  • You're short!

  • Pure power

  • Nice lift man that's my goal!!

I'm at 157 maxing 400 so almost there but not quite...

  • Pits dude!! Eww

  • you must be like 5'6" 5'7" cause you look pretty big. deffinately not taking away from ur lift though this is pretty damn good.

  • My ass he is 175

  • Whos the Ronnie Coleman wannabe shouting in the background?

  • @Ludichris8531 yeah I agree with you completely. relative weight is bull shit is what I'm saying

  • @Ludichris8531 but they weighed more is my point. when they add bodyweight into the equation tall guys get screwed

  • This is fucked.

  • Wow, good form too? Wtf is this bullshit, I was expecting him to bounce it up and down like the average youtube bench presser. And nevermind the lift, are those plates locked together? That shit is badass.

  • Good lift probably 5'7 175 lbs putting up 405.

  • now that was a good lift especially for his size. no cheating here.

  • it kinda looks like 2 plates. How tall is he?!

  • awesome press bro i just got into the 300lbs and my form is spot on like yours dont listen too these haters who talk shit about bench pressin your press was a legit competition form of bench pressing so in all Great lift brotha....

  • @4oldskool Oh hi, Mr. Hoover77. Are you so pathetic that you are now "trolling" from this account? I love how you use a different account to "troll" me since you do such a shitty job on your other account..pfft. Make all the accounts you want..it doesn't change or disprove how pathetic you are. lol actually, if anything you should keep on entertaining me. This is quite a show watching you trying so hard to "troll" me and yet still fail. Switch it up or i'm going to start getting bored

  • 85 kg?

  • Its called relative strength...1RM/BW=RS.

  • Damn how I hate the "hovering" spotter.

  • That's not a midget..... that's just a very short man. lol.

  • Nice keep up the good work

  • That was a very good lift. Amazing

  • Those are awesome plates

  • AWESOME!!!! I weigh 225 and max out @ 425 with suicide grip also.. So your way ahead of me!! Keep up the good work!! Stay HOGGING it!!!

  • The thing "YEAHH BABY...." makes it possible.

  • Comment removed

  • thats not 405, thats 225 or assuming those are 55lbs then 265, either way far from 405!! fix your title

  • @sabutai11 it's 405...4 plates on each side that overlap each other. Open your eyes to more than just the weights you're accustomed to lifting (if any).

  • @sabutai11 it's 405 champ....

  • That was not 405! more like 225!

  • @evilgeof1932

    the plates over-lap dude.

  • @evilgeof1932 it's 405 champ......

  • gum in the weightroom?

  • Nice lift, man. I like how those plates fit nicely together.

  • lol @ the guy trying to be ronnie coleman in the background, so funny.

    'YEAHHH BUDDY.....YEAH BUDDDDYDYDYDY'

  • REDNECKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • It looks like a good lift until I saw movement on his left leg during the push. It could have been a scratch. In a competition lift you can't move your legs or feet. Bottom line. I gotta give props where it's due... the guy pressed that shit up. That lift is one of the best I have seen. Considering his body weight... awesome! The taller guys will continue to bitch because they are jealous. "Range of motion" and blah blah blah....it's all about physics. You are either strong or not. Deal with it.

  • damn all that, and the suicide grips.

  • muscle dwarf

  • i dont see how people use suicide grips, i can never get as much weight, its like it effects my whole lift

  • @ThatDunneKid190

because the most powerful bench really lays across the lower part of the palm and put more emphasis on the lats and chest where as a closed fist would put more emphasis on shoulders and tri's working harder then the chest.

  • i was cheering for that Asian spotter

  • I've seen TALL people out bench, out squat, and out deadlift SMALL people. And yes.... they both were at the same weight! Most of the time it's a tall person bitching because he is weak and someone shorter than him is stronger. TRAIN HARDER AND STOP BEING A BITCH!

