to have significant advantages with some facts to support it (which the XM8 did).

    The reason why is this:

If there is a good chance this will help us then it is worth testing out.

  • i think this is the one that the navy seals used when taking down binladen's compound. if the footage was real that is

  • xm8's are my favorite guns

  • looks like a fancy g36 :p

  • Great weapon though weak ammo type!

How well does it handle extreme weather and climate?

Most yankee weapons are pretty poor on that department

unlike the swedish submachine gun wich can be drenched in mud and still be usable!

  • @TheShadowwolf88 The 5.56 is more than sufficient, in a heavy dust test, the XM8 managed only around 120 stoppages, while the M4/M16's, clocked in at over 800.

  • @Nightmare1324

True but the M16 was horrible at first the XM8 is still a relatively young weapon!

How many rounds does it carry!

Though the most effective weapon today is the german G11 with it´s rather uniqe ammo (caseless)!

  • @TheShadowwolf88 It carries 32, same as the G36, and the G11 was manufactured by Heckler and Koch, before the XM8, and was still a experimental design, just like the XM8. A real shame.

  • @Nightmare1324

I thought the G11 had at least 40 thank´s to it´s caseless ammo!

  • @TheShadowwolf88 The Xm8 carried 32 rounds in it's magazine. The H&K G11 had around 45-50 rounds. An exceptional weapon.

  • @Nightmare1324

Even though the XM8 may look good I think the U.S army´s got a lot mileage to go on the M4 still!

  • @TheShadowwolf88 The XM8 is lighter, more controllable, ambidextrous, reliable, and accurate. Despite the M4, "Getting the job done," the XM8 beats it by miles in every aspect. The XM8 may not have pictanny rails, but it does have an attachement system, that has proved more capable, which doesn't require excessive calibration of equipment. It's much lighter, and by swapping out the barrel, upper reciever, stock, and magazine, it can be turned into a SAW, Marksman rifle, or SMG.

  • @Nightmare1324

WOW and I thought us swedes liked universal weapons our older AK4 could actually be rebuilt to fire grenades(you had to fire the grenade BEFORE firing any bullets) and I even heard someone managed to rebuild it to be beltfed(unconfirmed)!

But I guess the XM8 is a definite THUMBS UP from me then!

  • @Nightmare1324

Wait a minute did you say SAW as in aotumatic shotgun???

  • @TheShadowwolf88 SAW, squad automatic weapon. a rifle designed for sustained, suppressing fire.

  • @Nightmare1324

Nix that last what did SAW mean again?

  • @Nightmare1324 Have´nt the yank´s developed something similar with their P90?

  • i'm pretty sure the only reason this has more than 1000 views is because of battlefield lol

  • looks a bit like the SCAR from Crysis 2

  • Forever Fish

  • COMBAT ARMS :D

  • do they make a civilian version, that would be a BADASS hog gun

  • @Buckshot0008 its a gun that was never mass build for reasons unkown so there you have it the US army good at only 2 things wasting time and spending money

  • XM8 just looks awesome. Even if it is inefficient.

  • i love that gun

  • This gun is cool. But, a piece of shit in some cases. In 60,000 rounds, non-stop, this gun had 127 stoppages. The M4 had 882 stoppages. The only problem was overheating.

  • @DeadpoolDeadcool The less stoppages the better.

  • Isn't the XM8 based on the G36C?

  • so the US military didnt bite? try targeting US civilian, Id bite for the right price

  • Thumbs up if you are tired of stupid gamers learning guns from games itself than researching it from the ground up.

  • @LilATL94 i lke guns in games, but i dont base my knowledge from that, the game designers put their own perspective and interesting idea of the guns in games.

  • @LilATL94 well sometimes the idea of a gun from a game designer sucks!! *cough* Black Ops

  • Where do you think they got the interest for them? Kids back then got them from movies and even further back from family. What they are doing now is what many of our grandparents were doing back then, pretending to be Cowboys and Indians (Not Aliens).

  • @LilATL94 This. Elistist and proud.

  • @LilATL94 redneck.

  • @gonor lmao fail kid. Just because I said that doesn't mean I'm a redneck. Plus.....I'm Asian.

  • @LilATL94 I play video games but I'm also curious to learn more about weapons, the only thing that bothers me is that many people today play Call of Duty and they have to make those comments so yeah agreed.

  • @LilATL94 Yea alot fo guns i learn from wikipedia bye my self but like 10 guns i found out from games and reserched them its kinda a werid too for me

  • @LilATL94 coming from a gamer. trying to be badass, eh?

  • @MoonStruckHorrorsX nope. Just saying and proving what the stupid issue with people today when it comes to weapon knowledge.

As a matter of fact. Have you shot any firearms? Examples are Bushmaster M4A3, HK MR556A1 (military variant is H&K 416) or sig sauer p226 tactical operations variant?

  • @LilATL94 thumbs up whore

  • @LilATL94 st fu.

  • @xboneava Funny man. You don't know about guns. You just go acting around like a G.

  • @LilATL94 Good luck with trying to buy or even try to use any gun in Poland.

  • @LilATL94 thumbs up if your sick of people who WHINE about people learning guns from videogames.
