The only advantage I can see on the bose speakers is the digital signal (usb). Z-2300 are much more powerful with equal quality to the bose ones. It can't be percieved on the video because it's just a low quality video and the Z-2300 sattelites are far more closer to each other than the bose spaceships.

What Bose speakers does is that it has patented circuitry inside it which manipulate the song to create more soundroom also called as "surround sound". Bose speakers are ideal for songs that have a live image like Jazz, Acoustic, and Piano/Orchestra and maybe some RnB. IMHO they are not ideal for Rock, Pop, dance and etc.

@bibixupaqui I have the same configuration. And i can say also: WOW. This test is nor very fair but it shows that the Bose is specified in clear miss and the Logitech (with a crappy sound card :-D) in deeps and highs. I like both systems.

The Comp. 5 is SO MUCH clearer than the Logitech.

Something else, good sound quality does not mean huge amounts of bass. The bass should be clear, not boomy, and with too much bass you can ruin a song. Good sound quality is the perfect mix between highs, mids and lows.

Bose is clear cause they have an automatic built in compressor which is good for films etc but in my opinion terrible for listening to music. Ive been a professional musician for the last 12 years and travelled all over the world with my job performing at some of the biggest concert halls on the planet and i can tell you from a professionals view on what to listen for that the BOSE speakers win hands down. As Mooiboye says if you have never worked in a professional studio ever, stay out of reviewing sound when you don't know what your listening for. Quality not volume is the answer.

Logitech sounds so tinny compared to the Bose. Sure the Logitech has better bass but it's not real...let me explain, all that is happening is the Logitech system is emphasizing the low frequency signal of the song to give the illusion of more base, most low end companies do this to sell to people that believe bass is what makes a song. Bose systems leave the signal untouched so you hear what the artist intended, if you want a true music experience Bose or B&W speakers are the only way to go.

Bose and Logitech have a tremendous quality, but they aren't the best speakers, you have to hear studio monitors like KRK, Mackie, JBL, Behringer, Alesis, Yamaha, I have the JBL Control Monitor(consumer version) with a Harman Kardon HK3490 receiver and it sounds 1,000,000 times better than Bose and Logitech.

I will say this i think its the best idea to use USB for sound. reasons are simple, it stays digital until it is projected out of the speakers. unlike analog you lose quality going through the amp... its the same with video. analog (s-vid, and component) digital (HDMI, fiber optics and USB)

the z5500 definitley got better bass... more powerfull and more deep bass.

BUT the z2300 got very good , and clear sound. but the logitech z5500 won there too..

Bad idea bud. Bose uses acoustic waves to produce the best sound quality to your room. using the z-5500 will conflict with the bose sound waves and cancel eachother out. plus the Companion 5 is all digital and i believe, correct me if im wrong, Logitech is all analog

@Grimnash2009 no, you aren't...Bose is digital, infact I use USB to make it work, but I can use analog too, the USB gives only the 5.1 effects, but with the z-5500 I'll be able to hear a 7.2 sound...

and I Believe that Bose is a very good product, but still doesn't satisfies me talking about power..I like to listen to music at a very high volume, and I thought that z-5500 is for now the best system comparing Power and Quality..But I've heard also that the driver burns pretty fast..is that real??

You're also talking about power. if you havent noticed bose does not announce they power consumption. this is because they dont focus on volume to pick up high quality. they use acoustics as i said before. granted the logitech probably uses twice as much power as the Bose.