  • @MrHoover77 Haha, i know right? It's silly to say that someone's height makes a difference in their "range of motion" or even imply that it makes short people stronger than taller people. Shorter people can have lanky disproportionate arms just like a taller guy too...Whatever, it's always a scrawny or fat keyboard troll that finds something bad to say about everything.

  • @hotcocao55 Obviously you have never competed before in your life. Talk about "troll"..... it is you that has the problem. Accept the facts and move on in life. Train harder and stop bitching.

  • @MrHoover77 LOL wow...are you mentally retarded? I was agreeing with you, you dumb retarded, mong. And don't talk tough and accuse people you've never seen behind that computer of yours. If you went to my gym, everyone there would tell you i'm 1 of the hardest working at my gym. And you're not tough when you say "train harder and stop bitching." You obviously have no idea what you're talking about...LOL And unlike you, i realize this argument won't do any good behind a computer. So, bye. Prick

  • @hotcocao55 It was a good gym lift.. no doubt. Hey that guy is strong. Knock on me all you want. If that makes you feel good.

  • @hotcocao55 Ha ha ha. Much obliged to get under your skin!!!!

  • @MrHoover77 lol I haven't signed in for a while...And you did not get under my skin...and A, why did you delete your post? And B... why did you change it to "Ha ha ha. Much obliged to get under your skin!!!!"? Are you that insecure that your ego revolves around youtube comments? But nice job attempting to save yourself though ;) You failed miserably as a supposed troll. Add me if you want. It's just youtube bro, don't let it get to your head. Stop bitchin' and train hard! Laters brah.

  • @hotcocao55 I'm not your "brah". I lift weights and I call it like I see it.

  • @MrHoover77 kewl story bro

  • @hotcocao55 No "stories" here. Train harder and quit hating.

  • @MrHoover77 Quit replying to my messages and then deleting your posts and rewriting them to sound cool. In fact, don't bother replying. Period. I haven't been on for a while because i have a life unlike you who just sits there 24/7 waiting for me to say something while you think of something "clever" to say. Far from clever actually. Anyways, i bet you're weak and scrawny. Post a vid or pic of yourself or gtfo. And quit hating and copying what i say.

  • @hotcocao55 Well you would lose that bet. You are just here to get some "brownie points". You have 3 thumbs up... but do you have 3 women on the side like I do.. I BET NOT! Shut your mouth, I'll make you suck my dick!

Oh......... OH.... he pulls the old so OLD "I have a life" line. Well if you did you wouldn't be concerned about what I say... now would you? Fuckin hypocrite.

  • @MrHoover77 the tall people you mention got strong IN SPITE OF disadvantages. a tall guy who presses 405 for 2 feet is obviously stronger than a short guy pressing it for 1.25 feet.

  • @MrHoover77 Lets say that there is a guy who is 6'2 that max benches 385 and he weighs 210lbs. Then there is a guy who is 5'4 and weighs 150lbs and benches the same weight, the taller guy is going to be stronger because his arms are longer and he has to travel farther with the weight, short guys only have to travel like 6 inches to their chest cause they have short stubby arms. All in all the tall weightlifter wins, he looks better, hes stronger, not some short, fat, hairy gorilla man

  • @Fx4Ranger2002 "not some short, fat, hairy gorilla man" Hey! I resemble that comment!

  • @Fx4Ranger2002 And, a serious thought regarding your comment -- Your example of comparing a 6'2" 210 lb man who benches 385 to a 5'4" 150 lb man who also benches 385, and saying the taller guy is stronger because he has longer arms and has to push the weight farther doesn't really work in your example...due to the fact that the taller guy (in your example) happens to outweigh the shorter guy by 60 lbs. This would mean the taller guy would have more muscle mass than the shorter guy

  • @Fx4Ranger2002 Since your hypothetical tall guy has 60 lbs and more muscle mass on the short guy, then he isn't really stronger than him is he? Because the shorter guy has the disadvantage of only weighing 150 lbs and having less muscle mass to work with. If he does bench 385 in spite of this, most people would say he was the stronger one lb for lb. And in powerlifting he would be in a lower weight class and would win by formula. In powerlifting they only care about your weight.

