Man sports made such an impact when we were little, dont care how old we get, names like Moyer, Johnson, Griffey, Rodriguez, Buhner, Martinez, Olerud will never leave
Lined down the left field line for a base hit. Here comes Joey, here is Junior to third base, they're gonna waive him in! The throw to the plate will be LATE! AND THE MARINERS ARE GOING TO PLAY FOR THE AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP! I DON'T BELIEVE IT, IT JUST CONTINUES! MY, OH, MY!!!! -Greatest call in sports history. Miss ya every game Dave.
Those outside of Seattle just don't have any idea what all of this meant to us fans here. I was at game 2 against the Yankees at the Kingdome, it was one of the most incredible games I have been too in my life. I still have the game they won against the Angels and the game where Edgar drove in Griffey on videotape, watching it brings back a lot of great memories, can't believe it was over 15 years ago, seems like yesterday. RIP Dave Niehaus.
Im a yankees fan and i pressed like on this video because it was a truly fantastic series and i actually liked the Mariners players such as Tino and Edgar Martinez and Griffey they had likeable players not like Texas or Boston. And also Yanks won in 96,98,99 and 00 anyway.
@Killer0fTheSun Dave Niehaus, the Mariners announcer since they started in 1977, passed away in November 2010. They had a memorial service at Safeco, and his call of "The Double" was played on the big screen. It was like it was happening all over again. Regardless of who you root for, there are some calls that will live forever, and that's one of them. :-)
@IndianJack3030 Fuck the Yankees, but yea, it's funny how us Seattle fans are content with mediocrity. YEA WE MADE THE PLAYOFFS, FUCK YEA!!!!! WOO HOO!!! I'll be fucking ecstatic if the Hawks go 8-8 or 9-7 this year. LOL Sad but true.
Personally I think we have the best fans in the MLB. We have a losing record for like almost 20 years and we still support. We aren't like Rays fans, Marlins fans, Pirates fans (when they blew), Nats fans (always blow), their fans almost never go to the games. When 1995 happened, Griffey and the crew put the Mariners on the map, and we will always stay there.
Griffey at his best...he was a force of nature throughout this series, not only at the plate but on the base paths as well - especially on "the double." I was sitting in right field (would've caught Cora's homer had it been a little higher) and remember thinking "OK, it's tied up" when Edgar made contact...then I looked over and saw Jr. literally flying around third and knew the game was over. Sigh. What a ride. Awesome to hear Dave narrating this video. RIP Dave...and Eagle hardware too
on 05:47 I thought you are supposed to run between the lines and Cora clearly outside the lines. I saw this game live but can't recall what happened. Anyone can shed light on this?
Jt Snow choked on that ground ball by sojo, he should have caught it, and when it went into the bullpen it was a dead ball, according to kingdom rules....so it should have been a ground rule double. It's too bad the umpires are idiots.

@MINIeminemFAN That is what separates Griffey from alot of other players. He did it without being a steroid man.

Years have been grim for M's fans. This 1995 team is the only team we really have to celebrate..
Still much happair with the M's than I would be if I was a Rangers fan.
M's Ownership should do a better job.
