iJevin, you could always edit the minecraft.jar file and remove the rain sound from it. Supposedly 1.9 will have a brand new sound for rain.

you don't need a super fast computer, i have an older Core 2 Duo E7400 w/ 4GB ram and an old 9500GT nVidia card, cost me 500AUD to build the whole thing and i get on average, around 100fps.

iJevin's lag is because he is using fraps at the same time, well, some of his lag is because of that.

Minecraft is a bit annoying with the lag, but F3 does seem to help. Was using a 256x or whatever HD pack with 60+ average FPS at one point, then when the 1.6 came along and I updated everything, it started running with the pack at under 20, unless I had the F3 screen up constantly, which made it run normal.

Oh well, can't expect a Beta game to be perfect.

I think you should line the track to the quarry with smooth stone half slabs, so smoothstone hs/ planks / track / planks / smoothstone hs. Though i realise it's alot of work for something that has no benefits beyond aesthetics! :)