  • @Fx4Ranger2002 There are no height classes in powerlifting, because it has been found that strength in more related to body mass/muscle mass, than height. So a 6'2" 210 lb man, would be, and should be, generally stronger than a 5'4" 150 lb man. That's why they would divide them into different weight classes to make it more fair, so both guys could enjoy the chance to do well in powerlifting.

  • @Fx4Ranger2002 A better example than yours, would be to compare guys who are of EQUAL weight, but different heights, and lift the same weight. So, let's say there is a 6'2" 200 lb guy, and a 5'6" 200 lb guy, and they both benchpress 300 lbs. Then, I would say the taller guy is stronger due to pushing the weight farther. But if the 5'6" guy was only 140 lbs, the whole "taller guy is stronger" theme goes out the window, because now he has a weight advantage.

  • @oratorman I guess what I was trying to say that in the eyes of the uneducated people would find the 150lb short guy bench pressing 380 more impressive than the 210lb 6'2 guy benching 380.

  • @Fx4Ranger2002 Dude, it is more impressive for a 150 lb short guy to bench 380, than for a 6'2" 210 lb guy to! The 6'2" 210 lb guy is several inches taller and weighs 60 lbs more than the 5'4" 150 lb guy, he is bigger in every sense of the word. And yet, if in spite of his obvious size advantage, a little wiry guy is benchpressing as much as him, then yes, I would be more impressed by the little guy.

  • @Fx4Ranger2002 Should we be more impressed if a tall guy who weighs 200+ lbs is as strong as a short guy who only weighs a buck fifty??? That doesn't make any sense. I mean, if I saw some guy who weighed 60 lbs less than me lift as much as I do, I wouldn't say I was more impressive than him.

  • @oratorman Because the taller guy is stronger even know they press the same, he has to go farther with the weight

  • @Fx4Ranger2002 Yes I agree with you...IF the tall guy and the short guy are of equal bodyweight. If the short guy is 60 lbs lighter than the tall guy, then the short guy is stronger because he is lifting the same weight with less muscle. If we go by what you're saying then if I benchpress as much as a 6'3", 270 lb guy, you could say he is stronger because he is pushing it farther, even though he outweighs me by 50 lbs and is a much bigger guy. It's a very unfair comparison.

  • @oratorman yeah not really height equals more weight. if you are tall you kinda get screwed with this relative strength crap. its harder to press the same amount of weight and we already carry more weight from bigger longer bones, organs, etc.

  • @Fx4Ranger2002 Some guys are big dudes, who are tall and have big muscles, and they get outlifted by guys half their size...you've got to give those little powerlifters credit where it's due, they are stronger.

  • @Fx4Ranger2002 And look up the facts -- All the strongest benchpressers in the world lately: Gene Rychlak, Scott Mendelson, and Ryan Kenelly, are guys over 6ft tall. So if you get outlifted by a guy who is shorter and lighter than you, you can't legitimately use the height excuse.

  • @Fx4Ranger2002 If it was all about how long your arms are, then how come the world record holder in the benchpress, Ryan Kenelly, is 6'2"?

  • Nice!

  • these shorter guys can lift some serious weights

  • Probably look thick for 175 cuz of your height, in addition to being able to move that kind of weight at that....weight, lmao. Dude, solid lift!!!

Know a couple guys who just give up when they hit that sticking point, but you pushed on through. Someone must've had the shy girl at prom.

  • Awesome lift. I was hoping to hit 405 at my past weight of 165, but injury to rotator cuff stopped that. Never got a real max, but I was repping 315 and it felt so easy, my goal became 4 plates per side.

  • you do not look 175 kid

  • @TheIpkilla16 Yeah, he looks a lot younger than that. Maybe in his 20's. Only people I knew or heard of that lived past 175 are in the bible.

