u are lucky people that you drive your truck on a very nice place,,, try to bring your truck here in saudi arabia and you can tell to your self, thnks god i bougth a scania truck... i am a scania technician hre in saudi arabia,,, and overheating is not a major problem hre, as long as you use the right anti boil coolant on your rediator... thre are some truckers come hre all the way from UK, or germany,,, but they only hve minor problems,, evn with the old 144 series scania... safe driving mate.
I drive so many years scania. From the 111 to the R. But sorry Scania, the R is a truck with many poblems. After the last one, one year old R420, I must say "never again a Scania!"
Nive Vid my friend with nice music and one day I´ll visit the plant at Södertälje and speak with some people there....
The Gunfighter I see last weekend at Oslo. Extreme beautiful truck!
Only thing you need to remember is to use the right oil and fluids according the operation temperature. And use the given service intervals. And watch out for that radiator fan failure. Changing the radiator fan is a easy job for a Scania technician. I have never heard any major problems when it comes to "hard climate conditions" and Scania "trucks". On that fan issue i dont know if that problem is fixed in the newer models. These "trucks" are weather proven from Russia to Norway.
@vtwinbreed they use scanias in south america so they work fine in hot climates as you have in north america:p they even work fine here where its really cold.
@vtwinbreed Exactly what part of your climate is too hard for a Scania?? I had minus 40 degree C last winter (thats actually - 40 degree F too btw..) and my Scania was working just fine, no problems at all!

@shilsyk It's called import. We DO have Scania in North America. The problem is they do not stand up to our weather climates.
