Will this also fix the problem for the rolling picture I now have? I would like to be able to fix this Big Screen vs buying another. Any suggestions or info would be much appreciated from anyone. Thanks
I know one of my stk chip is bad because of the red color showing a convergence problem, so I'm better off replacing both stk chip before the other gets blown too. But how would you know if any thing else around it is bad or blown? In this case your pico resistors was bad, so how did you know?
Just got a WS-65807 and I get no blinking light. The TV is not responsive to the power button. Any ideas on what could be wrong? I suspect it to be the power supply. Is this right?
@imjaybird I am not able to get codes because the power light is non responsive. I did check the fuses and they are all good. I came across a thread where someone had the exact same issue I am having down to the last detail and the accepted answer was something related to the high voltage circuit. So I pulled out the deflection board and the solder joints look weird but not bad. Just to be safe I will resolder the joints and see what happens.
@MultiDevoman Turn on your TV and let it shut down. Then press and hold the input and menu buttons at the same time and it will give you a 2-digit code and repeat it 5 times. What is your code?
WOW...Not that I'm not following this well made step by step process but a lot of work. Just for side cash I've been fixing plasmas mostly by replacing buffers and capacitors and nothing I've done compared to the work involved here and tomorrow I need to do one of these. Good luck to me! Thanks for the well done video here.
One thing I was confused on though was what you were doing this all to repair (what was wrong with the tv). My customer has a power problem, what was the issue here?
@OceanproAquatics Thanks! I have gotten my money out of this tv but just could not part with it. I had the power try to come on the power light would flash the shut back off. When the conv. chips fry they usually blow the pico fuses, the fuses will also blow for power spikes.
@ imjaybird love the the vid!!!...... thumbs up!!!
go back and add an annotation, to blow out the dust and dirt, for it acts as a blanket on some of the electronic parts and keeps them from cooling off, and on a very humid day this blanket can cause an electrical short
@MAXKC1 Ya, I wish I could show the blanket of dust that was on mine. Even with that these chips still lasted a long time. I will be cleaning it out yearly now though!
Yeah. These things are totally worth it to repair. We got a free (heavily used/abused) WS-48311 on Craiglist and it needed just new ICs (they were too far gone). It also had a quarter stuck in the screen, but I got that out too.
I did the op differently than you though. I took out just the convergence board without taking out that whole base unit. Good to see that people still do work with these though. Thanks for the upload.
I need a new screen my 90lb American Bulldog ran into it with her big ole but and left an imprint of her hindquarter and tail Looks funny ill send pictures if wanted LOL.. where can i find one of these replacement screens? It's a 65" Mitsubishi DLP HDTV the 3d capable one
What were the symptoms that led you to this solutions? what was the tv doing? thanks

@DBALLA9 This is the most common problem with these tv's. The only other issues are the bulbs going bad or the high voltage.

@mrlichenstein As Devoman says get the code and search online for the issue, I suspect the power supply but it may just be the fuses on the board.

@MultiDevoman Sounds like you have the same problem, check the fuses then start ordering parts.

@MacDaddy402 That sucks, you may need to call them for a factory part. I don't see there being a market for screens.