  • He is the only person on youtube who filmed their self doing a rep with out cheating by not going down or up all the way, lifting your back off the bench, or bouncing the bar. Why cant people on youtube bench!

  • Ha look t these dumb fucks trying to criticize, they don't gotta fucking clue, his thumbs are that way to deliver more power, accidents happen because people are throwing weight around, he was in control the whole time slow up and slow down, technique so don't give ur 2 minute experience wit a guy who has been doing this is whole life, cuz u sound like a dumb fuck, nd my dad maxed out 620 weighing that weight, sane strategy as this boy, so if he keeps it up he'll catch up so good luck. Dude

  • @steffenreeser14 LOL your dad lied to you.

  • lol people always pull the short arms card etc. the only people that cant bench much is the taller skinny guys. someone 5'8 200 vs 6'3 200 same BF yeah the shorter guy is prob gonna bench more. if the tall guy was 250+ hed bench more. you just have to have the mass for your frame

  • @rogue8853 I know! So annoying. The short arms card is a perfect excuse for someone taller that is WEAK...they disregard the fact that they usually have 40lbs. on who ever they critisize. 405 is 405 and jealousy's a killer...

  • @rogue8853 your just a dumbass, 5'8 200 solid ass pounds is huge.. 6'3 200 is nothing and wud get destroyed by 5'8 200,and itz nothing to do with your mass and frame wtf.. itz your chest strength and upper body alone to bench alot

  • @MegaUnavailableusern Upper body alone determines bench press strength? you are stupid if you think thats true

  • @MrCatalano14 Im not saying it's how big your upper body is but that'z all you use when you bench press. why the fuck do you think they use bench pressing for paralympic athletes?? cause they have no legs or their legs are paralysed, maybe cause you don't use your legs, your the stupid one..

  • @MegaUnavailableusern Good bench pressers use their legs quite alot. How many paralympic atheletes have world records? accroding to you they have no real disadvagtage. You are an idiot, learn some bench press form, leg drive is VERY important if you ever want to push a big amount of weight

  • @MrCatalano14 aw go suck a fat one, itz mostly your upper body.. if i lift my legs off the ground when i bench itz roughly the same as when they are on the ground, bench the same, and paralympic atheletes obviously find it harder to train and less time perhaps..

  • @MegaUnavailableusern You're stupid dude you have no clue. It doesnt make a difference to you cause you are probably only lightweight. Educate yourself about bench press tips, you will be happy you did

  • @MrCatalano14 What do you mean by leg drive?, In competition bench, you are not allowed to move your feet from the floor, you must maintain your butt and shoulder blades on bench at all times during press. Your feet are never allowed to touch any part of the bench, or press is disqualified. In competition that I have been in, your legs must be out in front of you during the whole press, and bar grip must be on knurled parts of bar. Your full of shit!

  • @Vv132164 Hahahahahahahahahah Whats do I mean by leg drive? Yup its official you are a pussy! learn how to bench press you weak internet warrior prick. You have the worst comments, you should probably just stop.

  • @MrCatalano14 how do you use leg drive on a bench?

  • SICK LIFT!!!

  • thats an impressive lift... i hope to get there someday as well

  • Damn man, nice, im 175 and i can barely bench 275 haha, keep it up man =)

  • i love it when people use the "he has short arms" EXCUSE!. That was impressive man keep it up!.

  • nerds!!!!can't stop over-analyzing everything. Ectomorph...psh. I'd hate to hear your speech when somebody farts. Wet, not wet, ectowet...blowout...stains.............

  • find a team, and play fullback. that is all. crazy weight nice job

  • Wow, Nice tits bro!

  • NICE!

  • haha too bad he weighs more then 175

  • Thats not fair.

  • check were his thumbs are thats how accidents happen

  • @007KHul

    yea thats nuts.

that was a good, clean rep.

