  • What happened to the acid heads when they stopped dropping it,,, they went into communes, TM, ES't, cults flourished...

  • : )

  • I thought I was the only one who thought that!

  • what a dickhead

  • @commarx Yer mam!.

  • @bennehbennehbenneh ars abart tha mam then eh? tututut

  • @commarx hes my friends grandad so go suck your nipples and you obviously will never have any talent

  • BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • So when you right a song in this way, you know the song is already there, your just trying to match it up.

The other beauty of it is, you'll find out what your music really is. You may actually like a certain genre of music, but once you tune into yourself, it may be completely different. It may just have a different twist on it.

It all helps originality and creativity.

What we must also realise is that our music, is also an accumulation of music we found good.

    The pattern goes on.

  • I'm in Illinois(USA). My girlfriend, who's now 51, says she used to listen to one of your LPs when she was in high school. Her sister said she used to play it over and over and over, constantly! Just thought I'd let you know how much influence you had! I, myself, play music. You can find my video on YouTube under Wayne Weberpal. Best Wishes, Wayne

  • I write what was once known as automatic music. You play and sing until it comes together - you just work with some random riff and a lyrical idea. Basically, it is meditation but using the musical creation process as the mantra.

  • If I try to write a song nothing gets done. But sometimes a song just comes to you and its better than anything you could think of. Strange how that works. Its like tuning a radio or something IMO.

  • seriously. i got so frustrated TRYING to write that i just started waiting for it to come

  • The songs really are already written.

It is very biological actually how we tune into music, how we respond to the maths of song form. How the frequencies trigger different emotions.

Quite an amazing function actually. Why do we have this function ? I know cats for example, use their diaphram to create the vibrations when they purr, which is actually a self healing process. It circulates and warms the blood, and helps to fight off any problems. This is why cats respond to music.

    contd.

  • Very wise words DonJuanDeMarco2! Quite facinating!

  • Hehe, cheers :)

After reading it back, i can see i didn't put it down very well, but i think you get the jist of it.

In the creative world, you'll notice all the masters of their field speak of the same 'zone' they tap into, from Morrison to Dylan to Wooten to Flea.

Its just a state of honesty. Being honest with yourself and allowing our biology to take over.

You cannot force or create genius, the genius is being able to utilize what is already there.

  • Especially the bass !

We have this function of reacting to frequencies and it benefits us. I can only suggest that we are one entity with the planet and we all follow a pulse. Our heartbeat has alot to do with it, but it seems like more.

The musical pulses seem to either drive us to move when matched with our heartbeat, or play on our emotions when played out of time with our heartbeat or music mimics emotional states. Oviously emotions must move in waveforms.

    contd.

  • That being said, trying to fight your natural 'music' is like trying to stop your heartbeat.

So theres every chance that the music will come out mediocre. If it comes out naturally, then theres more chance of it being complete and related to by other listeners, since its biological.

If you overcome the physicality of the mathematical and technical aspects of designing music, then once you tune into yourself, the world is your oyster.

Now its down to your personality, how you 'run' yourself.

  • Thanks Donovan. I believe this is true. There may be some cosmic connection with the Universe through music. It makes sense because matter itself is fundimentally a waveform.

  • ha ha ha thats feckin deadly i thought i was hallucinating for a minute

  • I had to come back and listen to this again...again...again....again...

  • Oh what a treat .

  • Nicely done, BeatnikManfred. I've loved Donovan since the '60s.