  • @007KHul I have been benching with a false grip for about 21 years now. Never had any kind of "accident". Ususally dudes who are members at Planet Fitness for about six months and then move on to a new hobby think benching with a false grip is dangerous.

  • @ctluba

It is dangerous. PERIOD. But by all means, go on.

  • @007KHul Yeah, the lift was impressive, but he shouldve wrapped his thumbs around the bar... Wouldve easily slipped off his wrist and get hurt

  • @007KHul

That grip is not as bad as people make it seem. Honestly, if that much weight decides to go down, 2 thumbs isn't going to stop it.

  • what are you training for..?

  • solid lift! sweet plates too.

  • Ronnie Coleman was the camera man>?

  • nice lift man, good to see someone bench press without shooting their hips in the air.

  • I love all the pathetic faggots that criticize lifting videos. No where else can you see such blatant jealousy.

  • it looked like you were gonna lock out. it always helps when you got your boys screamin' in your face to get that shit up

  • Holy shit i would never want to look like you. Can you even wipe your own ass or comb your hair? Nice bench though man. Alot of weight.

  • your thumb placement is scary

  • what kind of plates are those? they look much better for fitting max weight on the bar

  • what a midget

  • Death grip? If your scared of it then don't do it....if you really turn your palm enough to make it slide off your hands your little thumbs are not going to save your life..your arms would come forward and it would fall on you anyway

  • You sir a idiot... GJ for lifting that pile of weight but you are gonna die if you keep continue holding the bar in the "Death" grip... your thumbs must be around the bar... lucky you didnt had any accident... yet. Just change the grip and keep up the good work

  • i am 4ft9 98 pounds and i can bench 735

  • im 5ft8 124 pounds and i can benchpress 700 pounds

  • You must be like 5ft 6

  • that lift would not make in competition!its called a bounce there is a least a one secoun pause before the ref clapes his hands!!gymman62

  • great lift man. your hips werent even in the air, form was beautiful.

  • i love those plates hes got on there they fit so snugly

  • Greatest feeling in the world

  • why dont u get paid for this instead of posting on youtube to show off your ego? Oh i forgot u a fake shit! NEXT!

  • dang those plates are sick

  • @dperezservite hell fucking yeah dude those plates are fucking tight!

  • Boss that was phenomenal. Keep it up!

  • That was sick Bro

  • hey bro congrats man your truly one of those guys with super good genetics. your one in a million bro keep it up shits beast! its sad that people still find ways to hate on you lmao i just dont understand! i guarantee you if you benching 715lbs they would still hate on you bro.

  • LOL look how short he is. Range of motion.......1 inch

  • @jasonjinx lol i watched your videos your ass is so weak compare to this guy you wouldnt even be able to move 1cm with this weight buddy. sit your emo ass down and just watch how big boys lift good day mate!

  • @westcoast2180

Mate? I have been lifting solid for one year now all natural. My gains have been going up steady but to you I should be lifting for someone else. I lift for me, you jerkoff. Its no secret that smurfs have a crap range of motion. I rather be tall and lift with good form than be some midget who can move 400 lbs two inches.

  • @jasonjinx I looked at your curling video, NICE CURLING IN THE SQUAT RACK BRAH

  • i dont know but i have the impression that an average joe can lift 405 lbs if he trains really hard at the gym for years even though its a lot of effort anybody (male) can achieve it.. respect for this guy

  • those are some funny lookin plates.

  • Good shit man.

  • Yeah he is short and does have short arms which reduces the range of motion, but 405 is still a shitload of weight.

  • @xsmunies reduce the range of motion-true, but someone taller with bigger hands would have more potential and maybe even muscle due to that fact exactly, because bigger body=bigger muscles so if a tall and a not so tall guy train together the tall should be able to get lot more stronger so no 'super' advantage for the short-heck i agree though, impressive weight (especially taking into consideration his body-weight!)

  • @koutsompiskoto Not if the the taller guy is an ectomorph. Longer arms = Longer force arm against gravity = Weakassbitch = Me

  • @Sessions411 (having in mind that he a taller man is training hard and frequently with weights) = longer arm=bigger muscles-bigger muscles=greater capacity+potential for lifting more weight, everything has more than 1sides (like it or not) -so in essense the difference is almost eliminated or at worst, it gives a bit of an advantage to someone with larger=bigger muscles >meaning -apparently- taller overall guy

  • @koutsompiskoto Ever heard of an ectomorph??? Potentiality won't mean a whole lot.. Kinesiology 101 bro

  • @koutsompiskoto Longer bone doesn't mean bigger muscle. Thicker bone means bigger muscle. I've been lifting for 5 years. Just because you're taller, doesn't mean you're going to be larger.

  • @xsmunies What does having "short" arms have to do with reducing his range of motion? His "short arms" are still equally proportionate to the REST of his body . We've all seen taller guys with a stockier build or small guys with stockier builds (such as the guy in the vid). And if anything, his OVERALL small stature & his OVERALL proportions compared to a bigger guy would make the bench MORE challenging for him as opposed to a bigger guy with the same proportions as this shorter guy. Check out

  • Comment removed

  • The thought put into your comment is just silly... just sayin'

  • @xsmunies YEAH, OK CHIEF lol

  • @xsmunies And actually, my replies to you didn't require that much thought for a person like you. Took me only a couple of minutes to write 'em. And i'm not the one cutting people short of what they do. I'd like to see you put a vid up of yourself lifting that much weight...that's what i thought. You're just jealous. And don't respond if all you can say is "...The thought put into your comment is just silly... just sayin'." Actually, don't respond at all please. I feel dumber arguing w/you.

  • @hotcocao55 lol you are ridiculous

  • @xsmunies Nope, you. & i find it funny that you didn't reply to my 1st reply knowing full well on your part it would've shown up at the top of the page in its proper context along with my other comments. Oh well, as far as this vid goes, i guess unsuccessful people (like you) like making excuses for taller people & trolling is all you got. Welp, you failed as a troll :) Like i said, unless his arms were disproportionately short, (they're not & have nothing to do with lifting more) can't hate him

  • @hotcocao55 you're still going at it? haha. What's funny is that, by what you've been saying, you obviously don't understand my comment at all. In no way was I putting him down. Context is a good thing to look for, just a little tip to keep in mind.

  • @xsmunies I completely understand your comment....."Yeah he is short and does have short arms which reduces the range of motion, but 405 is still a shitload of weight." Since you're not only wrong about this statement, and you say he "reduced the range of motion," you ARE putting him down, genius. And don't tell me about context you mong. I love how every youtuber tries to act technical when i point out a mistake or something stupid that they say (like from you). Just a tip to keep in mind.

  • @xsmunies.... and taller people usually can deadlift more than shorter people!!! Taller people are always in the World's Strongest Man competitions!!!

  • @xsmunies

Wrong....If a taller guy with longer arms were to get on that bench he would lift the bar from the same position as the shorter guy. A proper power bench press takes the bar directly forward from its resting position and brings it down into the eccentric and back up to its resting place where he took it from.

Technically speaking a shorter guy with shorter range would actually use a deeper range of motion because he would almost have to reach up to put it back to its resting place.

  • @justinp766 this is bullshit lol

  • @nightgrip

you are bullshit , and you are also a very little dude. Most the time people who talk about shorter people having a shorter range of motion are little people who are not very strong. It they ever did the research on it and studied human bio mechanics in college they would actually see that there is no advantage for shorter people.

  • @justinp766 I agree. It's also simple relativity and physics. A shorter guy can also have long arms disproportionate to their body as with any taller guy...In fact, being shorter would only make bench more challenging, therefore, no one can really use the excuse that tall people have it harder...it's a silly statement from xsmunies. The guy in this video has shorter arms because he's strong...has nothing to do with having a shorter stature...silly idiots playing the "short" card.
